Great pizzas! Have been there a couple of times for dinner and never disappointed. Service is a little slow, but the food makes up for it!

Flame is a unique jewel in Syracuse. The staff is warm and friendly, the food is hot and delicious. You should go to Flame. Enjoy cocktails, appetizers, dinner and the ambiance. You’ll have a memorable time. Tell a friend.

Although the brick oven pizza was tasty, I could not quite get my finger around the entire concept of the restaurant. The wrecking ball and other ecclectic things just seemed out of place although fun and whimsical. The service staff took longer than i’d had liked considering the plce was pretty much empty. The cheese plate was nothing special with pineapples. The rice patties were different, but tasty. The pizza was thin crust and crispy. Inwould certainly try another pizza but that would be it. Just ok to say the least.

Everything you try here is superb. We had onigri(yes, onigri) which were excellent. The Flame Salad is a great combo of salad, protein, fried rice, and baked potato chunks. The Flame Pizza is actually a Turkish pizza known as pide – superb. They have sour cherry soda. The ambiance is way way cool. And it’s in a growing little neighborhood in SYR: SU student housing and a Café Kubal are going in across the street. Just go here and order something, it’s amazing.

Food is pretty darn good so we are back for more. Owner and his staff are very sociable. We are here on a Thursday and there is a decent crowd.

Excellent, attentive staff! Had the Flame Pizza and and an Empire Amber beer. Pizza was very light and great, beer was good for a local Amber. Waiter brought over some appetizer samples and after dinner Yiddish desert to try. Both were very good. The atmosphere in this place is really cool as the owner is a sculptor and made all of his own tables and other sculptures. Great place for some excellent food and beer on a cold NY eve.

Great spot for dinner /cocktails. Owner Tash Taskale is a wonderful and talented artist and host. A special place that’s easy to get to but nicely ‘out of the way.’

I visited Flame over the summer and keep forgetting to do a review. I stopped in with a friend on a weekday night and the place was not at all busy. We decided to sit at the bar to enjoy our pizza. We ordered on with shrimp(forget the exact name) that was really good. It is very thin crust as others have said but don’t let that scare you away. We found it was plenty for two people for a lighter dinner. If you want a stuff-your-face pizza experience this isn’t it but if you want to enjoy a pizza without all the bread of a traditional crust, Flame is for you!

Atmosphere was great, other than that I am not impressed at all. The lady that served us gave approximately 2 word answers to everything we asked. She didn’t seem too enthused to be there. But enough about that. I can always look past service. The food… I see a ton of great reviews here, which boggles me. Thin crust pizza? No. It is more of a pizza crisp. I almost feel like they are insulting my intelligence. $ 13 for a pizza so thinned out it doesn’t even add up to 2 slices of a true thin crust pizza. My wife and I are not hog eaters at all. We split the pizza then went around the corner to strong hearts for another little bite. Sorry but your pizza is an appetizer. I don’t mind paying $ 13 for a thin crust pizza, but a.) give me an actual thin crust pizza and b.) give me a pizza that was actually something to talk about. Beer taps are wasted on average beers. Also when we were seated they put a plate on our table with maybe 3 cut pieces of soft pretzel that were each about the size of the tip of my thumb. I was so confused by that. I mean I comprehend it was free but it was just so odd with how small the amount was. They treated these pretzel pieces as if they climbed the swiss alps to acquire them. Won’t be going back. I don’t do $ 13 appetizers.

Didn’t even know this place existed, but it such a great restaurant! The atmosphere is awesome, and the furniture is very nice(ok, maybe the chairs could use some upgrades). The service was great too. They give you a sampling when you are seated and a dessert sample after you’ve finished eating. The pizza is New York style, so thin crust, and they nail it. The pizzas are cooked in a big stone oven, and are cut into lots of smaller pieces which makes it easy to share as a group entre. The chicken was good too, but it’s the pizza that would make me come back. Next time I’ll probably try one of their more specialty pizzas, but I’m guessing you really can’t go wrong.

I had the pleasure of «discovering» this restaurant while staying at the nearby Crowne Plaza. If I lived in this area, I would definitely become a regular. Friendly and attentive staff, an interesting and eclectic menu, and everything I tried was absolutely delicious!

Really really good flatbread pizzas! The atmosphere was cool too. The service was great, and they gave us a free appetizer and desert, which was awesome! The only thing was that the menu was pretty small. Definitely would recommend coming here!

Place has a great atmosphere, friendly service and just a nice place to hang. The pizza ordered was grossly undercooked and lacked some flavor. The dough was not crisp and was chewy. The beef nagoya was not bad at all. We were kinda getting barraged by the 2 servers every 5 minutes.

A great restaurant with good food, a friendly staff, and a unique atmosphere. As other reviews already pointed out, it’s off the beaten path, so it looks like they don’t receive as many customers as they deserve. That’s too bad because their menu is worth a trip…

This place is off the beaten path but has a warm atmosphere, especially in front of the fire pit. The food is excellent but they need more customers.

Just a great space. A little off the beaten path so sometimes very quiet. Great romantic spot. Great for a quiet meeting. Like the food as well though a limited menu. Definitely a place to try if you haven’t. Oh, and they are very nice.

Just went here for the first time and I will definitely be back! We ordered a few pizzas and appetizers to share. The pizzas are made with super thin crispy crust. We tried the Brooklyn and the Barcelona pizza. The Brooklyn had just the right balance of cheese and sauce. The Barcelona was delicious with mozzarella, tomatoes, pine nuts, basil and olive oil. The cured salmon plate was fishy, as expected :-) We didn’t like baklava which was the dessert being offered so we suggested a dessert pizza. They said they were happy to make one! The dessert pizza they served was made with molasses, tahini, chocolate, chopped apples, and caraway seeds. It could have used a little more chocolate, but it was delicious! There is a lot of seating and a few big tables which makes it great for groups. They have a nice large bar area as well.

I can say that as they are having their Soft Opening it was a good experience. The décor is different and interesting. I like the setting and the bar area is large. We were told to seat anywhere. Anne was friendly and attentive. She told us about the specials and brought menu. We decided on Alsace(white) pizza and the Brooklyn one. Food came out fast. Brooklyn came out first. It’s thin, light and even though you don’t see basil, you can taste it. It was good and flavorful. I would get again and ask for a bit crispier. The White was a bit crispier and the Canadian bacon pieces gives it a good flavor. They were both great, but we would go with Brooklyn again. Prices are reasonable and the small size pizza is huge. We can’t wait to go back once is running full force and all menu available. Yeah! No free refills but that’s fine with me. Thank you to Tash and Anne for great service and food.
