Everything seemed fine until myself and my family went to get started to get something to eat, I noticed right away the silverware wasn’t clean and they were out of cups for nearly ten minutes so I had to find someone and tell them that’s there’s people wanting to get drinks and there’s no cups and the silverware isn’t properly sanitized and cleaned. I realize it can be busy and they can’t keep up but to put out silverware that isn’t clean is absolutely unacceptable. The entire time we were there I only saw one person cleaning and serving customers and that’s even worse no wonder why things run out from cups to silverware. First and Last time eating at this place

We have been long time customers of the Lakewood location. We are very disappointed that one of our favorite places to go has declined so much. The food quality has declined over a period of time. The service other than one waitress and the young man that cooks the steaks has also declined. I have been very disappointed during our past few visits. We were hoping that it was just«bad» nights, but it the quality of service and food has steadily declined. A couple of nights ago, they ran out of ranch dressing, the sour cream was so spoiled it looked like cottage cheese, the ice cream machine is always either our or not working, the milk machine is always out of milk, and tonight they didn’t even have any dishes or silverware out. What did they expect us to eat on, our hands? It has just become the worst restaurant on our do not go list.

It’s been awhile since our last visit so we decided to give them a try again. They updated the food and give military dicount now which is awesome since they took it away before. The night we went the food was great. The waitress kaci I had was amazing. I lost my earring in the trash and she helped me by digging it out with her own hands. She was so sweet and kind to do that that I contacted the manager and had to let her know. Sure will be going back now!!!

I haven’t gone for a long time to this place. The reason? The 2 last times that I went, the silverware was dirty, when I told to the person in charge she didn’t say anything and she didn’t do anything! So I decided don’t go back never. I am giving to them 2 stars because I like their Mexican section, their pumpkin pie and their corn bread.

Me and my friends decided to visit the Old Country Buffet for the first time in 7 years and it was such a disappointment! We’re a group of Asian high schoolers and I think the American food served there was unbearably unappetizing. I’m not going to get too detailed about it but the orange chicken was soggy, macaroni salty, grilled cheese excessively buttery, pizza was burnt, the ice cream machine was broken, bathrooms were dirty. Countless food spills on the floor. Food wasn’t quality, only the drinks were acceptable. there were too many negative things at the OCB that ruined our evening.

You get a lot of food for a cheap price. …it’s a $ 12 all you can eat buffet in a shopping plaza, not a fancy Las Vegas buffet. Don’t go expecting anything fancy. I’m here in the area for work, and have been eating out every meal for the last week. I just wanted a big salad, and figured a buffet was the place to go. Salad bar was pretty small, but I got my salad fix. Had a piece of baked chicken and some cooked vegetables too. It’s not all unhealthy food. There are some healthy choices too.

This is the wose buffet around. The food is old, the staff are unfriendly and the quality of customers, well, it’s next to a bus depot, you figure that out. It seems that this place has no standards when hiring or putting food out. Will never eat here again. Plates and silverware were still a bit dirty. The salad was brown around the edges and the soup has a wierd looking film on it it.

PEOPLEBEWARE!!! The most filthy restaurant, if I would even go as far as calling it a restaurant. People beware. this is such a horrible place. Dirty dishes. Not one person in there could find a clean dish. The kitchen according to the Manager, was just rinsing the dishes and sending them back out. Yuk… glad to know I can share someone else’s saliva. Gross just gross. The food was cold that should have been hot. I seriously doubt it was being kept at the required temp to avoid major health issues. I complained to the Manager, she offered me two free buffet coupons. AREYOUKIDDINGME? I would not step foot in that place again. However we did have the sweetest waiter. He also told my husband and I that they have had a lot of issues with the health dept. Oh thats great! I called the Health Dept this morning. I will not stop until something gets done about this place. People BEWARE! Please don’t take your children there…

I wouldn’t say I was impressed. The food was decent. I will try again just to make sure it was not an off day for the cook.

Our server/busser, teddy was helpful and friendly. He got the table cleaned quickly without hovering. The food was good, we went for brecky, and lunch. Play your cards right, you can go in time to get waffles and fried chicken. Boooyah. Go closer to tail end of breakfast but not so late that it’s icky.

