This place came recommended and I love BBQ. A friend of mine picked it up and brought it up to work for me and I have to say it was pretty good, but it wasn’t amazing. I ordered the ribs which came with a double order of Brunswick stew and some white bread. The white bread surprised me a bit. Its inclusion reminded me of cheap BBQ raffles where you buy a plate to support a local baseball team or some other school fundraiser. The food always seems a bit second rate, but you eat it anyway knowing you already paid and it’s going to a good cause. How lazy do you need to be? Do something with your bread! Don’t just pull a piece of white bread out of a bag and shove it on a plate. Put some butter on it and toast it at the very least. Maybe throw some garlic salt on it. It isn’t hard! In fact, go a step further and do like Sonny’s BBQ and have some serious garlic bread. Garlic bread that makes your mouth water at the thought of it on a bad day topped with some mild BBQ sauce. Let’s talk Brunswick stew – or not. Maybe I shouldn’t. I love Brunswick stew and this stew was just okay and I really don’t like to say Brunswick stew was just«okay.» I had some Tabasco sauce on hand and that gave it a little heat and it was decent. The ribs were something they did right. They may have been a tad over-peppered, but they were tasty and smothered in a delicious sauce. I didn’t get to choose my sauce, but the sauce was good nonetheless. It tasted like a tomato, mustard and vinegar based sauce with perhaps a little heat. The ribs were trimmed in a St. Louis style and very meaty and the portions were not greedy. This was the highlight of the plate and thankfully they pulled through on the main attraction. I would probably eat here again under certain circumstances, but there are better BBQ options in nearby Ashburn.
