There’s a few reasons I am writing this review. First and most importantly, these are bar far the VERY best cupcakes ever. Customer service is awesome, friendly and they don’t rush you. I tried quite a few different ones, we tried the vanilla, red velvet, cookies and crème, carrot, raspberry lemonade, piña colada. A few of these were in mini form but the flavor was far from mini. Oh so delicious and so moist. My favorite would have to be the Carrot, I purchased some to go and they travel well, that’s for sure. Purchased on Saturday and was unable to eat them until Monday, would you believe those cupcakes were still just as moist as the one’s we at there. You can even go to their website and place an order to pick them up. I will say all the locals in Tacoma are very lucky to have this great bakery so near. Next time we’re in town I’m definitely stopping in to purchase some.

Amazing cupcakes! I was going to go for the plain vanilla, but once I asked what the best seller was, I had the cookie dough cupcake. I was skeptical at first, but it was surprisingly delicious! The frosting was so light and fluffy and a cookie was baked in the bottom of the cupcake for a pleasant surprise!

This place was our 5* go-to in the past, but yesterday I was surprised to find the cupcakes flat(literally) and seemingly over-baked? While also the prices had gone up by 25%. Wondering if they had a new baker or management? Perhaps they were sold? and are now cutting corners? Still tasted okay but not as amazing as they have been. Hope they get back to their glorious past. We will give them one more try and hope this was a fluke.

I live in California and wanted to order cupcakes for my daughter’s birthday. Her and her husband mentioned they’d been wanting to try this bakery. I phoned and spoke with Katelyn and she made some great suggestions. When my daughter went to pick up the cupcakes they had included some ice cream and Happy Birthday picks. It’s the little things that show great customer service. They went above and beyond and it’s truly appreciated. Thank you!

I’d say, best cupcakes in Tacoma. | s t a f f | Always so friendly, well-mannered, and nice. | a t m o s p h e r e | This is a doll of a place. Photo ops everywhere. It’s bright, pastelie, and sweet. They did a great job making this a sweet cute bakery. Sweet is such a good word for it. | c u p c a k e s | Don’t expect safeway prices but expect fun flavors and professional looking cupcakes. They’re always perfected and taste great. Always moist but not too soft! We love all flavors but the mint chocolate, vanilla, and coconut are our favorites. We enjoy getting the mini sized ones too. They have a rewards card for when you buy cupcakes! So if you buy for events a lot, don’t forget to grab one. You can also call ahead to see what they have left if you are coming closer to closing time. Great little conference/party room for rent in the back! Perfect for small baby showers and parties. Perhaps a tea party with cupcake decorating for your favorite little girl?

Great cupcakes!!! Not very good customer service. She was uninterested in her job and not very friendly at all. Cupcakes were delicious and moist. Sooooo good!

They serve the absolute best cupcakes ever! They’re a little pricy, $ 3 a cupcake, and a little over $ 33 for a dozen but MANOHMAN they are worth every cent. I went in to buy a few, the spring special the hummingbird, pink champagne, red velvet, caramel, and mint chocolate! My favorite was the Red Velvet for sure! I think everyone should come in at least once to try a cupcake, and if $ 3 for a cupcake seems a bit unreasonable they have minis as well!

my 4 year old daughter loves this place so I’m giving it 4 stars overall based on décor, staff and presentation. But honestly the cupcakes are 2 stars to my taste buds. The mini cupcakes are too dry. And the regular size are too rich and large in size. A cupcake between those 2 sizes would be ideal.

By far the best cupcake place I’ve been to yet in Washington. The cupcakes were a bit dry but not to the point that it turned me off. Overall they were great. We loved the Hummingbird cupcake and I got the Pink Champagne cupcake which was very satisfying. With a good location on Pacific Ave next to all the museums it’s a great place to take the family after going through the local attractions.

EXCELLENT! Stopped in on Sunday while the boyfriend and I were downtown and grabbed four cupcakes to go. When I got home I tried the mint chocolate. Normally I’m not a chocolate cupcake person but the mint sold me. After about two bites I can say it’s the best cupcake I have EVERHAD. Moist, with a rich 60⁄40 frosting-to-cake ratio. The frosting was firm so it didn’t blob all over the place. The next day I had the vanilla one, almost as good as the mint! The sweetness definitely came from the frosting-the cake part was more about the flavor. And the next day I had the carrot cake. Three days old but still SOGOOD! Firm due to time, but the frosting was toned down more than the first two to really show the carrot texture/flavor. These cupcakes are dangerously good!

Cute little shop with tons of yummy looking cupcakes! I ordered a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting and shared with my hubz. We both thought it was moist and delicious! I also liked that it was 2.95 for 1 rather then 4 like trophys. Frosting to cupcake proportion was perfect, will come again if ever in the area!