A MAN’S MAN Review of OCB in LakeHOOD Old Country Buffet also known as OCB will always have a soft spot in my little black heart. It was officially my first real job as a young punk back in 1997. I was 17 years old and still in highschool. The job sucked and minimum wage was a little over $ 5 per hour. Now, s’all good in the neighborhood! OCB has been part of Lakewood since the early 90s. Back in the days when the Lakewood Towne Center had a mall. There was the old department stores like Mervins, Gottschalks and Mr. Rags. Target was connected to the mall and the old Safeway location is now where City Hall is at. Back to OCB. Like I said this place holds a special spot in my black heart so I’m a bit bias. What you’ll like at OCB? Let’s start with breakfast on the weekends! Waffles and pancakes! Check! Endless bacon! Check, make that a double check because we talking about bacon! Orange juice! Ohhh yup! Imagine buidling your own waffle or pancake plate piled sky high with whip cream, syrup, fruit jams, melted butter, and a side of sausage links or bacon or… both! … and then there is the fried chicken! Who doesn’t like fried chicken! There is also baked chicken but we talking ’bout the fried chicken! They even serve fried chicken during breakfast! They also serve prime rib, ham, turkey breast, steaks, ribs, and other American home-made style food entrees! There is a mix of Asian but it’s more fast food Chinese style fast food, Italian, and BBQ entrees. There are without cons at this place. This place can get busy especially during the dinner rush on the weekends! Breakfast is only served during the weekends and ends at 1030 so best get there early for the breakfast all you can eat! When it’s busy things tend to get neglected. So if you don’t mind the mess and can look past certain things then your experience at OCB should be a positive one. I always leave a decent tip for the person that is clearing your table. It’s just common courtesy. They may not be a waitress/waiter but they are clearing your mess and the countless plates you’ve gone thru over a period of 2 hours while eating at OCB. So leave a them a bone atleast! What’s a couple $$$ more? A warning to ya’ll with the sugars(diabetes)! This place ain’t yo place! How you gonna have diabetes and then mess around with OCB? C’mon yo! The local fire dept. and medical EMTs visit this place a few times more than they should and they are not there to eat at the buffet. Location is at the Lakewood Towne Center plaza so your not gonna have any problems with safety. A lot of parking in the area.

The only reason this place gets 2 stars, is the breakfast. And that’s only if you have a coupon. Do not ever pay full price for this place, and do not bother going for lunch or dinner. I dont even know where to begin. It’s been in a steady decline over the years. When I was younger I loved it… $ 8 all you can eat, what’s not to love? Well, absolute filth everywhere. Dirty dishes, dirty utensils, dirty floor, misc food scraps around the serving area. Undercooked food, over cooked food, piss poor selection. The variety of foods has increased in recent years, but in doing so they have removed a lot of the only foods that made the place worth going to. For a period of time, they did little steak like food products that actually tasted decent if cooked right… which was hit or miss. But they have recently done away with that as well. So now, you have undercooked roastbeef, over cooked ham, fried chicken that is mushy, dry mac and cheese, old veggies, the list goes on. The most unfortunate bait you will fall for is the«ribs». Once yiu realize that the rib bone you plucked from the filthy serving bar is only about 10% edible… you have had enough and you realize that it may finally be time to call it quits with coming to ocb for anything but breakfast. Which, has also become quite mediocre. In addition to this, I noticed a very unhappy staff. They put on the smile and give great customer service, but there seemed to be far to few employees per customers ratio. These people need some help keeping up with the work that needs to be done. Perhaps if management would hire a few more people, they could at the very least keep the place clean.

The staff seem nice but overworked. The food is tasteless and it feels very dated. Kind of stuffy and dirty. It ain’t cheap either. Once again the staff I really believe are doing the best they can.

This is not a good place to eat. They go for quantity over quality, obviously, but the food is bland and in impressive. The orange chicken is a Panda Express knockoff made with recycled chicken parts. The pizza hasn’t spent enough time between the freezer and my plate. Even the salad has a metallic taste to it that makes me wonder how long it will be before I pray to the porcelain god. I will spend more time in the bathroom because of this visit than I did eating the food. I regret coming here.

Not sure why people would give a family style buffet only one star. There are a lot of healthy alternatives at OCB. Where else can you find squash, sweet potatoes, fresh pico de galla, and broiled fish at a buffet? Dh always opts for the slushee machine and fresh grilled steak with homemade aujus. For 12.00, there is an abundance of foods and choices. My parents & I frequent here more than most individuals, so it always feels welcoming and homely. I would suggest getting here early on the weekends for their breakfast because it is packed. They always offer senior and military discount, so another plus!

This place is a free for all. I’ve never been here before and went for a family dinner. Where to begin? The layout meant bumping into people constantly which meant constant spills on the ground. The cashier over charged me and was rude when I pointed it out. There was food and water and god know what else all over the floor. The bathrooms were so gross I felt like I needed a tetanus shot after I left. Garbage all over the floor, toilets leaking, stuff growing in the corners of the tile, no soap in the dispensers. My son went it and said when he turned the water on in the men’s room the faucet came completely loose from the sink. The ice cream machine malfunctioned and was spewing ice cream everywhere. It was at least 90 degrees inside, which made it uncomfortable. Then there is the clientele. Since it’s an open floor plan and the tables are packed together you are forced to see everyone in the building. Everyone looked like they were one step from an ambulance ride to the emergency room. It’s like being in a mob and you constantly have to move around people, the food tables are packed in and hard to maneuver around. I don’t mind buffets, or greasy spoons, but my 17 year old son who will eat ANYTHING wouldn’t touch the stuff. I came out of it feeling dirty.
