Great service! Came in around 11pm and sat at the bar with four other people. Only a few people in the place. I got the stuff my puff my friends got carrot cake, tiramisu and the brownie or bust. We each tried each other’s and loved everything we had. Would definitely go back again. There is no going wrong with anything on the dessert menu.

Loved this place! The staff was friendly and the carrot cake was AMAZING. I’m a huge fan of Wegmans & I would say it was 10 times better. I can’t wait for my next trip to Syracuse to stop in there again!

This place used to get 5 stars, but since new ownership took over last year, it has gone downhill. Somethings were taken off the menu that were awesome and I definitely miss(caramel brownie cheesecake and the s’mores dessert). When I was there this past week, I got the cookie cake sundae, something I’ve gotten MANY times before, but this time it was inedible. Most of the cookie pieces were rock hard and i could not even cut into it with my fork. I just ate the tiny scoop of ice cream and left the rock hard cookie on the plate(not that the waitress said anything about it). My husband liked what he got — a strawberry cheesecake, which was the weekly special. My friends both got the pink lemonade cake — but were a little disappointed with how heavy/greasy the frosting was, but they said the cake part was fine. Wish I could go back in time to go to the original, better Bittersweet. I can’t say this will be on my list of places to visit regularly anymore.

Very friendly. Excellent service excellent food the dessert was delicious. Tell large amount for a good price informative about other restaurants in that area. Casual setting and quiet.

Exactly what is needed after a dinner or a show. Nice selection of wines. We shared a Noah’s Ark dessert which is a fondue for 2. Highly recommend.

Sat down at the bar with my fiancé. We just moved to town and were very excited for their desserts after dinner at a near bye restaurant. Waited 10+ minutes to even get handed a menu. Found some awesome dessert options but after waiting another 5+ minutes and not even getting asked what we wanted to drink we decided to walk out. Menu looked tremendous but they had one waitress/bartender working and the service spoiled it for us. Went to Modern Malt instead and was very happy with the choice.

I don’t drink. I’m as sober as sober can be and this place is a heaven send for people, like me, who want to go out and have fun but have no plans if getting sloshed alongside clearly intoxicated friends. Not saying you cannot get drunk here because there is plenty of wine to go around, but who cares about that when you got a bomb dessert menu. It’s just me and my brownie and while my friends enjoy their specially selected wine from their excellent(and very funny) staff! Such a good time. Thanks for making an awesome night awesomer!

We decided to go here for a late night dessert and were not disappointed! They have a good selection of drinks but more importantly, a great selection of sweets! We ordered the flourless chocolate cake(served warm) and death by chocolate. Both were exceptional! I highly recommend Bittersweet!

Thank goodness for Dining Week! It’s the perfect time for me to come and try this place out since a few of my friends have only RAVED about this place. First off, Bittersweet serves a selection of delicious wine, desserts and paninis. During my visit, I ordered the Alessandra panani, which was basically a Chicken Parm in a sandwich while my boyfriend ordered the Papa’s Panino. I didn’t think the paninis were anything special besides the fact that they also came with chips and a pickle(yay for the pickle), and they filled me up. Plus, they were $ 8 each for Dining Week(usual price is $ 8.50). 50 cents off haha. Desserts were also decent. We got the Belgian Delight and Cookie Cake Sundae. The Cookie Cake Sundae was too sweet for me personally, but I enjoyed trying it. Overall, I had a fairly good experience. The waitress was super friendly. Wish I tried their wine also but I guess l’ll save that for my next visit.

