Ive vern coming here since i was a kid. Bomb spot open late on weekends for those late night munchies! Carne asada is pretty good… if you like tongue(lengua), you have to try a burrito, meat only, with carne asada and lengua mixed together! Sooo bomb! Only thing i dont like is that they normally dont keep limes/lemons out in the salsa bar, so you gotta ask the cashier for them. Red sauce is spicy, but wont burn your mouth, with decent flavor Parking lot gets packed sometimes,

Childhood nostalgia. Same old wholesome goodness. The burrito has just the right proportion of meat: rice:bean. Quality meat unlike other places. The fruit drinks are ridiculous(melon y sandia). Horchata, not too sweet not too cinnamony ~ just right. The gorditasssss are sopes on crack. Provecho!

I love this place, the Carne Asada Burritos are so flavorful as all of the other dishes. The Green Salsa is a must with the tortilla chips. The place is a little run down but the food is what you are there for :)

The food is really good. It’s getting a little pricey, but still very reasonable. The dinning area is a little«low-class» but the food is good and you can hang out there as long as you want. One little problem is, usually there’s somebody outside trying to sell something; candy bars, pirated DVDS/CDs, or their crappy hip-hop album. I’ve walked away in order to avoid them.

Love their Gordito combo(you’ll get full) but you really can’t go wrong with anything here. Breakfast here is cheap and good.

If you are mexican you might have some standards walking in. As I do. So the place is small and after sitting for a while it’s freezing. Bring a sweater if you plan on dinning in. It’s a bit on the messy side and there will be flies. The service isn’t the most charming but it will do. Now the food is hit or miss. Carne asada isn’t good. Has lots of fat and is pretty flavorless. What I have is the lengua(tongue) most of the time it’s on point. Sometimes it does taste like cooked meat. Flavorless. But sometimes it is really good. The thing that saves this place fore me is the Horchata it’s very yummy. BUT Both my fiancé and myself got tummy aches the last time we went there. Idk what’s up with that. But this place is one I used to frequent almost daily. lol then little by little they started buy slipping and raising prices. The refill costs over a dollar for the large cup. Not cool. Their Combos like most mexican combos don’t make sense. Lol like you have a burrito and everything you find in it… you can have an extra side of on a plate… lol so idk. I’ll probably end up there again and sort of regret it but then… the horchata so okay… alright.

I must say when in Sylmar. El Faro is my Go To spot! but I’m always open to check out new places, so when I saw this one I told the wife let’s check it out, she’s not as adventurous and wanted to stick with El Faro. Looking over the menu originally I was going to just get tacos but noticed picture signs in the window, they have Tortas Ahogadas which are not found everywhere and are often done incorrectly, they also show Al Pastor on a TROMPO which is always a good thing. Although we didn’t order any Aguas they al least looked good! The Wife: Burrito(Pura Carne) de Carne Asada($ 6.75) Yes, the burrito looks/is smaller because it doesn’t have all the filler… rice, beans, onion, cilantro… it’s «All Meat» unfortunately it tasted wack I’m guessing! they cook this in batches on a flat top grill, it was either very wet or slightly frozen, piled on a grill to cook which creates steam, which is also why the meat is on the light brown/grayish side, NO searing, NO seasoning wack flavor… Rice was bland, Beans were«COLD» and Chips were not fresh! Hey but they do have some good salsa! #FacePalm 1-Star YES — The Wife gave me the look and said«I told you!, We should have gone to El Faro» Pancho: Tacos —($ 1.50) Al Pastor — IF this came off a trompo it’s a big disappointment, the flavor was just OK, and the meat itself had no sign of char so it was either sliced off the trompo way too early, OR I’m guessing it was never cooked on a trompo… it «looks» more like pastor cooked on a flat top… NOTHING close to El Faro! 3-Stars Pescado — Nothing like overcooked fish and what’s up with the«lettuce» so you get two very small pieces of fish with a bunch of lettuce and tomato on top to make the taco appear big! First off Cabbage on Fish Tacos Por Favor!, next why are you going to serve me almost burnt fish? unfortunately they were dry from being overcooked. 1-Star Torta Ahogada($ 6.00) When ordering the lady asked«If I wanted it wet?» Que, Que, Que… isn’t that what«Ahogada» is? I gave her the silent«Estas Pendeja» stare and then said YES! she then asked if I wanted it Hot, and I said YES. The Torta Ahogada was served like this just in the tomato sauce, the Hot salsa was served on the side never had it served up separate like that, the salsa had good heat. Birote Salado(Bread/Roll) authentic type but not fresh! Ahogada, the tomato base was good and the side of Hot salsa was spicy Beans, were OK Carnitas, were average/good BUT not enough meat on the torta! 2.5-Stars Overall the food is below average, I blame this Paisa
Knowing there are several other places in the area that serve much better food, I’d not return.

