A mixture between a deli and a gas station. If you want a quick dinner you can call in to order and then pickup some drinks while retrieving your meal! They have small seating up from inside and out. They also have a big back room with a normal tv.

MSM is legendary in Tacoma, and I finally got to eat there. The sandwiches were good. I can’t say they were incredible, but I will definitely be back!

Their sandwiches are always delicious, fresh, and packed full of stuff! I recommend ordering ahead of time, as they are ALWAYS busy. Whenever I go to pick up sandwiches there is a wait if you are ordering there. I love the Mikes Deluxe, toasted — with everything. It is filling and tastes great. You can also order your sandwiches on different types of bread, which I do occasionally as well. The chili is tasty as well. I don’t think you can go bad with whatever you order from here!

I grew up four blocks from here, so I’ve known about(and loved) MSM since the mid-90s. It’s the best deli in Tacoma, hands down — the sandwiches are huge and delicious. The Mike’s Deluxe is great, but I usually go for the Italian. Unless you’re going at 10am or something, call your order ahead! There are lines going out the door during lunch hours. They also have a kickass beer selection, and it’s turned out to be the only place I can consistently find Salsalitos chips. In closing, you should definitely go.

MSM is my favorite Tacoma staple, hands down. They’re always so nice, efficient and have the most delicious sandwiches.

Really awesome shop. They bring a small business east coast feel and it’s family. Does it matter that the hoagies, subs, sandwiches, whatever are seriously well done? Grab some chips, and a drink and if the sandwiches aren’t enough the pickles are awesome

This place is a must stop if you like sandwiches. Period. First off, if you are in a hurry, call ahead with your order. Orders usually take about 15 mins. They are always VERY busy. Second, when you call, don’t take the person’s shortness as rudeness. They’re just very busy, and the longer they’re on the phone, the longer other customers have to wait. The sandwiches are amazing! They start at 6″ and you can order anything on the menu to fit your appetite. The Deli Club is my go-to, as is the BBC. The Mike’s Deluxe is also one of the most popular. All of the ingredients are fresh. I’ve been coming here for almost 3 years, and I have yet to have a sandwich that did not live up to the hype. They also do party subs, if you have the need! If you want to make it a meal, they double as a convenience store. The beer selection is on point, so if you need bottle/can to complement your meal, look no further. They carry everything, from your staples to some of the more obscure offerings. This is not a place you go to for the atmosphere. It’s pure value. You get a large quality sandwich for a good price. The building may be a little dated, but their focus is behind the counter. Definitely hit this place up next time you’re in Tacoma!

These sandwiches were just ok. Not bad but not that great like everyone makes them sound. The guy at the front was very quick and nice but the sandwiches were just meh. I was expecting to be blown away since these reviews made it sound like they were something outta this world but hey we left stuffed… just not impressed.

Sorry excuse for a sandwich shop. Not sure how this place passes health department inspections. But at least you can buy cigarettes with your crappy sandwich, so there’s something…

MSM stands for Magical Sandwich Makers and well, that pretty much sums it up. I did not know it was possible to improve upon a simple tuna sandwich until I introduced the little slice of heaven that is the Pacific to my tastebuds. It was MAGICAL.

When they say don’t judge a book by its cover, MSM is a good reason to abide by that saying. I have only recently been eaten here due to some friends who finally pushed me to do so, and I couldn’t thank them enough for doing so. I have lived in the area for 3 years and have heard about this place but it just visually never appealed to me. After ordering here, my outlook has completely changed. It’s a nice deli and the sandwiches are out of this world! I have found myself going back for more and there are no signs of stopping! Thanks MSM!

The positive reviews are spot on. If you’re looking to break away from the chain sandwich spots, give this place a chance… simply put, they make a really good sandwich, at a very fair price.

Biggest sandwich for the price! LOVELOVELOVE this place. You would never expect it from looking at the exterior of the building. I don’t think I’ve ever been there and it hasn’t been busy. YOUMUSTGOTHERE! The Mike’s Deluxe is a go-to.

This is my favorite sandwich spot ever. You can never go wrong with a Mike’s Deluxe. The sandwiches are huge, the staff is friendly, and the place is busy. Keep in mind that this place ALWAYS has people in there. Always best to call ahead with your order. MSM does have a mini mart within the deli that allows you to pick and chose sides with your sandwich. I would eat here everyday if I could.

