Store has a large selection of beer and wine. They recently added a growler filling station with a nice craft beer selection including some hard to find brews(which go very fast). Many bottles of beer available to make a mixed pack which I love to do with the seasonal brews from the large variety they have in stock. Prices can be higher on some items but they always have specials and sometimes you can find a great deal on a bottle of wine in the $ 4.99 Bargain Wagon.

Living in Baltimore County, there are few(if any) liquor stores open on Sunday. Carroll County doesn’t abide by this silly rule. There are probably a few stores that were both closer and open today, but we decided to go by this one because I was hoping that«the largest liquor store in Carroll County» would have my favorite wine which I have only found at one place in the area so far. They didn’t, but they had a ton of other stuff. Two massive aisles of wine, separated into region or what kind it was. A separate wine room, I assume for the extra classy wine. One or two massive aisles of liquor. A massive aisle plus a large refrigerated section of all kinds of beer, many I’ve never seen or heard of before. The outside leaves a lot to be desired, and the inside isn’t super nice, but this is like a less classy version of the Perfect Pour in Columbia, and it’s much closer to home for me, so, yay! Unless you’re a teetotaler, I dare you to come here and not find at least something you want to try.

Great selection, good help and customer service. EXPENSIVE. Manager is anti business. Actually agrees with the recent MD tax increase on alcohol. I won’t go there again just based on that.

As good as it gets in Sykesville. Great selection of craft brews and wines at decent prices. Everyone I’ve come in contact there has been very friendly. I passed over this a couple times because of its location but once you walk into the place it is easily the size of a small to mid size grocery.

Don’t let its outer appearance fool you. Yes, it’s in a strip mall, and the name conjures up old memories of the stale-beer-smelling local liquor store that I would go to with my father while growing up. But if this place was called something like, «You Want It? We Got It Liquors», you could believe it. Their wine selection is massive, and the staff is very friendly and patient enough to help with recommendations. They’ll even help decipher the odd, «Well, I had a wine that looked like this, and tasted like that, and I think there were grapes on the label» kind of question that you present to them. The store is kept very clean and bright, with not a trace of stale beer in the air. There is even a large, climate-controlled area for some of their finer wines. But I’m a beer guy, and their selection suits me just fine. Whoever does the purchasing there does a great job of keeping the shelves stocked with a number of quality craft brews, and they have even offered to help me get some oddball beer that I may be looking for. You can even create your own mix-and-match 6-pack, as well as being able to purchase singles. In short, it’s refreshing to find a liquor store that doesn’t think that«Killian’s Irish Red» or «Yuengling» are craft beers, AND imports. Sure there are other stores around that I could go to, and are closer. But for the selection, fair pricing, and knowledgeable staff, I’m happy to patronize Total Discount.
