Today’s lunch was phenomenal, I haven’t been overly impressed with some things I had had in the past, but today changed my mind completely, I was just ordering the wrong thing before. The Southern biscuit with chicken and the steak salad were on point :)

We came because of the ratings on Unilocal and we’re not disappointed. The«Comfort Food» section on the menu was not your typical group of simple American dishes, but classy and tasty choices. The London Broil was AMAZING!

Update… The next day, my mom(who had paid the tab) put in a phone call to the owner, Natalie. After hearing of our experience, she was extremely apologetic, gracious, and credited back the entire amount of the dinner. This went above and beyond what any of us had expected, so I wanted to extend a better rating for her kind gesture!

I wanted a meal to celebrate the end of the semester before my study abroad trip, and since this is pretty much the only nice sit down restaurant in town that isn’t a bar, I came here. It was a wait, but that was to be expected at the end of the year with graduations and prom going on. Once I sat down, I was served well and the waiter was very attentive. I had the pork medallions with potatoes and vegetables and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, the potato rolls and soup, which were also delicious, filled me up too much for me to eat all of my entrée. The bread was tasty too and had a nice crunchy crust. Very yummy. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. My sister’s boyfriend enjoyed the steak as well. This restaurant gets 4 stars from me only because not everything on the menu is super great. My sis had the beef stroganoff, and that left something to be desired. It was pretty flavorless. Thankfully, this place is great at cooking meat, at least. Lots of drink options, some good food as long as you choose wisely, and a pleasant staff mean that I won’t be upset if I wind up back here some other time.

A fantastic little gourmet gem in a small country town! We took the fam to Nat’s for my sister’s birthday. Called ahead to let them know it would be a party of 11, and they had our table all set and ready upon arrival. Wait staff was super friendly and accommodating to all the needs and changes that can be expected from a large party. Though the amount and quality of delicious food is what really made everyone’s day. We had bruschetta and fried pickles for appetizers to share. Choice of soup or salad for all adult dinners, and let me say the chicken poblano soup is a must! If I had known it would be so bold with flavor and creamy warmth, I could have been satisfied with just that. The dinners we chose varied from chicken madera with mashed potatoes and asparagus, pot roast with vegetables, hamburgers, three cheese pasta, fried shrimp and even just a simple salad and baked potato to name a few. Everyone had nothing but good things to say, when they stopped eating to take a breath. Ended it all with a HUG slice of carrot cake with a candle and a song. Trust me the slice was so big we each had a bite as it was passed around the table to share, it was so lick your lips good.

Nat’s On Maple catered my wedding and words can’t describe how happy I was with them. I have to start with the fact that my husband went to culinary school, so we had a challenge of finding high quality food within our budget. My husband and I planned the entire wedding ourselves and Natalie was there every step of the way. She answered any questions promptly, offered her expertise, was flexible to changes, and helped us have an amazing family style dinner within our budget. Our wedding was in August and our guests still talk about how great the food was and how wonderful the the entire staff was. If you guys are getting married, give them a call! I promise you will happy. ps: We couldn’t get enough pot roast at our wedding so we drove to Sycamore from Chicago a week later to eat dinner there :).

I was very surprised by this place as the description indicates«comfort food» I expected a diner atmosphere. I was wrong. The inside has a modern ambiance to it and the food presentation was fantastic! I had the salad was not impressed, I ended up throwing it away, but my husband had the pork chop which he greatly enjoyed! I wish I had found this place sooner!

Nat’s On Maple catered our wedding last weekend at Blumen Gardens. The food was the talk of the night! Everything was delicious — the appetizers(Swedish meatballs, crab stuffed mushrooms, and the goat cheese crostini) and the meal was to die for(pot roast, chicken madeira, green beans and the mashed potatoes). We had a family style dinner and all the food was brought out at one time and everything was served warm. Nat was also one of the best vendors we worked with for our wedding. She was very responsive to our emails and very helpful in suggesting other vendors for the event. She was always so kind and friendly! Great customer service! Thanks for everything Nat! You helped make our wedding go off without a hitch!

My family went to Nats with my mother and her friend. The service was above average and the food was fantastic. We made reservations but because of an emergency at work we were late. We called and were told it would be no problem. We were seated right away. I couldn’t finish my meal so I asked for a take out box which I left at the restaurant. I went back to asked our waitress(Keely) if my food was still in the kitchen. She returned to tell me it was thrown away but if I could wait the chef could make me a half portion! It was totally my fault that I left the food there but what a nice thing to do, totally unexpected. What a fabulous restaurant and wonderful people!

