They have the BEST French onion soup around! My family has gone here for years and it’s always wonderful. The food is spot on and it has a nice and cozy feeling. Don’t be fooled by the«older» look of the building!

St. Patrick’s Day 2016, and everyone is at Coleman’s or downtown. I went to Morgans late, and ordered the corned beef dinner. Wow. It was amazing. Perfectly cooked, with small red potatoes, cabbage and carrots. About 6 weeks ago, I’d gone to Coleman’s for one of the worst corned beef dinners I ever had, what a great surprise to find Morgan’s just about ½ mile away with this amazing dinner. My son had the chicken alfredo — grilled chicken on top of the alfredo and he loved it. I also liked the quiet dining room, NOTV’s, how refreshing to be able to talk while you eat. They make a wicked good martini too!

I’m very happy to say that they are back in form. We had a really nice Sunday lunch with friends and all 4 of our meals were excellent. The Pork Normandie, succulent and full of apple calvados flavour. The salmon, perfectly cooked and very fresh. The Sauerbrauten, 1st class and a really tasty strip steak. Friendly service and terrific value. I really recommend it for Sunday lunch so you can check out the Sunday specials. Be sure the complete wine list is available. Somebody is careless with the key sometimes!!!

2nd visit: update since our last visit. Our first visit was good(details below). Our second visit was a pickup order which was one of the entrees we ordered the first time, the seafood trio. The first time it was excellent but when we had it this time it was not the same. The flavor was not as good and there was no lobster. The shells were there but there was no lobster. When I called to provide feedback there seemed to be some confusion with the telephone. I was passed off to three different people. Finally when I spoke to someone she questioned me about the dish, asked for my number and said someone would get back to me. There was no apology, she just hung up. It’s been four weeks and still no call back. Was the first visit just a fluke? 1st visit: We came here for our 6th month anniversary. It’s a quaint restaurant in a residential neighborhood. The décor is dated and I wouldn’t recommend it for a special occasion, but there food is good. The seating is hard and uncomfortable. My boyfriend and I ordered two seafood pasta dishes… The seafood trio: lobster, shrimp and scallops in a creamy lobster sauce that leaves the lingering flavor that lobster bisque does. The scallops in particular were delicious and cooked to perfection. We had the calamari for an appetizer. They don’t over bread them and it is made fresh from scratch. they use fresh oil and don’t overcook them. The presentation wasn’t great. Their mayo dipping sauce was good, but it’d probably pair better with a lighter sauce. Shrimp Diablo: It was not spicy, as expected. With a little more kick it would’ve really delivered. Service: The service staff was inconsistent. Our server was excellent but there was another lady who seemed so preoccupied with her own world that she couldn’t be bothered with customers even though they only had a few people dining.

One of my favorite places for a good meal without a crowd and lots of noise. Small and quaint. Lunch & dinner menu appears to be the same right now. Specials always offered. Last«take out» turkey dinner was tasty, but too salty and did not taste like fresh cooked turkey. Only disappointment I’ve ever had here. Desserts will please! We’re lucky to have this friendly restaurant so close by. Will not be offering lunch this summer :-(but appears pub menu will be available. Best to call to be sure.

around 7 or 8 years ago, i would go out of my way to eat here once a month. i am addicted to high quality cheeseburgers. they HAD the bomb as far as i was concerned. the quality of the meat has fallen drastically and they overcook medium every single time. they need some better management in the kitchen, but; are happy serving mediocre fare…

Food was okay. Waitress was rude. Owner signed up for electronic coupons but wasnt setup to accept them so the coupon was rejected– this is a false promise /false advertising.

This was probably my fifth or sixth visit to Morgan’s and the first time I’ve dined. We chose to sit in the cozy little pub space and the hostess had no problem honoring the request. The dinning room itself is pretty spacious, but we were just finishing cocktail hour with friends so we wanted to stay with our loud group near the bar. I had the salmon special, which was special in that it was cooked perfectly. Even the thin part of the filet was not dried out or over done. Obviously someone prepared it with care. The sides are standard and reminded me of a home cooked dinner with my parents circa 1980, which was not unpleasant. Our waitress was brisk but not unfriendly and seemed really pleased when we ordered the homemade Baileys chocolate pie. It is in a word, incredible. The crust is perfectly flaky, the chocolate smooth and served with fresh whipped cream. So many reasons to break your diet and order it. We made plans to go back just for dessert very soon. So I used the ladies room and this is where the missing star is. It was clean, but they have one of the cloth hand towel things you pull down for a fresh section, and the wet section hangs. To me it’s like seeing fly tape. Hello hanging germ catcher.

Great food, great service. I come to Syracuse every 4 – 5 years to see family and we go out to a different restaurant each time. This year was Morgan’s. Very happy with my Saturday special, the Steak Morgan. Large portions, fresh tasting, warm friendly atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.

Three of us went to lunch. The food had no seasoning. I had the open steak sandwich which came with no seasoning at all. Steak was fatty. The sides of vegetables and rice also had no flavor or seasoning. My husband had the crab cakes and stated these were the worse he ever had. It’s sad the good used to be good here.

Friday night at 5:45 my husband and I go out to have a meal. We’re rudely met by a hostess who tells us in a mostly empty restaurant that they are completely booked. Maybe two tables sitting. If she had not been so short with me and rude I may think about coming back, never again. Horrible customer service and extremely unpleasant!

Nice hometown restaurant. Food and service was good. Great for a local, unpretentious night out. Reminded me of cheers… everyone new everyone in the bar room. Very much appreciate having this restaurant up the road from my home. Just moved to Onondaga/Camillus last September from downtown ‘Cuse and really wish we had more non-chain restaurants. I hope the residents of West Vale and surrounding areas support this locally owned establishment!

Great spinach salad with strawberries, coconut, grapes, grilled chicken, and raspberry vinaigrette! Filling. And the Baileys Irish Cream pie is not to be missed. Nice, cozy, quaint, homey atmosphere. Good service if not too crowded.

Good prices and good, consistent food. We love to come here on Fridays for their haddock. We never make a reservation because we are«those people» who come later. I would suggest making a reservation if you go during normal business hours.
