Le Noir Bazaar

I’ve been to this place twice, and I like it so far. My husband went to college in Tacoma and we live in Seattle so it’s a bit of a drive for us now that he’s finished school. I like that prices are reasonable here and there’s enough room in the store to look around and not feel smothered, even though it is a boutique store. I need to make more trips there, especially since the holidays are over!

I only wear dresses. I literally can’t remember the last time I wore pants. I just love dresses and this little store has really awesome ones. I am in here probably on average every other weekend just to check for new things or ones I might have missed on my last visit.
With small boutiques like this, I sometimes find that sizes can be a problem. I often see a variety of dresses in size small. I am never going to fit into a small. It just isn’t going to happen. THIS store though, has a really wide range of sizes going from small all the way into plus sizes. Also, I think the prices are really reasonable. The dresses I have bought from here have been about $ 40 and they are really well made. They are also not things you are going to find in any other store. This is another important factor for me. I love uniqueness.
Every time I come in to this store, the same woman is working so I am assuming she is the owner/​one of the owners. She is very friendly and I am sure would be super helpful if I ever actually needed help with something.
I have also just discovered that the store has a website so if you see something in the store that you like but maybe they don’t have it in your size, you can check for it on the site!
One more note I would like to add is that from the outside and I guess the inside too, this store looks like it mostly is meant for those who are into dark and/​or gothic fashion. If you are not, don’t just pass this store up. There are some really cute black dresses in here and great gothic/​victorian style romantic dresses but there are other colors/​styles as well. I have a lovely dress from here that has different shades of lavender and a cute white dress with some green accents.
I can’t think of anything else to say about this store right now but it’s a great place!

I have complicated fashion tastes. On any given day I am fine with wearing a casual mens shirt and jeans from Target. Yet when I do my costuming parties I am looking for very precise things for my motif. I jump across lots of boundaries. During costuming events when someone asks what I am and I tell them my «title» for my costume and they are more confused than before they asked I know I did a good job on the costume.
To gain momentum for such motifs I have to go to various clothing stores or shop online. Sometimes I want something that is classified as goth or Steampunk. Sometimes I want something that you would see at a rave. Sometimes I want something that only drag queens would wear. Sometimes I want something from a good old fashioned costume store. Currently though I am into cyberpunk clothes. I know, labels, labels, labels!
Moving to a new town can be difficult when your former on site staple stores are 1,300 miles away. Researching on the internet helps when you are looking for new staples but there are some stores that slip through the Google cracks. Something I learned a long time ago. In addition to researching at home it is good to just start hitting the streets on foot and looking with your own two eyes.
Case in point with Le Noir Bazaar. I was in the antique sector of town and came across this store. I have done several searches for gothic clothing stores in the area but never got many precise hits on the matter.
The store is geared for women. So as a man if I wanted to dress in men’s gothic clothes I would be out of luck. On this occasion I was. They did have merchandise that was impressive though! They had lots of great corsets and velveteen dresses which looked beautiful and would be a goth girl’s dream come true! They had make up products and a nice assortment of unique smelling soaps as well!
The lady that worked there was very nice. In trying to get more familiar with the town I asked her if there were any goth clothing stores for men in town. She said that there were not. She said the closest store that carried goth clothing for men was The Metro in Seattle. I mentioned Bedlam bedlam too. That is also a gothic clothing store in Seattle and while I have not been there I have been told that you can get guy’s goth wear there as well.
While I did not find any new staples on this visit I will definitely be back! I have made a mental note of their make up selection for future motifs of mine as well as their soaps. I will go here and restock on soap once my current stockpile of handmade soaps is finally depleted!

Adorable shop, friendly staff. I know they have events but due to the structure of my evenings I don’t make them. They carry clothing from ChicStar, among other brands, and can handle «regular» and «plus» sizes, which is less common in alternative clothing shops.
You can also pick up Portland Black Lipstick Company goods here, if that’s a thing you’re after — I wish they were less scented!
Come in, look around, probably leave with a few more things than you knew you needed. I mean, who doesn’t need raven skull earrings?

