I ordered the chicken riggies and the utica greens. I liked both — the greens were a little more oily than I’d have liked, but both were plenty flavorful. It also came with some kind of big garlic knot, which was an unexpected bonus. It was about $ 20 for the two dishes — the portions are quite generous, so I’ll get 2 – 3 meals out of this. I do note that all the other reviews are negative, but they’re pretty old at this point and my experience was very positive. FYI delivery took about 45 minutes, pretty standard for the area.

The original Antonio’s was one of the best restaurants around, and I was hoping for quality from this place. Wasn’t expecting fine dining, but certainly hoped for better than what I got. They’ve kept the name and logo from the original restaurant and not much more. Went at a Friday lunchtime — ordered eggplant parmesan with a side of pasta. Price was around 12.95, which is steep for lunch in this town. The food wasn’t bad, but didn’t deliver the quality I’d expected from the Antonio’s name. It was just average. The portions are good-sized, though; can’t fault them on that.(But I’d have been happier with a smaller quantity of wonderful food than a generous portion of a so-so meal.) And the staff at the counter and in the kitchen acted like they could almost care about being there. Clearly, the staff takes no pride in the old Antonio’s name or reputation, assuming they ever knew anything about it. Haven’t been back to Antonio’s To Go, and don’t expect to. If I have to pay $ 12.95 at lunchtime, I expect better food than I got here. And, if I ever want mediocre food, I can get it at a lower price elsewhere.

After a long weekend out of town, we were exhausted… so much so that I was not about to start cooking. In a mood for pasta and a place close to our home, we settled on Antonios. We ordered meatballs for apps, cheese ravioli and the eggplant pasta bake. The meatballs are obviously pre frozen and I would be terribly shocked if they were even made in that restaurant. The cheese ravioli were cooked well, but were in a vodka sauce that had too much herb and chunks of tomato which confused me. The eggplant parm was alright, just a bit greasy. I asked for cheese, never got it and do not expect bread to come with your dinner. apparently you have to ask for that as well. What is odd, is that this order took them 15 minutes(we picked up)… which explains the need to keep their products frozen. I had pizza there once, months ago and like the dinner I had… not so sure I will be back. There are better options out there.

Antonio’s put a menu in my mailbox so I thought I would give it a try. I’m(stupidly) always game to try new pizza places, even though most of the pizzerias in Syracuse are guaranteed to not be great. Antonio’s is no exception. Pizza is mediocre. Too much dough in the crust. We also tried their mozzarella sticks and wings. The mozzarella sticks were obviously frozen. They probably should have been in the fryer for a little longer since the cheese felt like it was just past defrosted, but still solid. At least heat them all the way up so the cheese melts. Wings were equally as unimpressive. It doesn’t help that this place is way overpriced too. Small pizza and 10 wings is $ 16. Crazy. Not worth it. Go elsewhere.
