Just plain nasty. Tried it twice and no way. Bummer because it’s a block away from me. Cc machine was broken so I had to leave and get cash. Shouldn’t have went back but my conscience hurt. I ordered a #1 phở. Should have been rare beef and meatballs. There was tripe in it, the meatballs were white. No joke. White beef? Gross. Broth is too salty too. The lady is very friendly, but maybe it’s time to hang up the apron.

I am giving this place a 2. Only because the service was ok, and the the employees(prob owners) seemed nice. I’d hate to give less than a 2 unless they did something horrible. However, when it comes to Phở I’m not a fan of this place. I want to let you form your own opinion, but of most of the Phở places around Tacoma, I don’t think I can come here again. It’s sad because this is real close to my house! But I had lunch there one day and had the rare beef. 1) atmosphere seemed kinda dirty, didn’t seem or appear to be as clean as it could be, but if the food was great that wouldn’t stop me from returning. 2) the broth seemed just blah. Just seemed off, don’t know what exactly was off with it, but it didn’t go well… It really had no taste or flavor, despite trying to cover it up with hot sauce and hoysin sauce… Still didn’t do it… I may get brave enough and retry it again, and if it’s good I’ll change my review… But for now I wouldn’t recommend it…

this is just plain nasty. I can’t even describe the looks on my family’s faces as they tried to chew through the gristly meat in the phở bowls. it was such a turn-off, we couldn’t eat phở for month. Every time I pass by the place, I throw up in my mouth a bit. I feel bad for writing this because the owner was very nice but I can’t, in good conscience, recommend this place to anyone.

Phở Linh is my favorite place for Phở… the owners use REAL chicken & beef. The lady is Linh & is so welcoming.

I’ve been coming for over 5 years to this place. I have always found it to be clean and friendly. The owner is a lovely, kind woman and comes out and greets my family before we sit down. The Phở is good but not the best I have had. More noodles than I can handle but its close to my house and the food is priced more than fair. Not sure about some other Unilocalers review on the salt but I’ve never had a bowl that had too much. Bottom line, for the price and proximity its a bargain.

They use TONS of MSG! My stomach hurts so bad right now after eating a small Beef Phở bowl. This place should be shut down. Horrid!

This was my second time here for phở, I get the rare beef… No flavor :-(All I can taste is salt. Burn my lips and tongue salt, no hearty brothy flavor at all. Noticed this from the very first bite. They served cilantro instead of basil so that’s a bummer also. The first time I was here the owner and the daughter had recurring phone calls where they were yelling at the caller. They’d hang up, the person would call again and get them all worked up and she was screaming from the front counter into the phone — not a very pleasant experience. Unfortunately I’m not happy with the phở broth here anyway so I don’t think I’ll make it back.

This place is awful. It’s the closest to my house so I’ve tried it three times now, hoping it would prove me wrong. It’s definitely worth driving all the way to South Tacoma Way instead. I’ve had the fresh rolls, the phở, and a vermicelli bowl. All were very bad in comparison to all the other places I’ve been. The sauce for the rolls were bad and flavorless and the ingredients didn’t taste very fresh and consisted mainly of just sprouts, their phở broth had no flavor either, even after drowning it with sriracha, and seemed oddly oily. And now having the vermicelli bowl with chicken and prawns; the prawns stank pretty bad and I couldn’t even eat the chicken, it was beyond salty and very hard, along with being old and odd in color. I will never go back here again, I give up.

No. Sorry. I really wanted to love this place because there aren’t many phở shops in the north end, but sadly, after 3 tries, I won’t go back. It is a great location, however, and the restaurant itself is fine. But… no.

This was one of the few places that tastes like home made broth and not like someone dumped a bottle of 5-Spice in a boxed beef broth. The broth is really full bodied and not overly spiced. The spring rolls are twice the size of other places and have egg instead of ham, which is a nice change of pace. Overall this place is solid and I will be coming back again.