Nats on Maple catered our wedding this past weekend at Blumen Gardens and did a phenomenal job. Our menu was the garden salad, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, chicken with sun dried tomato cream sauce, and sliced roast beef. The portions were impressive for any meal let alone«wedding food». Usually with chicken you only get a small portion and the chicken was very good size chicken breasts! Sliced roast beef was also a good size. All of the food was so fresh, but I was especially impressed by the freshness of the salad and green beans! Everything was amazing and tasted exactly the same as it did when we had our tasting at the restaurant, which you never know if it will when you are cooking for that many people. All of our guests wanted to know where the food was from and we are still getting compliments! We also had a few guests that decided to stay for dinner that were only going to come for the ceremony and as soon as we asked, Nat was on top of setting a place for them. Thank you, Nat for helping to make our day so wonderful!

I was pleasantly surprised that they could take our group of ten on a half hour’s notice(a pretty tall order that had already been rebuffed by half a dozen establishments) on a Saturday night! When we arrived, the table was ready, and our server was very attentive during the entire meal. She also had no problem dividing up the checks, and even asked when we ordered so we didn’t have the dreaded«Who had what?» discussion at the end of the meal. Not being very hungry, a friend and I chose to split the scallops entrée, and I was shocked that the kitchen sent it out on separate plates, nicely presented. And it was very tasty! My only complaint is that the asparagus needed some butter or salt, or both. Prices were reasonable, with two entrees, two desserts, and a couple of drinks coming out to about $ 120. However…be VERY careful walking through the lobby! I slipped on the floor on my way out and completely wiped out on the tile floor(in front of dozens of people waiting for a table). My shoes were partly to blame, but yikes, that floor was slippery. Overall, it was an excellent meal, and if I’m ever back in the area, I would happily eat here again.

Shrimp fresh from the Gorton’s box with sauce from a jar, grey steak, day old pasta and veggies. But be guaranteed, if you send something back you will be assured they will put their«best guy» in charge of making you new entrée! Oh, and the special on the board outside, they don’t have it.

Went there for a relaxing dinner with our student to get away from dorm food. The doors open at 4 pm and no reservations for small parties. We arrived at 5:20 and there was already a 35 minute wait. Not to be deterred we decided to stick it out. The wait time was realistic and once we were sat food came out relatively quickly. We started with the sweet chili lime shrimp– tender and tasty but not amazing. I had the salmon salad that WAS amazing as was my son’s ribeye. My husband had the petite filet that was a nice piece of meat but bland. Service was outstanding — restaurant is quaint– we’d definitely go back but get there even earlier!

Stopped in for lunch and had the Steak Frits. The server explained that the cut was a filet. I thought that is was impossible to serve a filet for only $ 10. I was right I guess. Whatever cut it was in reality was inedible when cooked medium rare. I ate half of a small steak and sent the rest away. The service was good and I suppose that the price and quality were well matched. I would be willing to try again as Wendy’s is one of the better rated restaurants in this town, but I will definitely not order steak again. There was so much sinew and the flavor was very bad.

I’m gonna just say it. This is my FAVORITE restaurant. I went NIU for 4 years and stuck around 2 more after graduating. I only discovered this place around year 4. That makes me sad… I have some in-laws in the area so I’m up in here on an almost monthly basis. I’m always looking for an excuse to go to Nats! The service here is always good. Never had an issue. What shines here the most is the food. I’ve had several different things on the menu. The prices as well as so reasonable, especially when you compare it with the quality. It feel like you’re almost stealing from them, almost! The chicken poblano soup is simply amazing. The 4 cheese pasta and the tomato basil pasta both were awesome as well. The portions are so big I can’t finish them, which is saying a lot cause I’m a big dude. The crab cakes and meatloaf are both good as well. Every once in a while they’ll have a seafood fondue thing, which I love. The only issue is to be sure to make a reservation because it does fill up and you might have to wait a bit, which is always a good sign. No doubt about it, it’s a… must try.

What did you say? Oh, was it yum… because this place is delicious. The ambiance provides a great place for a date and it is right off the main road in Sycamore. As a person who is in constant search of a nice place to have dinner, this is refreshing change from the usual bar/restaurant options in the DeKalb/Sycamore area. Please and thank you for making your menu for delicious. The loaded potato egg rolls on the appetizer menu are so crisp and delicious. It is a nice twist on the usual appetizer. Love. The sandwiches are delicious, specially the italian club and the grilled chicken sandwich. They are simple, delicious. There is nothing«new» or inventive about this place. However, I am always a proponent for quality, simple food. I have had the opportunity to try their catering as well. Nat’s catering has the same high quality food as their regular restaurant menu. They will work within your price point while providing high quality food.
