This Color Run was so much fun. Even though the city of Tacoma wouldn’t allow the runners to carry color packets throughout the race, there were still plenty of opportunities to get busted up with color. We started at Cheney Stadium in a big line and they let groups off every 10 – 15 mins so that there is less chance of a jam up at the color stations. It was a beautiful day as well and it was very well planned out as well with the police force and blocking off of streets and such. There were at least 4 or 5 color stations for you to get coated. They used color powder for this run. I’ve heard that other color runs use wet dye which is harder to come off your skin and hair. This color powder came off with no problem in one shower. If you’ve thought about doing a color run, you should just do it. Feel free to wear a tu-tu or dress as crazy as your want and just have a good time. You get a free shirt, you get blasted with color and have a major time and the money goes to a good cause. You can run, walk, trot, gallop, saunter, Harlem Shake, cartwheel, or twerk your way toward the finish line so don’t feel obligated to do one or the other. I will definitely be doing another color run, when one comes up. Also, I’ll say that it’s kind of like art in motion once everyone gets colored. You see green gremlins and pink ballerinas and orange ogres running along to get to the color party at the end where if you didn’t get any color during the race, you DEFINITELY will get some there!