This is my spot for whenever I want a really good burrito or want Papa nachos, which are amazing! The lady taking your order is always so nice, I’ve been coming here for almost 2 years already! They get you your food fast and it’s amazing

This is the best place for nachos good portions, amazing prices, they are open late and their staff is always friendly. Caution… The salsa they put on the nachos, is beyond hot. Get the pickled carrots on the side, they make them there. Veggie kid friendly for the nachos and they’re still amazing(just ask for no meat) And I loooove the melon aqua fresca. Trust me… I’m the duke here

This is one of my go to places in Sylmar for nachos, they are fantastic, definitely give them a try if you go here. They come with with some sort of awesome white cheese, guacamole, sour cream and whatever type of meat you want. These nachos are also well priced, just under $ 6. Also like any respectable Mexican place, Los Toritos has a salsa bar. Their salsa is delicious, though I wish it could be spicier… that is my curse. Also this place does have great Mexican breakfast, had the huevos con chorizo which came with rice beans and bam fries.

I stopped here for lunch and it was pretty bad. Ordered me some Chicken enchiladas and it was awful. The chicken tasted as if it was reheated the night before then refrozen for the next day. Unfortunately I came in that next day. I been coming here for sometime and it’s been getting worse and worse. Made me think why it’s now a B. I think by now the only things good is their salsas and their aguas frescas.

Stopped here on a whim one day. My wife ordered the juevos rancheros. She expected no meat on the plate but half way through pulled out a 1inch long UNCOOKED length of pig intestine from the egg. Who ordered the Tripas? Or should I say Tripa. Even if we we did, Tripas(intestine) is deep fried to a golden crunch, not a veiny pink rubbery sock top. Really Really disgusting. . I showed the«cashier» the disgusting raw intestine we found. She and the«cook» had a good laugh. Knowing now that customer service was NOT a factor in their day to day service. We just left clenching our stomachs. . The asada burrito I ordered sucked too. Tasted old and re-grilled. Beans were cold and bland w/shredded(unmelted) cheese. Rice tasted like cardboard and there was some sort of an attempt at a watery salad on the plate as well. . p. s. Don’t expect any free re-fills here either. . Horrible dining area as well. This was an UBER dining FAIL at it’s grandest. Boy did we make a mistake. . SOWELEARN!!!

Fairly typical taco shop with average prices. Carne asada tacos come in typical preparation, with onions and cilantro. The chile is a little spicy for my taste buds, so I have them hold the chile and I add it afterwards. Burritos are yummy and satisfying: meat, rice, and beans tucked inside. They have several meat options: shredded beef(machaca), pork, lengua, etc. My only criticism of this place comes after my experience last week. I ordered machaca tacos, with a hard shell. The taco filling was delicious. Meat was juicy and flavorful, so were the peppers and other filling ingredients. But the shell was just a pre-prepared hard shell like I could buy at the store or get at Taco Bell, not a freshly fried crispy tortilla. So I was disappointed by that. Aguas frescas are a perfect accompaniment to whatever you order!

This my friends is where you wanna go for a night out to satisfy a burrito craving(of which I’m sure you have plenty) the place is big for a burrito joint and the prices though not bargain are definitely worth it for the food portions. Which brings us to the quality of the food, Granted the burritos are packed with all the goodies and you can get the Burrito Wet(type of salsa topping), it is one good burrito(not the best ever! but great). I ordered their Asada, Mojado or Wet burrito it came out to around 10 bucks with a drink. I couldn’t finish the burrito it was so big. The reason this place gets a five star is because of not only the food but the self serve chips and salsa bar. Seriously, the greatest idea a burrito place can have. They also have a self serve drink fountain with pineapple flavor, WIN!

Good food at a decent price. Deal! We usually just order asada tacos but they are really good, not fatty.

This place is the bomb if you’re into the hole in the wall, authentic Mexican fast food joints. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because they charge extra for carne asada & fish tacos($ 1.50 instead of &1.25 for everything else). The quality of the meat is top notch, as is everything on their menu. I recommend the carne asada burrito con todo or the super nachos. They have a kick ass salsa bar which carries green salsa, red salsa, the jalapeño/carrot/onions/califlower mix, and radishes. I LOVE my food spicy and the salsa’s here are to die for! I wish they would bottle ‘em up and sell ‘em. Cheaply priced authentic Mexican food served quick.
