Infuriating experience with TAG Mechanical in Syracuse about my water heater. They have been here and have misrepresented about its having started leaking a couple of years ago. They’ve pretended something else was wrong; wanted to do an un-​needed augmentation, didn’t replace the tank which was still under warranty. When I finally confronted them this year about it, when I talked with them last week, the service manager said the tank would be covered under warranty but I would have to pay the labor of approximately $ 300. When I called today to find out when they were coming to replace the tank they told me that the «labor» was $ 1400! When I looked up the price of the replacement tank, it turns out that it’s about $ 1100. So they are misrepresenting the costs and really charging me for the tank and the labor under the guise of just «Labor». They won’t stand behind the product or their work. The misrepresentation was particularly jarring and outrageous. I will never use them again! Be warned!
