Kerry’s Caribbean Takeout

I was super stoked to try this place and took the opportunity today. I stopped at their truck on Market Street. My partner and I both ordered the Jerk Chicken Sandwich, one spicy hot and one medium hot. When our order was called I was warned by the man making the food that they were really hot. I reiterated that one was supposed to be medium and he quickly re-​fired my sando. We grabbed our goodies and headed to the park. Our sandwiches smelled delicious and were filled with vivid with bright peppers and fresh onions. On first bite I knew something just wasn’t right. The chicken was horribly undercooked. I pulled a chunk from my sandwich and pulled the jiggly chicken apart to find it still pink and slimy inside. Yes, I understand that it is thigh meat and should be a touch pink, but this was raw. Gross. After blowing chunks trying to get any possible remainder of my first bite out of my body, I returned to the truck with our sandwiches. I don’t even know if the cook looked at the food that I had returned. The new girl told me that she had temped the chicken this morning, well it is afternoon and I got some slimy jiggly grossness. Now I am staying within 20 feet of the bathroom because my guts are rioting. I called the Health Department.

Very fresh, and perfectly spiced and I felt like I was in Caribbean. Owner is from Trinidad and the menu has a great selection of things such as jerk chicken, curry, and roti. To follow where food truck will be, please see facebook page:
