This is a great place to get a good, basic breakfast. If you have a little time I would recommend this place definitely over McD’s etc. The pancakes, French toast, omelettes, and biscuits and gravy are good. By no means the best you’ve ever had, but for the price it’s a great little down home place. My family has been going here for close to 20 years.

The waitress was nice, service was average, along with the food. But the problem came once I went to the checkout, I had a $ 6.70 bill. Granted I don’t care about the difference between $ 6.70 and $ 10 dollars, but the waitress just gave herself a $ 3 tip and handed me $ 0.30 back. It was her assumption that offended me.

My family stops by here almost every time we visit syracuse. It’s a cozy little place with good albeit simple and ordinary breakfast eats at very good prices. It also seems like the place to be for locals to come and catch up with each other. My only complaint about this place is that it’s cash only! I had to drive to the bank across the street to get money to pay for my meal.

We went for breakfast. It was just okay. Nothing special.

Wawasee Café is the kind of place that a presidential candidate might stop in and talk to the locals… everyone has an opinion. You can find 80 year olds that went to high school together reminiscing over lunch or breakfast. The wait staff is friendly and everyone knows about their kids and family. It’s the kind of place you really don’t need a menu. Be adventurous and try the grits. Take a minute to read the humorous plaques on the walls. I wish they didn’t have a smoking section; at times the smoke wafts over to the non-smoking section.
