Disgusting… Never in my life have I tasted food this bad. I don’t how they are still in business. The ribs were tasteless and the sauce is horrible. Never again… I only gave it 1 star as it is required to make the post, and that is giving it too much credit.

I will say who ever didn’t give this place a 3 – 4 star is an idiot when it comes to BBQ this place was the best I have had in town. Beats dicks and famous daves. Will be back again and again. I will have to see who’s better mine or his. Close call though. Only bad thing is sauce needs to be hotter for a mild and more napkins upfront but all in all great friendly restaurant.

Didn’t even know this place existed. The owner is the son of a friend, who’s father started the business years ago. It was totally worth the trip to hilltop. Ribs were fabulous, tips just as good, greens were on point and so was the Mac n cheese! To top my meal off I even indulged in some yummy peach cobbler.

They were closed on a day when they were supposed to be open. I called and called and called but there wasn’t even an answering machine. So I went over so I could order lunch in person for some co-workers, and found that they were closed(even though the sign with open hours showed that they were supposed to be open). This is no way to run a barbecue joint. Here I was willing to give this place a chance despite the other negative reviews, but now I’m not really planning on trying to go again.

I have to say the name of «Bob’s Bar-B-Q Pit» is a bit misleading, since from what I can tell they don’t actually have a pit. In BBQ parlance, a pit denotes a large vessel where wood smoke is used to cook and flavor the meat. If they have one, I could not see nor smell it. They may try to get away with this on a technicality, since when I ordered my BBQ pork sandwich, the guy who took my order slopped a scoopful of meat and sauce out of a container and into a saucepan, where he heated it up on the stove. A saucepan does not a «pit» make, sir.

I really like their BBQ sauce. It’s probably too tangy for some folks, but it’s all about personal preference. Their meat is always juicy… somehow I didn’t like their pork but beef and chicken are great. It comes with cheap white bread you’ll love. I usually eat with white rice at home because the sauce goes really well with it. They used to serve dirty rice but I haven’t seen it for a while… miss it. My favorite is beef rib tips because they’re cheaper(I mean everything is very affordable here) and have cartridge you can chew on… it’s odd but I like that a lot. You can buy their BBQ sauce too. Takeout is a good way to go with this place… so that you can go home and drink beer with great BBQ!

I gotta say I love BBQ. When I saw this little place in hilltop my naïve mind though«how authentic» and I went right in. The inside had a no-frills décor that was fitting to a true BBQ restaurant and the staff took my order right away. I had the pulled pork sandwich and spicy chicken. The sandwich was great and enjoyed every bit of it. The chicken on the other hand was not what I expected. The sauce had a good burn to it but it was way too tangy for my taste and I simply couldn’t finish it. What made the whole experience uncomfortable was that there was a television showing a «Jerry Springer» episode with the usual fight between a man and his transexual lover. During that time the employees kept making statements like«look at that f#*king faggot» and«I can’t stand those fags». yeah… made me a bit uncomfortable
