I got take out here on Christmas night, my father and I got the pork lo mein, pork fried rice, and tangerine chicken. Everything was pretty average taste wise, some of the chicken tasted under cooked but the rice was better than most Chinese places in the area. I do believe I over paid for the food(total of 4 items was a whopping 43 dollars), so I’m not sure if they over charged me or if the prices on the menu aren’t correct or what but the food was certainly not worth $ 43. Probably won’t be back.

Cheap and delicious lunch. I had the sweet and sour chicken with white rice, and it was filling and good. I also had some hot and sour soup which I thought was pretty tasty. The lunch menu is very basic and doesn’t offer a lot of choices, but this is better for those of us that have a hard time deciding(like me). I also liked how we got complimentary hot tea at the beginning of our meal. It was very quiet, which I thought was strange being so close to campus and being a Friday afternoon when we went. But, the service was quick and friendly.

This is a pretty middle of the road Chinese restaurant with a terrible name. Panda West is an SU staple that offers traditional Americanized Chinese plates and some more authentic dishes, and they serve up the best hot and sour soup I have had in town. The sweet and sour chicken was so-so; it was very sweet and not very sour. The ‘fried’ rice is just yellow rice that has not been fried. But, this place is a dinning experience. They have complimentary wonton bits and delicious tea. It’s location is the only real reason it is still open. Pretty mediocre décor and food(outside of the soup). I don’t see it making my weekly rotation of eateries.

Worst chinese food I have ever had, hands down. The only spice they use is garlic. The beef in the beef and broccoli was like waste scraps of meat. The sauce was disgusting and tasted like water with garlic. The vegetables had no taste and were limp and soggy. Even the duck sauce tasted like colored sugar syrup. Even the fortune cookie was stale as all hell. I will never eat here again. So terrible. Worst food ever. I can’t believe this place is still in business. My friend got sweet and sour chicken and it was equally terrible.

The service and décor are good. The rice was a little dry and the veggies slightly undercooked, but the delicious shrimp and sauces made up for those. Crab Rangoon was good. I recommend the amazing prawns.

A great Chinese restaurant near campus. Not many colleges that I know of have something this cool. Excellent Wanton soup and great dishes. The service is outstanding. You sit down, and it you’ll be eating within minutes. This is excellent for college eats. If you’re not in the mood for takeout, you must come here.

This is a wonderful clean Chinese restaurant. This is not a little hole in the wall take out nor is it one of those large crappy buffets all you can eat. This place has been consistent for years. I am so glad that I stopped in again. The food is consistently good high-end and fresh gourmet Chinese. People complain about the prices are high however it is in a high rent district and it is quality Chinese food that you don’t see too often. If you want cheap food go to a buffet or that little hole in the wall takeout place becauseyou do get what you pay for. The lobster song appetizer was fantastic. super healthy and super tasty. The free wontons that come at the table are delicious and fresh as well as the dipping sauce. Pleasant servers highly efficient I’ll be back!

Panda is my all time favorite Chinese restaurant in Syracuse! The service & staff are great. Their lunch specials are priced well too! I’ve tried several things on their menu and never been unhappy. Anything you get there will be great!

The food comes out fast and the options allow for a night of fine dining or a casual lunch/dinner. The service is extremely polite, even though english can be lacking among certain wait staff. The food is authentic, however, décor is outdated. Overall I think it’s the best Chinese restaurant in Syracuse. My only change would be updated décor and the addition of seasonal menu items.

What a great surprise! My expectations were honestly low but this is a really great little place. VERY clean, and the food is great! Not something I’d compare to a larger city or what you can find there but a very solid place for Syracuse. Will be back:)!

amazing, the best chinese in Syracuse. Go at least twice a week. Mala chicken and ginger chicken are both amazing dishes. Lunch prices are also very reasonable.

What can I say? I’m not going to come all the way from San Francisco to have Chinese food in Syracuse. We all have our desperate times. Rice, overcooked. Ribs, dry and tasteless. Vegetable«chow mein» was goopy, bland, unappetizing. Soup, too sour for a hot and sour, or whatever they were going for. I would never say this in a million years, but I would eat Panda Express over this place. That should say it all.

Panda West is probably the best Chinese food I’ve had in Syracuse. Their only competition around the campus is from the cheap takeout places. My friends and I would always come here for the amazing lunch special: costs about $ 8 – 9 total including tax and tip. You get your choice of soup(we usually got the egg drop wonton mixed soup) and an entrée(the shredded pork in garlic sauce is delish). It also comes with a bowl of rice and some appetizer«chips» and dipping sauce. The staff here are very kind and were always more than happy to refill our bowl of chips when we finished before our meals came. I came here a few times for dinner, and the prices are definitely higher, but still in the $ 10 – 13 range. If you want Chinese and you’re near the SU campus, this is the place to go. It certainly ain’t NYC, but it’s not a bad consolation.

Clean, quiet restaurant. We were seated right away. Water, tea and menus followed. We ordered a House fried rice and General Tsaos chicken, as well as wonton soups. Food came out fast. I like their food being delivered on a small cart. Servers were friendly and food was awesome. The HFR had plenty of everything including eggs, yum! The GTC was crispy and with enough sauce, not greasy or felt heavy, nor spicy. It was perfect for our liking. We were happy and will be back for sure!

More than your average Chinese takeout. Brown sauce is actually«garlic sauce» — full of minced garlic and delicious. Fried rice is actually fried, not the weird yellow stuff you see sometimes. But nothing is overly fatty or oily. I recommend anything and broccoli(chicken, shrimp, or even just plain veggies) with garlic sauce and brown rice, and a cup of Wonton soup.

This restaurant is great. I have eaten here about 10 times and the food is delicious. My favorite is the sesame chicken with a side of sautéed broccoli in soy sauce. I really enjoy eating in the restaurant the service is great. They give you tea and some awesome fried chips with duck sauce. I often order take out for lunch from here. It is ready in 10 minutes and I am on my way. The owner is very nice and he often throws in some free wontons. For the quality of the food the prices are great. I very much enjoy this restaurant and look forward to eating there again soon.
