We hired Chef Anna to cook a dinner for two. It was really good! We enjoyed our meal and we will be contacting again.

I have been having Chef Anna cooking for us for the last few years on a weekly basis. I suffer with health issues so I really depend on her and I have been so pleased. Her meals are always delicious as well as nutritional. She’s flexible when I’ve needed to change things up due to my migraines. She’s such a pleasure to work with, delivers our meals with a smile and a true joy! In addition she’s affordable. I don’t know what I’d do without her service! I look forward to every meal!!!

I am an extremely satisfied customer of Chef Anna Cooks! I received a Gift Certificate from a friend for a week’s worth of meals which included 5 entrees and side dishes fit for a queen. Chef Anna arrived at my house promptly on time(despite the fact that she had to come over to the island on a ferry that was late), and went right to work. Before I knew it, she had performed her magic and I was tucking into some of the best food I’ve ever had. The sweet bourbon salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted green beans was a delight, her beef and Guinness stew and artisan bread was a comfort on a rainy day, and the chicken pasta was perfect. I had wondered how the food would stand up over the week, but found Chef Anna’s containers for each meal clearly labeled, with instructions regarding the refrigeration and reheating absolutely easy to follow and the food tasted as fresh as the first meal. She brought her own cookware and my kitchen was cleaner after she left than it was when she arrived. This was a marvelous experience; a whole week without having to shop for groceries, and having the extra time to relax instead of preparing meals was such a luxury! I highly recommend Chef Anna to anyone who is looking for the perfect gift to give or who would like to have a gifted, knowledgeable chef save you time and the bother of grocery shopping and cooking. For Christmas 2014 I purchased a gift certificate for my parents from Chef Anna Cooks for 4 weeks worth of meals(5 dinners a week) and I can honestly say it was the worst money I ever spent. When I first reached out to Chef Anna in November, she was quick to respond and very friendly. I told her all about the situation, how my parents were getting older and meal planning had become a burden, but eating takeout all the time was just making their ailments worse. From our first phone call she knew that they were located in Issaquah(she is based in Tacoma) and did mention it was a bit far, but also said it would not be an issue. There were some minor communication issues after Christmas… I could have sworn we agreed to meet a few days after the holiday before I returned home to California, but after a couple days of being unable to reach her, I finally heard back saying that she was taking a vacation. Of course, she is entitled to vacation, but I should have been notified when we discussed meeting after Christmas. Annoying, but not really a big deal. A couple weeks later my mother had to contact me because Anna had not replied to her email. Anna said she had not received it. Fine, I thought, as first-time emails can often get caught in spam. Finally an appointment was made. The way it works with Chef Anna Cooks is that she is supposed to send over the menu plan a few days prior to the appointment. The appointment was fast approaching and my mother had not received the menu so I intervened again. Chef Anna said she had not sent it because she did not have their address and therefore could not enter them enter her software. I had sent her the address back in November when she asked for it. I forwarded her that email. She got snarky and something along the lines of she could not find it and would I rather she«drive around aimlessly looking for it without an address?» With that kind of attitude from someone I am paying, I should have asked for my money back right then. She came for two weeks and my parents said the food was excellent so I felt that we were good now and I was happy. The next week, my parents found out a few days prior to the appointment that she would not be coming due to some conference that she attends every year. Fine, but if you go every year, more warning should have been given. And then things really got bad. The next week, she did not show up. No call, no email, nothing. My father called but there was no answer. They did not hear from Chef Anna until two days later explaining that she had been sick. Now, that is a bummer, but to just not show up without communicating is unacceptable. Remember, Chef Anna does the meal planning AND the grocery shopping, so this left my parents without dinner groceries and without a plan. Still, we gave her another chance. The next week, she was a no-show again. The next day, my parents got an email saying that her car had broken down. Another bummer for sure, but my parents and her other clients should have been the very first phone call she made after the breakdown, even before the tow truck. You don’t just not show up and you definitely don’t not show up two weeks in a row! At this point, we had all had enough and I told Chef Anna that we no longer wanted her services and I asked for a refund of half the gift certificate. She refused, so I am out over $ 500, but I would rather that be the case than risk Chef Anna not showing up yet again and leaving my parents with no plan and no groceries for dinner. I was really excited about being able to give my parents the gift of a personal chef so that I could help them from two states away. Now, due to Chef Anna Cooks and her unreliable and unprofessional service, they have eaten worse than they were previously due to last minute options and have no interest in trying a different chef service since this one was such a bad experience. I highly recommend you look elsewhere if you are looking for a personal chef.
