Never been to South of Philly, so thought I’d give it a try. I looked online to see their menu and found out that you could order online! Which was great for me, since I am limited on time for lunch. So I decided on a meal, paid, and waited 25 minutes to go get order. The 3 workers seemed overwhelmed and very busy. I figured the online ordering must be a hit, keeping them hopping. After waiting a few minutes at the counter, the gentleman offered to help me out. I told him I placed an online order about 30 minutes before. He made this face and asked the girls in kitchen. Apparently, they did not know they were doing online orders yet? So after waiting another 5 minutes or so, I finally had my sandwich and was on my way. I ordered the hot Italian. The sandwich itself is not hot. Only the cheese gets melted. But none the less the sandwich, though messy, was delicious. Overall experience, wishing I had less ice and more soda in my cup, wish the sandwich was steamed hot, and my order had been more timely, however I will be back! The people working there were very nice, even though they were so busy. Rough days happen especially with a new system being put in play. The food is well worth every minute!

Easy to find and park. Small but clean and cozy. Service is quick and friendly. Food was great, best hoagie bread ever! My only suggestion for improvement would be earth friendly service items. Lots of Styrofoam and disposable plastic. Even when I love the food, I am much more likely to choose a place that cares about the environment.

A little pricier than expected, but one of the tastiest places to eat in Sylva. Fast service and friendly staff. I would recommend the Philly steak fries with provolone cheese. I had the chicken cheese steak… It was really good but the beef cheese steak was the best hands down. TRYIT

Great hidden gem in Sylva. Excellent philly and the philly cheese fries were amazing. The large proportions are served by friendly staff. The only negative is the prices are a little high. Wish they had a combo with sandwich, fries, and a drink instead of having to buy everything separate.

Not from this area, passing through for work. Not a lot of options in this specific spot, but glad we came here! When we went in, the décor of the restaurant looked like it was not painted professionally and the odd wooden adornments stood out in an unflattering way. The window sill looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in weeks, but the floor looked freshly mopped. The sweet tea tasted like the container it was made in had not been recently cleaned. But y’all, the cheesesteak made up for it all! I had the traditional Philly cheesesteak with onion rings and the prior complaints seemed unimportant. The ingredients tasted fresh and the onion rings had great breading. If I lived in the area, I would eat here regularly. Good quality is tremendously more important than paint and screwed-to-the-wall picture frames.

Awesome sandwich and friendly people. Chicken philly with pizza sauce is a favorite of mine. A great«hole in the wall» find in Sylva.

Place was just blah. Sandwich looked big but i found myself chewing on the pieces they should have cut & thrown away. I don’t know which to call it, grissle or scraps. Yet and still, friendly and fast service. Andy’s now known as Hwy55 is still the best in NC

I’m going to go ahead and give this place 5 stars despite my biggest food pet peeve. Yes its that good! I have walked out of pizza places for serving canned or pre-prepared mushrooms. Yeah a little thing but I LOVE mushrooms. The service is fast and the staff is very polite and friendly. The fact that they use real cuts of meat on their sandwiches and not some processed extruded shaped formed meat product compensates for canned mushrooms. Prices are reasonable and well worth it.

Best place around for a good lunch. hands down. Owners are there a lot of the time to make your food perfectly. I come here once a week at least and they never disappoint with food or service.

I grew up just outside of Philly and my family and I moved to NC10 years ago and have had a hard time finding a good cheesesteak. I attend WCU and went looking for restaurants in Sylva online and came across this. My brother and I tried it one day and absolutely loved it. We recommend this to all people who want an almost authentic Philly cheesesteak. We go almost every Saturday. The fact that the owner is from the Philly area is great. I also LOVE the fact that she uses real amorosa rolls. These rolls are only found in the north, so it’s nice to have an all around great cheesesteak. The price is also great. It’s not expensive, especially for a college student.

Best cheesesteak I’ve had anywhere! This place is a real gem because its small and if you didn’t know where to find it, you never would. This is a family business with some of the friendliest people you’d ever meet. The food is top notch and they even get their hoagie rolls delivered from Philadelphia! Every week they offer a new $ 8.50 combo which includes a 12″ sandwich with a drink and a side. Even apart from specials, the prices are fair considering the quality and freshness of the food served. Just an insider tip: be sure to get the Boom Boom sauce to dip your fries and onion rings in! You won’t regret it.

No doubt about it — the best hoagies in the area. The sandwiches are made by genuine Philly people. Not much seating in the shop, but don’t let that stop you. I’ve had the Philly Cheese, Italian and Meatball. Home run every time. The owners really care about their food — and it shows!