The ambiance is very nice. It’s spectacular when you compare it to most places in Syracuse. This is a perfect place for a first date or anniversary. When we came on a Friday night a woman and her friends were having a baby shower. The dessert was good. We had the stuff my puff and the waffle delight. My boyfriend had red wine(not sure what and I didn’t taste it) and I had Prosecco. The stemware was perfection. The gal who waited on us was one of the most spacey I’ve ever had. Can’t remember her name but she was very pretty and had long blonde hair. When I asked about a wine and pointed at the wine menu, she described to me the bruschetta appetizer. I thought maybe she misheard me. Every time she was at our table, she kept looking around the room while we were talking and then ask us to repeat ourselves because she wasn’t paying attention. At one point my boyfriend and friend looked at each other like, «Is she on drugs?» We tried to give her the benefit of the doubt but when she came back with our wine she couldn’t remember who ordered what and there were only two orders. We waited an hour for our desserts and normally we would’ve chalked it up to the fact they were busy, but we honestly thought maybe she forgot to ring them in since the two groups who sat and ordered after us got their orders about 20 – 30 minutes before us. Maybe she was having an off night, maybe the kitchen was swamped, maybe the server was new or overwhelmed. It could have been that our order took he kitchen longer. Either way, I don’t believe this server was an accurate reflection of Bittersweet. I would’ve given fewer stars due to service if it wasn’t for the amazing ambiance and dessert. Looking forward to visiting again and trying the cheese plate and bruschetta.

I love this place for dessert as I have not had the food yet. It’s definitely a girlie place so it’s either couples or groups of ladies out for the night, occasionally some families. Music is nice and not overwhelming and people are always coming and going. It’s open late on the weekdays too so it’s great to stop in before heading home. I recommend the cookie ice cream sundae or brownie or bust! Coffee is good, service is great and the dessert is divine!

We stopped in for some dessert and wine one night. It was surprisingly dead, only one other group came in for a short time while we were there. We both got a glass of wine and split the chocolate fondue. My biggest complaint is how much chocolate fondue they give you vs. how much they give you to dip into it. We had tons of chocolate leftover. We said something about it to the waitress and she gave us some extra rice krispie treats, but we still had a ton of chocolate leftover. Overall, it was underwhelming, but not bad. We enjoyed it, but I felt it was a little overpriced for what we got.

Stopped by for the first time with my friend, as she was having a craving for wine and dessert, which I was not. When we got there, it was relatively quiet, but within 30-minutes, the place was really filling up. After looking at the menu, I immediately began to crave dessert, because everything sounded delicious! I ordered the chocolate chip cookie sundae and my friend got the brownie sundae, and both were to die for! Tasted homemade and the wait was not long at all. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, even as business picked up, and I noticed that they took time to chat with their customers and greet everyone upon arrival and departure. I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a dessert and drink, though I noticed that they do have a good menu for every day food; ranging from salads to more heavy fare. Will definitely come back once I fit my pants again!!!

Always a good place for dessert! They have a lot of options and always have a special. I like the cookie sundae best — comes out hot. There is a whole wine list — red, white, sparkling. There is also a hot drink menu. The space is small so if you are going with a large group, I would call ahead because they may not be able to seat you or maybe need to rearrange things in order to get you a space. My only issue has been that the cappuccino/espresso machine has been down a few times I’ve gone over the past year.

My husband was referred here by Reddit, and what a good find it was! A nice intimate little place where we enjoyed their version of the S’more, Crème Brulee, and a glass of White Zinfandel. I can’t wait to bring a few friends for our next outing!

I heard great things about this place so I will go again but my first try was a little disappointing. We went for dessert only and ordered the Brownie or Bust and the Caramel Brownie Cheesecake. The brownie for the Brownie or bust was decent and the ice cream was good. I was disappointed with the Caramel Brownie Cheesecake. I ordered it with a peanut butter topping which added some flavor to it. The brownie base was very hard, not at all like what I would expect. I thought that the base would be a brownie. Instead it was a hard piece of what tasted like brownie/graham cracker base. I bake cheesecake myself so I have very high standards which may be part of the reason why I was disappointed with this cheesecake. The cheesecake part was very fluffy and did not have much taste, I prefer a denser cheesecake. I will be back to try other desserts and their savory dishes.