«All I gotta say is two words: Mike’s Deluxe.» *drops the mic* **crowd goes crazy** Seriously. This is what happens in my head when I think of MSM, especially their ‘Mike’s Deluxe’ sandwich. Again, another totally unassuming place– a convenience store off 6th ave. Who would ever suspect a convenience store to house magic sandwich makers?!? Not I. More cool things this place boasts other than its amazing sandwiches and humble appearance: — You can dine in or out! There’s seating in the front and back. Make yourself cozy. — Being a convenience store, it sells beer and wine and all that other jazz! And by other jazz I mean water and milk and soda. But seriously– their beer selection is rather impressive for a store of such stature. Tons of craft beers, a variety of ciders… You will find your favorite, or at least something new to try! — The owners and employees are such down to earth people. They are real, hard working, and always kind. They are the real MVPs. Last tips: * Add avocado to your sandwich! * Don’t overlook that pickle wrapped in a napkin and stuffed into your bag alongside your sandwich. It is there for a reason. It is so freaking tasty. Pretty sure they sprinkle crack on those pickles.

Today was my first visit to MSM. Thought I’d be really impressed due to the large number of great reviews. Didn’t enjoy lunch as much as I thought I would. Ordered a BBC without onion. It just an average sandwich. I should have said no mayo. There was way too much mayo, so the sandwich got slippery and hard to eat. My least favorite part was the wait. It took 20+ mins for a two sandwich order. They definitely work quick, but there were a lot of people there for lunch on a Saturday. Also not a huge fan of the environment. It’s an outdated, kind of dirty place. The bathrooms looked bad. The food was decent, but this isn’t going to be a place I recommend. Sorry, MSM.

The suns fades gently, wrapping your body in a warm red glow that slowly disappears behind the water. With the light gone gentle surf sounds fill your ears. It is easy to weep with all of this beauty, then you realize there is still half of that MSM Deli Club left to eat and your heart kicks up a beat in anticipation. This symphony of deliciousness is a sandwich that changes moods. MSM is legend in the 253. Even though this site only records three check ins here there are countless more because I was probably preoccupied with my sandwich. These folks are magical after all. The Deli Club sandwich: a combination of thinly sliced turkey breast, crisp bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato and sprouts all on french bread. Their bread is not crusty sharp or too chewy either. Mayonnaise is on there in a healthy schmear. Any outdoor lunch or dining experience is enhanced with one of these sandwiches. About the shop: it is like an old school mini mart from the 1980s. There are even pictures of the Marlboro Man on the cigarette racks. They offer a great selection of beer, drinks, chips, candy, and incense. In fact I even saw C batteries in there today. A true Tacoma institution. Tips: if you are impatient call ahead. For those who like ambience, eat outside in a park of your choosing. MSM is not there to serve your inner needs beyond some hearty grub. The crew is great and make it happen. They sell t-shirts and I’m getting one next time to share my MSM love with the world. I have never had a bad experience at this place.

A MAN’S MAN Review of MSM Deli on the 6th Ave. Bean sprouts! The only place that you can get bean sprouts for your sammies! Jimmy Johns use to have sprouts but after the e. coli scare they stopped. Jimmy Johns got skuuurddd so they no longer have sprouts. Boo-hoo Jimmy Johns! Located at the end of 6th Ave. right before Division St. is this deli that serves delicious sammies! Probably the most popular sandwich is the Mike’s Deluxe. It’s a good size sandwich with the fixings between two sliced loafs of white premium bread and did I mention it comes with bean sprouts? Oh yeah, you get a pickle too. Place is kinda sketchy from the outside and stepping inside it doesn’t get any better but no worries. Don’t let the inside put you off. Just focus on the sammiches being made! Watch as the gifted sandwich worker make perfect sammies. There is maybe two cons about this place. The first negative is the long wait. Your not the only turd that knows about this place and everybody and their momma comes here to get a good sandwich so your gonna have to wait. It’s recommended that you call in your order. If it’s your first time then I would definitely stop by and take a look at their menu if your undecided about what your gonna get. I think for a first timer the Mike’s Deluxe is a good choice. If you don’t like bean sprouts your a weirdo but you can always withhold the sprouts. Just like at Burger King… have it your way! Weirdo! Shhheesh! I think the only other con about this place is that you smell like burnt bread afterwards but I guess if you smell like hot a*s and corn chips to start off with then it doesn’t really matter right? The place is a deli shop but it does have a variety of soft drinks and chips to choose from. There is a backroom with additional chairs and tables to sit at. Again, really sketchy back there but not like«creeper hang-out» scary but if it makes you feel any better there are some old school tube TVs to keep you entertained while you attack your delicious sandwich!
