Sandwiches are delicious and reasonably priced. The sides I’ve had are great as well, and the family that runs it is very friendly.

I love their cold meat subs! They have a lot of different options to choose from. On another note since I am pregnant I chose to go with the steak sandwich with mushrooms and onions and a side of fries. My fries were delicious, nice and crispy. My sandwich on the other hand was not. I ordered a half thinking it was going to be a half sandwich. Well, they just put half the amount of steak on the full size sub roll. My steak had no seasoning and there was barley any steak in my sandwich it seemed. The fries were the best part of my lunch! I made better steak sandwiches when I worked at Gino and Joes. The décor is dated and needs to be updated. The walls look like they need either a nice cleaning or a different paint color. I will probably be back, just not for the steak sandwich. I will go again when I can eat lunch meat again.

Seriously, I’m sure after 3 years the workers have gotten well by now! This is a little sandwich shop in a strip mall that is NOTHING like Subway. There are many sandwich choices and combinations, hot or cold. Corned beef, ham, cheese, salami, chicken, liver wurst, roast beef — seemingly endless combinations, and reasonably priced. Home made macaroni and cheese is just OK on Fridays, but sometimes they offer a wonderful home made broccoli salad with sweet and sour dressing. Also on Fridays they sell wonderful fried haddock with fries, big portions. I really like their food, the service is fast, the people are friendly, and prices fair. However, the décor is kind of home-made grubby 50s, there is no jukebox as you might expect, and it’s hot in the summer(no air conditioning).

I used to eat here a lot over the course of 2 months. Nifty Fifties is a sandwich shop like Subway and similar in price. You can eat in or take it to go. The sandwiches aren’t bad but… Seriously, every time I ate here I saw something disgusting. The lady who made my sandwich had a cold the first time I was in. I decided to ignore it and came back. A week later she was still stick. I saw a guy manning the grill once blowing his nose and then handling the food. It was like each time I came in the people behind the counter were ill and just gross. I talked to a coworker about it and his experience was the same months after my visits. Do the employees have some sort of continuous infectious disease? I don’t know. I haven’t been back in a long while and take a longer drive to Subway.