Horrible service, and asked if they had vegetarian spring roll and was told no, and asked if they could make one with no shrimp or pork and they also said no. I told him if they couldn’t make a vegetarian one we would go elsewhere, and he just said okay. My friend doesn’t care for meat in his spring rolls and so it was a deal breaker. I couldn’t believe how rude and un accommodating he was. The only other time I ate there deciding to give it a shot because it’s close to home, the teriyaki was so gross. Overcooked chicken and rice that had sat all day probably. Also a very dirty feeling place to dine in. DONOTGO!!!

I thought this was going to be my North end go to, but not any more. The last time I was here the credit card machine was down so I amazingly found enough cash in my purse to pay. Today, no one is here at lunch time, she brought out cilantro instead of basil, and my fried spring rolls came out in 30 seconds so it had to have been in a warmer. I’m not sure how this place stays alive, rent has to be super high in this area. The woman who works here is really nice, and my fried tofu phở was fine with a great garlic flavor in the broth, but it just doesn’t have enough to keep people coming. I also have never seen anyone else working, and she brings her two kids sometimes, so you just have to feel bad that it’s not better than it is.

Not good at all. Worst phở I ever had. The meat was questionable to what I was exactly eating

I always go in for lunch here. The lady is so nice. Does well for only herself working there. The phở soup is the best I have had in tacoma. Other it not being the cleanest of clean, I have no complaints!

I will never eat at this place again. The service is awful, the food is disgusting and the place itself is extremely dirty. I ordered a rice dish and spring rolls and the sauce was not anywhere close to any Vietnamese sauce I have ever had. The peanut sauce for the spring rolls was disgusting, it was super watered down and wouldn’t even stick to the spring roll, I ended up throwing it away. I felt like the order came out way too fast making me wonder if she just re-warmed already cooked food versus cooking it up from scratch. I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt with my first horrible experience and decided to visit it a second time, but this time to try their Phở. I wish I would have never done that. The broth is overly salty and for my to go order, I asked multiple times if utensils and sauces were all there and she nodded her head and told me yes. After I got to my destination to eat it, I had NO Sriracha, NO Hoisen sauce, only huge side of unneeded basil and too much sprouts for the small bowl I ordered. I didn’t see the meat and was getting upset wondering why I didn’t check this order before I left. Until I opened the broth and realized she had already thrown the meat inside of the broth versus putting it into a separate container like other Phở places do. At that point the meat was overly cooked and not to mention had freezer burn on the edges. I ended up throwing that order away as well. Overall it was a waste of my time and my money and I do not plan on ever going back.

Nothing special to look at but even though I only go in maybe three times a year, they always remember what I get and the food is always consistent.

We only order out and I suggest you do the same. Atmosphere is sketchy and sanitation is questionable. The phở is phở, nothing screaming special. The Bun dishes are made with cheap ice-burg lettuce, way overkill on the vermicelli noodles, and not a whole lot of flavor in the dressing. I don’t know why people are impressed with the spring rolls – other than being large, they’re bland, rubbery and the«peanut sauce» is strange and tastes funny. We’ve ordered out maybe 3 times here, and then I found a black hair in my Phở and that was that.

The bottom line is that the phở just isn’t very good. My impression of the restaurant was meh, but I’ll eat in a dive any day for great phở. Unfortunately, this is not the phở you’re looking for.

Very disappointing. And I hate to leave a bad review because the lady was so very nice. However, the soup was bland and flavorless, and the veggies seemed old. The springrolls were great, however the peanut sauce was super watery. One of the most disappointing Phở experiences I’ve ever had in Tacoma.* Try Phở Tai on 38th and Pacific instead. *Except V&V phở– NEVER go there! See my review and many others.

I didn’t want to believe the bad reviews, but after a visit myself, I had to agree. The sitting area was dirty and the sauce containers looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. The broth was way too salty and not right. It was too oily. The noodles were soggy. The meat was ok, cut too thick my taste and overlooked. I had a few bites, paid and left.
