Back again. One of the best places ever for a sandwich. I had the Molly this time. Roasted chicken, bacon, provolone, ranch, sprouts & tomato on their focaccia. No side of Carrots! Just chips. Love the focaccia.

Nestled in the Hawley Green neighborhood of Syracuse’ Northside, Laci’s Lunchbox is a renovated Victorian style house, opened by the owners of the right-across-the-way Laci’s Tapas. My wife recommended Laci’s after a catered lunch at work, so I decided to check it out today. Glad I did. As I mentioned, it’s a renovated house on the Northside, so it’s not huge as far as restaurants go, but there is around 10 tables that seat 2 to 4 each. Beautiful wood floors, warm colors, and a fireplace make it a very comfortable setting for brunch or lunch. There’s only on street parking, which I didn’t have a problem finding a spot, but can see how it could get hard on a summers day. Breakfast and catering are available. They also offer a variety of flavored coffee drinks. I found prices to be reasonable and fair. The owners, who are the ones behind the counter, are extremely friendly and will gladly explain their menu items to you if youve never been there. My lunch came out quickly, though there werent too many people there at the time. There’s about 8 different paninis to choose from, along with a couple different soups and salads and a selection of fresh smoothies. Paninis can be made with foccocia, or gluten free white or wheat wraps. Each comes with a chocolate chip cookie and a bag of chips — Lays plain, pretzels, or Cheetos. Today, I tried the Luscious, topped with roasted chicken, swiss, and their Luscious sauce. Very tasty. The chicken is seasoned well, and the Luscious sauce is awesome. Sweet but savory and tangy at the same time. I also tried a Summer Breeze smoothie, made with lime juice, kiwi, strawberry and watermelon. The smoothie was very tart and sour, a little too much for my taste, and I wasn’t able to finish it because of that, but it was certainly fresh made. The only reason I don’t give it five stars is for little nit picky things that are just my personal tastes. The smoothie being too sour, not enough of the Luscious sauce in my opinion, and all the meat in the panini was kinda balled up in the middle of the sandwich and I had to pick it apart and move it around to cover the sandwich. All just little things. I will definitely be back for more, and hope this delicious small business can get some more support from the community. Well done!

This place is top notch with fresh ingredients and inventive combinations. Of all of the sandwich options in syracuse, I would put this in the top three. The staff is friendly and accommodating. There is a lot of pleasant outdoor seating. They are also talking about having outdoor events in the evening which would make this place a wonderful community gathering place or destination for those living outside of the neighborhood.

Solid three-star restaurant with food different from what is normally served at most sandwich places. The prices were decent as were the portions sizes and it had a nice atmosphere inside with a friendly staff. My reason for a 3-star rating was that I did not think that the sandwiches were spectacular compared to some of the other places that I have tried in Syracuse such as Street Eats and Darwin’s(rated both 5-stars). To be fair, the food may not be for my palate. I would recommend this place to people that want to try sandwiches with a lil twist(such as the addition of bean sprouts).

Just wow! You’ll feel like your best friend said«sit down, lemme whip up something I know you’ll like!». Almost want to keep this my secret spot, but can’t believe there were only 3 Unilocal reviews. Great REAL food, happy staff that cares if you’re there, mellow atmosphere. Prices even students will love. Spoil yourself and go to Laci’s. Small menu but everything on it is amazing. Heading there this weekend. Glad snow is gone!

Laci’s Lunch Box, the latest venture from Cindy Seymour and Laura Serway! Full disclosure, I have a long history with the ladies, they took over the Café at the Palace Theatre back 8 or 9 years ago and I was a regular as I live right around the corner. Then came the Burger Joint down the street, then the Tapas Bar and now the Lunch Box and I have loved them all! The Lunch Box has a similar menu to what they offered at the Café and the sandwich choices at the Burger Joint but they’ve kicked it up a notch with some creative specials and a great ambiance. I usually get a Hawley wrap(the Hollywood if you ever ate at the Café) with some of their great soup! Corn chowder is by far my favorite but all Cindy’s soup recipes are awesome — someday I am going to get my hands on that recipe book of hers! Bottom line — go to the Lunch Box, have a great sandwich, soup and a cup of coffee(did I mention they import their own brand of coffee too?), you won’t regret it!

What a nice surprise it was when I found out that the owner of Laci’s Tapas Bar were opening a lunch spot in the Hawley Green neighborhood. Here I am, about 10 – 12 visits later, and I still get excited each time I go here for lunch. Laci’s offers warm panini sandwiches, hot soups(2/day usually), coffees, and smoothies. My favorite sandwich thus far is the Molly, although the 1 or 2 others I’ve tried when I first started coming were excellent as well. Cost for a soup and half a panini is $ 7, which is more than a deal. Each meal comes with sliced carrots and a chocolate chip cookie — seriously, how cool is that?! Service is friendly and fast, and parking is on the street outside. Give this place a try if you are looking for a break from the Brooklyn Pickles, OIP’s, and fast food joints in the area(no offense to any of those establishments listed :)

I’ve dined at Laci’s Tapis a few times and was very impressed with their creativity and delicious offerings so I thought I would try their Lunch Box across the street on Green. One word. Phenomenal. My friend both had the soup and sandwich combo and we both think this is something special. Tomato Bisque the best I ever had and the Laci Paninni with roasted chicken, guacamole, sprouts and more was lip smackin good.
