At first I was reticent but the jerk chicken I had left me breathless, it would be uncivilized not to recognize the talented chef and owner of this place. So here it is this joint is delightful.

Very, very good! I had the jerk chicken dinner. I wish they had roti on the menu though.

Absolutely delicious food that hits the spot for any authentic brown stew chicken! The only thing I would say is to check for bones vs meat ratio. However, the food is truly tasty and not salty and truly run by my Caribbean folks! I will be back to try cornmeal porridge(my favorite) and dumplings(another favorite). They have my business totally. As far as ambiance, don’t worry about that! It is a typical Caribbean joint that you want. This is not that nonsense Bahama Breeze hybrid of crazy fusion fake Caribbean food. This is the stuff you get on a hot day in Brooklyn or on the side of the road in parts of the Caribbean. Enjoy!

Best jamaican food that i’ve found in Syracuse! Not too spicy and freshly made. I cannot say enough good things about it as its become my go to spot when i am craving jamaican comfort food. Great oxtails, peas and rice, etc!

I stopped here for a quick lunch and was really happy with my decision. The jerk chicken had a great spiciness without being over the top hot. The rice and beans definitely could use a little more, but I guess that’s why the owner offered me a cup of «extra spice». It turned some pretty good rice into a tasty little fire on my plate. So the cabbage.. .. it’s delicious. Really, i’m not kidding. I don’t know how to explain it but you have to have it. The best part of lunch was the corn fritters though. I can easily see myself becoming addicted to them. Its pretty small inside, so if you have a big group you may want to get it to go. If you do eat-in you’ll meet the owner who’s extremely nice and is always running around making sure everyone is happy. She’s boisterous, not shy, and makes eating there a good time. I only wish the goat had been ready for lunch time. I guess that’s a reason to go back, not that I needed one.

This is HANDSDOWN some of the BEST Jamaican food I’ve ever had in the USA. I had the oxtail with rice and peas and some friend plantains — all very delicious. The oxtail tasted just like my mother’s home-cooked oxtail. Actually, it tasted it even better. I can’t wait to try something else on the menu. Maybe I’ll try the jerk burger the next time I order. My boyfriend had the jerk burger and absolutely loved it. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I wanted to check out a good Caribbean restaurant because being from NYC there never was a lack of good Jamaican food. We’ll let me start out by saying if you want good, and I mean good authentic Jamaican cooking then you must check out this little gem in downtown Syracuse. I had the curry goat which was well seasoned with potatoes and carrots, rice and peas, some shredded cabbage and carrots and some sweet ripe plantain. My wife had the oxtail which had a thick and delicious brown gravy also with potatoes and carrots. All I can say that this is hands down the best Jamaican food I have had since moving upstate. If you want to experience some true carribean cooking then definitely check this place out. They also have escovitch fish, curry chicken, jerk chicken, and brown stew beef. I will be coming back again. And I also want to add how friendly and accommodating the staff is.

I am a kind of bland kind of guy, but there was good stuff here for me with the slightest kick. The fried check was great. The beef stew was superior! The waitress was the best!

Food is very good compared to NYCJA spots. Great traditional Jamaican flavors. Prices are reasonable. I have been there twice so far, will be going back real soon. Friendly staff.

I went for lunch and loved it. The ox tail stew, curry chicken, jerk chicken salad and Jamaican beef patty… All worth it. They have your basic diner sandwiches and burgers too if it isn’t your thing. Atmosphere wise, it is clean and your basic diner environment. I will go again for sure.