The cupcakes are much more appealing to the eye than your mouth. just know that going in. You may come a across one or two that are okay. but nothing outstanding. Stick with the Red Velvet it’s the safest or the carrot. They get an A++ for presentation, but a majority of the cakes are so dry, not very moist or memorable. The icing was even hard this time that I could pull the icing off in one piece… turn it upside down and stick a fork in it… and have the fork stay upright. I keep going forgetting how yuk they were but then I’m quickly reminded when I take the first bite… with an «Oh yeah. that’s right. not good» Please make these taste as good as they look!

I’ve had Hello Cupcakes bookmarked for quite some time so when I received a gift certificate for a dozen cupcakes, I was pretty excited. I decided to pick up some cupcakes for my son’s 13th birthday as a special treat. We decided to go with the Elvis, vanilla, butter pecan, and hot cocoa. I really wanted to like the cupcakes, however, I wasn’t too thrilled with them. The cupcakes were dry and not moist. The Elvis which is a banana cupcake with bacon bits tasted just like banana bread. The hot cocoa wasnt too bad. Hello Cupcake is a cute little place by UW but unfortunately it won’t be my go to cupcake spot.

I love this this little shop and their delicious cupcakes. The location is in the area of Tacoma where the Glass Museum & State Museum are located. There is a limited amount of street parking in front of the shop as well. This is definitely one of the cutest bakeries out there. Starting with the adorable bicycle on the sidewalk. Inside the shop has a few shelves of cutesy merchandise and décor that makes the shop very inviting. The cupcakes are displayed on cake stands where you can easily check out the line up while you decide on your flavors. Cupcakes are moist and flavorful. They carry basic flavors like vanilla and chocolate, but they also have special flavor rotations. The special flavors are my favorites.

Oh, Unilocal. Why can’t we have a ½ star? Hello, Cupcake benefits from rounding up and for maximizing aesthetics for what is an average cupcake shop housed in a lovely, airy, inviting space. The shop is bright, light, and white with fun lighting in the windows and clean merchandise spaces. The cupcakes are easily visible, showing off on clean, white cake pedestals. You can buy cards, candles, candy, and cupcake toppers along with your cupcakes and beverages. The flavors are fairly standard with a daily limited special. We popped in after Sunday brunch and there were plenty of options to choose from. The plus? Plenty to choose from. The minus? How fresh will they be by the end of the day? And will the overstock reappear the next morning? The cake itself was good, but nothing that makes you think«maybe I won’t mind not fitting into my jeans» while reaching for another one. It was good. The best part was the balance of sweet and flavor in the frosting. Some may think this is heresy but I don’t eat cupcakes for the frosting. The frosting needs to complement the cake, and here this shop wins. None of the frosting was left behind. Overall, it’s not a bucket list atop, but if you’re in the area with a sweet tooth calling out for attention, stop by.

This place is adorable but the cupcakes were not as amazing as I hoped they would be. I got a red velvet, cookie dough and mini vanilla. The vanilla cupcake was bland and the frosting was too sweet for me and I LOVE sweet stuff. The frosting on the red velvet saved this cupcake. It was creamy and perfectly sweet. But the cake its self was disappointing. The chocolate chip cookie dough however will get me to go back. It was perfect all the way around. The cake was moist and it tasted like a chocolate chip cookie I will give this place another try. Hopefully it’ll be better a second time around.

Delicious cupcakes at decent prices! The location is in a trendy industrial spot by UW with plenty of parking nearby. The gal behind the counter was friendly and helpful. I appreciated that they have just a few flavors available — better to do a few things great than a bunch of things mediocre. I also appreciated that they have mini cupcakes in case you want to try more than one flavor. I went with the regular sized plain vanilla, which was delicious. My fiancé ordered a mini s’mores and a mini cookies n cream and enjoyed both. A great dessert spot for sure!

I’ll put this upfront– I know that the majority of cupcake consumers prefer a «moist» cake and«silky» frosting. This place has that. –I, on the other hand, prefer a dense solid pound cake like cake and a light, not greasy buttercream. I don’t like the the«moist» cake. It’s so oily to me! My aunt-mother surprised me with a four pack of pretty gourmet cupcakes That were almost too good looking to eat. They certainly do a great job with the décor! Interesting flavors, too. I remember piña colada, pink lemonade, vanilla and I think chocolate. I’d like to see lavender on the menu! :) As far as customer service and pricing, I can’t give any input. But if you’re looking for a pretty cupcake, unique flavor and like a «moist» cupcake, give them a shot.
