This is the best dentist I have had. He is kind, professional, explains things well, has a nice staff, and does great work.

To give some context, I saw the same dentist (who will remain unnamed) until I was about 22, and always hated it – that one was always yelling at his hygienists, who took it out on patients by being rough and on-​edge. But then I switched to Dr. Laviola, who I saw for two years until I moved out of state, and I wish I could still be his patient! He is extremely friendly, but in a genuine way, so don’t be alarmed by his little shoulder punches. He clearly values his employees, and they’ll explain everything in normal language. Their office equipment is really modern, and I appreciated the ability to schedule appointments on his website (
), where you can also make payments, see his credentials, etc. He and his staff don’t judge if you ask for nitrous; in fact, they’ll offer, and there are TV screens in the ceiling to watch if that’s something you like. (Watching an elephant being birthed on Animal Planet while doing laughing gas is not to be underestimated!) Dr. Laviola’s particularly sensitive to patients who have anxiety when it comes to dentistry, and that’s not just to try to get new patients — it was something he took time to address during my first visit, and there were constant check-​ins during subsequent visits to see if I was comfortable. I’d go back if I didn’t live a thousand miles away.
