Kingdom Hardwood Floors

Unprofessional and disorganized. We were one room’s floors sanded down. We had already ripped up the vinyl that was over them. The owner came in and gave us a low estimate and he came recommended from a flooring store, so that’s why we went with him. But he didn’t write up a formal estimate for us. He said he was working on a job nearby and could start work in a few days. On the day he was supposed to come, he said he would not be able to make it. When he did send someone, they added $ 100 onto the cost for extra work they didn’t foresee. Also, that day, when I got home, I saw the worker who used our bathroom left the hot water running. The next day, they were supposed to sand the floors and put the first coat of stain on. But they weren’t able to finish sanding because there was still prep work they needed to do. Two days later, they were again supposed to finish sanding and stain. The worker finished the prep work and said the owner would be back to finish sanding and staining. When we finally got ahold of the owner, he said he wouldn’t be able to make it back. the next day, they showed up at 2 pm when they said they would be there at 11. They finally finished sanding and put the first coat of stain on. The next day, they came to finish the project but then they added an extra coat of stain and said they would return Thursday to finish buffing and put the coat of polyurethane. They never showed up. They said they would be done on Friday. Friday they never showed up. They didn’t show up Saturday either. They finally finished two weeks after they started. It’s a small room and could have been done in two days. We had friends who had their entire house done in less time than it took us to have one small room done. It was a frustrating process that cost us more time and money than we anticipated and budgeted for. Floors look fine, but I’m so tainted by the experience, I can’t even enjoy them. I just keep feeling like I was ripped off and taken advantage of.
