Fancy Nails

This is a great place to go. They’re all very friendly and do great work but don’t take to long. My whole family loves a day at the salon. Thanks guys!!!

Please don’t waste your money on this place!
First time going there I wanted to give it a chance .it looks really old…(dirty) but A friend recommended this place because it was cheap place to get a full set. I usually pay $ 35-​$ 40 on my nails but this place charges 25 $ which I wanted to try out. Let me tell you. BIG MISTAKE! The lady did my nails so messed up! I pointed out so many flaws she decided to give me a discount! I promised myself never again! But again I decided to give that place another chance. So I did. Wow the second time was worse then the first. The embarrassing part is the owner Linda did my nails. And shes really bad at it. I have pictures to show and man I tell ya please go to a place that’s cleaner and workers that know how to do nails. I’m not a hard person to please I just want clean cut nails. That’s all I’m asking.

I really hate to give a business 1 star but I just can’t let other fellow Unilocalers fall into the same trap I did. When I found this place it only had a handful of reviews, (my 1^st mistake) and they had a 5 star rating.
First off, I gave this establishment multiple chances to get it right and I almost thought they had it until the last straw…
My 1^st review was written a day too early and obviously I was some kind of delirious, if only I had taken a picture of my full set. My husband couldn’t even help himself and commented on my child like design that the lady had done. My pedicure that I thought was good, turned out to be continuous pain as she dug in so much I had bleed on both big toes:(
I went back and allowed the shop to try and correct the 1^st visit and the owner Linda assured me that she would take care of me and she did for a few more visits but each time I was never 100% pleased, either my shape wasn’t consistent or my polish job was thick and uneven. I was about 2 stamps away from getting the discount on my last visit but I had had enough, sadly to say.
Myfinal straw– I went in to have a fill on a Tuesday around 4pm and by noon the next day, the repair she did had broken again and 2 nails had chips on the edges. Observing my nails in more detail I noticed how thin the acrylic was and how much of my nail was thick gel polish, uneven at that so I returned to the shop the next day and asked to speak with Linda privately. She didn’t seem to agree with me on what the issue was? I told her I wasn’t happy with my nails, the repair she did has broke within 24 hours and the my nails were uneven and chipping already… she was busy and at that point I was already spending more of my precious time wasting away, so she asked if someone else could do them and I agreed. The technician didn’t speak English, so I had to tell Linda what I wanted done, as they both again didn’t seem to understand my issue so I had to say I want my FILL redone, please.
As she removed my polish both pinky nails had cracks in the acrylic and the chips were actually chips of acrylic that had broken off, probably due to the fact that they were so thin? who knows but all I know if that my nails should not look like this less than 24 hours after paying $ 35 for a fill and gel color. She fixed them ok but I knew from then on I wouldn’t be coming back since I had most likely burned my bridges by telling the owner she did a poor job.

Only came for the cheap manicures. Please make sure that their tools are sanitized!

I really am sad to have to give this salon one star. I searched Unilocal for 20 minutes trying to find a reliable salon based on reviews. This salon had only one negative review out of many good reviews so I decided to give it a chance. The ladies were very nice and able to take me as a walk-​in right away. That’s the reason for the 1 star. The pedicure I got was painful. The soaking tub was extremely hot, she cut too close on the toe edges resulting in wincing and the paraffin wax treatment was way too hot! I woke up the next day with painful, swelled up toes AND a crack and smudge on one of the nails. Definitely NOT worth $ 30 w/​the tip I gave her. I’m really disappointed with the Unilocal app as a result. I nievely trusted the reviews. Next time I will stick w/​friends I know and trust.

The staff is nice. I was helped promptly. However the manicure and pedicure did not go as well. Bleed 3 times (one toe, two fingers) and instead of wiping it off they painted over it. I was so disgusted, I cut the manicure short. I couldn’t even bring myself to tip. Which I always do. Very disappointed. Will not be back.

Came here on a recommendation from a friend. The girls there were great and very fast. My gel manicure lasted such a long time almost 3 weeks and no chipping! I was only forced to take it off cuz my nails had grown out so much. I removed my gel polish as recommended, I was expecting my nails to be a complete wreck but they weren’t as bad as I thought they would be. They were more brittle on the end so I just just clipped them off and voila my nails were manageable. My 4 yr old daughter got her nails done and the lady that did them was so good with her! Only down side is that the ladies didn’t speak much or very good English. The only negative thing I have to say is that they spoke to eachother in their language which I feel like is bad etiquette.

I am very pleased and have been looking for a tech who could shape well and do design, this place has got it! Linda *nailed* the shape perfect and Michelle did such a good design job, I will definitely be back!

Attitude is so important to me, and that’s why I’m reviewing this salon. I appreciate that I was made to feel welcome and valued as a customer here. I’ve received many compliments on the French manicure I received here, and it has lasted well. I will be back.

I didn’t intend to do an informal review of Tacoma nail salons, but I have been disappointed with the last few places I tried so I came to Fancy Nails. I was pleased with the kind and professional service I got during my pedicure. They are centrally located and have a full range of services, including tanning, waxing, and obviously extensive nail services. The salon was clean, and they’ve been in this location for 20 years so they’re doing something right! I’ll definitely be back!

I have been going to this shop for 2 years. All employees are kind and helpful and they do take their time to do the best job possible. The place is clean and I agree with the other reviews; best pedicure in town! Their prices are competitive and the service is worth every penny!

Had a wonderful shellac manicure here in February! Best mani I’ve had in years! The owner did my nails and there was incredible attention to detail, the color lasted more than 3 weeks without a single chip! Price was reasonable too! Only downside was that she took her time (about 45 min) but I wasn’t in a hurry!

Excellent, friendly service at a very reasonable price. They always keep up with the current trends. Never a question about quality or attention to detail. Wonderful, caring, hard-​working business.

I have been going here since I was 5. The owner knows me by name.
They give the best pedicures in town. I use to get acrylic nails, and when I did they would last more then the twos weeks before in need of a fill. If you bring a little one in with you the always want to paint their nails for free.
I get my brows waxed here as well, and I am always happy with them.