Went in with a small group of friends and even though not all of us were dressed alternatively we were still kindly welcomed and treated nicely from the beginning… which I’ve found doesn’t always happen in other such places.
The store’s name caught me first… it’s a great name and it really draws you in and catches your attention. The atmosphere was very nice with lots of lace and glittering pretties that made me want to blow my whole savings LOL
They offer a wide range of clothing as well as lots of accessories that fit many sizes and shapes all for decent prices! Your purchase is also wrapped nicely which I’ve always loved and gives it an extra special touch for the shoppers overall experience. They also threw in a sample soap which smelled divine!
All in all I would highly recommend this place for the serious Gothic lifestyler to those who are merely curious.

Bottom Line: Great new boutique with reasonably priced basics for goths and alternatives. Wide range of sizes for everyone from pixies to the big and beautiful.
Antique Row has slowly been remaking itself… and it seems clothing boutiques are the big new thing. Many of the new offerings haven’t excited me… but A Little Touch of Magick does.
OK — I wear black every day — to the extent that my neighbors will notice and comment if I wear even a touch of something else… so this is my kind of store!
Amanda was working the day we first visited and she told me their mission is to serve the «corporate goth woman» that needs reasonably priced things to wear. The prices here are VERY reasonable, for instance many dresses are in the $ 50 to $ 60 range and some are even less! They have a lot of sale racks for the size of the store and a nice variety of looks… ranging from Lolita to Steam Punk.
For those of us who wear black every day, finding basics like good, long skirts or basic blouses that are inexpensive can be difficult. They have a nice variety of separates and ensembles. Girly girls into tutus are well served here. ALToM really fills the dark niche nicely.
They also carry a great line of goth make-​up and perfume from Portland… the name escapes me. Fabulous, heavily saturated lipsticks and heady roller ball scents.
Round everything out with a smattering of jewelry, shoes and gifts… a great store for the Tacoma alternative crowd. We needed this!

I love this place! I now finally have a local store to go to to pick up some spooky clothing for a decent price without having to order online or get used, faded out clothing (which I don’t mind of course, just like new usually)
They even have books and jewellery as well and a cute little Steampunk inspired café is right next to it. The whole setting and surrounding area is awesome.

Hello heart of all things wonderfully dark, it’s so nice you’ve made a home in Tacoma! I love this store. It’s packed full of all things that softly coax out your dark side and let you spin and twirl in the light with it. They’ve taken goth out of the back alleys at 2am and made it comfortable for anyone with or without pink hair to shop here. Here you can find just a little touch of dark romance woven into each item of the store. From elegant jewelry made of bird bones (really elegant is the right word!) to lacy corseted dresses that take at least a full size off of you, to vintage anatomy items, to stuffed two headed dolls. The space is one touch Victorian, one touch Vampire, all touches fantastic!
The staff is friendly and know how to help ease you into this style or add just the right touch to your already packed closet. The merchandise is fresh, well edited and comes in a great size range.
Go ahead, make it in. I bet you’ll be surprised at just how many items you find yourself secretly and outwardly hearting too!

What an amazing store! And the only one of its kind in Tacoma! Finally the south end people have this type of store. I suggest everyone check it out, the owner is a lovely friendly woman, her assistant and employees were all very helpful. And I was amazed at the wide array of items they had. The clothing is to die for! The jewelry and accessories were so cute and creepy and sparkly!

I stumbled upon this place yesterday while looking around down town Tacoma. I was so pleased & surprised to find such a unique shop so close to my home… I usually have to buy my «goth/​spooky» styled clothes online! They had such unique stuff & even if you arn’t goth they have super sexy corsets & such for other occasions. Anyways I am glad to have «A Little Touch of Magick» here in Tacoma & hope others find it as well!
