I loved this place when I was in college and a few years after I graduated. I found it to be a massive Westhill bar(at least it was the majority of the people in the bar every time I went in). If you are under 25 this is a nice place to be. Can’t speak to the food though.

Food was OK but service was poor our waitress kept looking at her phone and watching TV not paying attention to her tables. She kept talking with other waiter oh yeah forgot where the only people there Will not be going back.

This place is dirty and gross. We were the ONLY table in the bar. The bartender forgot half of our drinks. He flirted with the female bartender that seemed to be on drugs. I only assume because they were talking about where to pick up fringe later that day. The bathrooms have some really inappropriate vending machines. It’s a brew pub but had no beer on tap. Although with how dirty it was we probably would have gotten sick. Do not go here!

A little skeptical at first but food was awesome! Only problem is… they are between Brewers so beer selection is limited. Still enough beer to make most pretty happy. Service is awesome… very attentive!

I just… I just don’t know what to say. Beer was nasty and food was not much better. Do they ever clean the lines for the drafts here? I tried 3 different draft beers and they all tasted skunky. The only reason I gave it a 2 instead of a 1 was because they have decent live music but still, I will not be going here again.

This review is for my experience on 5÷29÷15 with a date. The restaurant was fairly empty and the service was good. I can’t remember what we ordered but I know it was fine. By Armory Square standards Suds is rustic and reasonably priced. It’s always possible to be seated. Suds is not my number one destination on the Square but it’s okay.

I can honestly say I wish this establishment was a pleasure, a friend of mine sold me on their wings and moreso their service. We had a bubbly waitress, Jolee, who tried her best to make our experience worth our while. The service was sublime due to her hospitality, but in reality, the food was subpar and the only reason I would ever return would be due to the excellent service I received. Other than that… eh. The bartender/manager, could have stepped up her game, but instead she was inhebriated and served a dose of disappointment to me and my guests. If you are in Armory Sq, there are finer establishments worth your time.

Upon asking if they do flights, I was told«Usually we do, but we only have two of our beers on.» What?! I was really looking forward to trying their cherry weizen, among others. They had their pale ale and sweet stout, both of which were decent but definitely not worth a trip. For such a huge facility, I was shocked to hear they only had two beers on. Definitely call and see what they have before you visit, because this was kind of a disappointment. I am hoping they pick up as we get later into spring and summer.

Suds is a good place to go. I usually don’t go downtown without stopping in here. When there are a ton of people it’s fun and a jazz band makes it even better. A lot of times I’ve been here it has been pretty bland though. The bartenders are all very friendly and when not busy hold great conversations. When it is really busy it is definitely difficult to even get to the bar though, it’s wide for a bar but doesn’t really help. I don’t have any major complaints, but nothing really wows me here either. I recommend it to people that ask, but I wouldn’t make this my only stop of the night.

Can you choose zero stars??? This place sucked. Everyone was a jerk, even the patrons. We sat there for 30 min for a waiter/waitress to no avail. Are you effin kidding me? Do you want to make money? I hope this place dies from bad reviews and thus a lack of customers. You could win this town of you had any sense of management or even customer service. I’d rather get beer at chucky E. Cheese and I am not even sure that they serve alcohol. We left and will NEVER come back. I suggest you do this same when considering the Dud Factory.

I came here because their website advertised Friday happy hour– free food and $ 3 house brews. Came in and felt like I was back in the 80s– such a shame considering the venue space itself is pretty cool. The free bar food was pizza which wasn’t too bad at all. What really got me was that all their taps were gone. Literally. I wanted the black cherry-out. Pale and brown ale– out. We had to wait 15 minutes and they ended up giving us honey white which was actually pretty good. One of the employees explained that the brewer had passed away and that the owner was focusing on other business ventures so his usual 6 tap was reduced to 2. The bar women were really nice and apologetic about the changes and missing food. The crowd is much older, where I’m a young professional. It’s very unlikely that I’ll be returning, but to their benefit, the staff was really nice.

Beautiful building but broken, old and dirty furniture everywhere. When I made my entrance, the cook was stared me from the entrance to my table, what was that? My table was almost flipped twice, it will flip if I didn’t pay attention. Ordered open face Reuben, it was good but I was eating alone because it was empty and when I was done and left, the street was very busy with folks. Wow, that tells you something. Will not visit again.

Probably my least favorite bar in Syracuse. Dirty, smelly, and just overall not a good choice.

While visiting Syracuse we went there on Saturday night for a drink, we are a huge breweries/beer fans with my boyfriend and it was right next to our hotel so we had to check it out. The night before we went to empire. The first thing that i thought when i got in was that it does not look good, and it is not appealing. We just sat by the bar and watched some football and had some beers. I was surprised that there was not many people. we went there around 9:30 pm and left around 11:30pm and not many people arrived during that time either. As for beer the place is great. it was $ 4 for a beer, and it was really good. Empire was $ 5 for a beer. In empire is a lot more people, and it seems like more«younger» people go there and like it is more popular. However for a people who dont like loud and crowded places i would say its a great place. I was there only once so maybe it gets more crowded at different times/days. We didnt have anything to eat because we went for dinner to Dino bbq, but beer is good. I would definitely come back to have beer.

I went here many years ago. I could not remember the quality of the food. I recently started working in the city and am exploring the local places to eat. I will not return here because the food is OK at best. The place itself is dirty, the tables are sticky and the floor is just way too nasty. I did not plan on going here, I went by mistake because I get two places confused.

Bar tender was hung over and rude. The beer was warm and flat. The place looks like it was stuck in the 90s.

Greasy, soggy and tasteless. The single worst place I’ve ever eaten. From the looks of it, I figured I was in-store for a Fridays-level dining experience. That is an insult to every Friday’s in the country. This place is just totally gross.

Watched Syracuse nearly get pwned by Stanford here. That was probably the best part of the experience. The food all looked nasty so we didn’t get any. Our server Ashley was an absentee waitress. She took our orders and then left, returning with our beers about 15 minutes later. Maybe they were microbrewing them specially for us? Our DD ordered a gingerale, but she never brought it — we had to hit up another waitress for that, who seemed annoyed that we’d bother her while she was busy serving the only other table that had anyone at it. When the time came to pay, Ashley was quick in bringing the bill but never returned to pick up the cash and bring the change. After waiting about 10 minutes I just went to the bar and had them do it there. Maybe self service was what we were supposed to do from the beginning? In any case, with Empire Brewing company right down the street, with arguably better beer and better food, I can come up with no explanation as to why Suds Factory continues to operate.

Poor service, poor food. It has been known by locals that the Syracuse Suds Factory does not have good food. I’ve been disappointed many times by business lunches put on by people that don’t know any better. Syracuse does not have many brew pubs so after some years away I gave it another chance. I went with a group of 4 on a Sunday afternoon. There were no more then 4 other groups there. Poor Service: The waitress did not know answers to questions like«what is the soup of the day?» and answered the question«what is the sweet stout like?» with«um, it is sweet, and um it’s dark» A waitress in a brewpub should know more about their beer. Poor Food: The food took a long time, with no assurance it was on it’s way. When it arrived the steak had a large portion of ft and the«garlic bread» was plain store bought white bread with garlic salt on it. I had the usually safe fish and chips, they were fine. So this place lives up to its reputation of poor service and bad food. It is perhaps better frequented on weekends by the young 20’s drinking crowd. By the condition of the bathroom(very dirty, profane writing on the walls, broken and taped together items) it appears that is the type of place this is, not a brew pub as I know them. Of course we were billed wrong.
