Pizza is very good but to be told at 910PM on Thursday night to be told that they stopped delivering because they o nm ly had one drivers shows poor management.

It’s too bad that they don’t serve adult beverages, but I understand that’s not their fault. Four stars because the pizza is pretty great! We have used both delivery and dined in. The only complaint about going in is that they tend to forget parts of our order. Easy to fix, since we are there, but would be even easier if we didn’t have to go back up for help(they don’t walk around the restaurant). Will continue to dine there!

Decent and overpriced pizza with lousy customer service. Wrong address, wrong order, and I still ended up getting something elsewhere. The reaction from the staff and lack of resolution are horrible for the customer service side of their business. Check your pizza before accepting, otherwise look elsewhere because I found little help from the staff. Last time I voluntarily get Sammy’s.

Tried this place for the first time last night and got 2 medium pizzas. The good: pizza was good. toppings were plentiful and tasted fresh. The questionable: 2 medium pizzas put me back about $ 40. The pizza was good, but I don’t know if it was $ 40 good. I’ll definitely be back, but it won’t be a frequent flyer kind of thing.

Best pizza in town. I’m a student and often need comfort food while studying. It tastes like we made it fresh from home and the delivery is super fast. Sure, you can totally get cheaper pizza around Tacoma, but it won’t be nearly as good. Simple, delicious, and worth it. I’m so glad I ordered today. I’d rather support a local business than the giant chains that taste like cardboard.

Perhaps I’m biased because I can look out my living room window and see Sammy’s, but I just adore this place. Can’t beat $ 9.99 large one topping carry out! We tried Sammy’s the night we moved in and weren’t wowed, but it must have been an off day because a few months ago we tried again, and get a pie from them a couple of times a month now. Their crust, sauce, and toppings are all quality and oh so good. Now excuse me while I call in my order for Double-punch Sunday(4 more punches on our card til we get a free one!)!

This is our favorite pizza place in town. I can’t speak for the dining-in experience as we always do carry-out, but if you want a really, really good pie, this is the place. My family is vegetarian and their Popeye Pizza is absolutely phenomenal.

Ok tasting pizza, but overpriced and sparse on toppings. Shoot for the specials, or go somewhere that serves beer as well(alcohol-free establishment).

Great service and great tasting pizza. Generous toppings. The hand-tossed crust is delish.

The beer crust is delicious and the staff is always friendly! The new location has great potential, but the space could be a little more inviting. Overall, Sammy’s is our choice for a pizza fix!

Around the Sound, there seems to be two main schools of pizza thought — centered around toppings and the depth/thickness thereof… in most of my experiences, it’s either thin and flat or thicker and piled high. Topping quality and placement are king. These are both good types of pies — but they so often ignore the importance of the crust, which I would argue is even more central to pie success than toppings. This is where Sammy’s excels as your neighborhood«cheap pizza joint». With a standard hand tossed crust AND a beer crust option — you can go for either the classic denser hand-tossed or the bubbly, chewy wonderfulness found in the beer crust. Both are good, but the beer crust made me a believer instantly. Sammy’s is the closest restaurant to our new home, but we did not know what to expect from this«cheap pizza joint». What I can say is we’ve found our go-to. Whether picking up or dining in(and the dining room is very comfy), Sammy’s is likely to be our first and last word in pies. Notes: — They are very kid friendly, right down to the free sodas for kids. — The fact that zoning(near a school) does not allow them to serve beer here is a bit ridiculous. This isn’t a bar, it is a family restaurant(nor is this Utah). — I can get a large pizza and(free) sodas for the kids for about 12 bucks dine in. Easy choice. — Costs pile up as the toppings do, but we’ve loved both the specialties and the single-topping large special.

I’ve been happy with Sammy’s for the most part. Pizza is tasty enough and their gluten free crust is nice. But I have to say a $ 60 bill for a delivered cheese pizza, pepperoni, and gluten free chicken bacon ranch? If I want yummy pizza I’ll just make my own at that rate. They need to examine their price point.

I was very disappointed with the service here today. I ordered a large 4 topping pizza with sausage, onions, peppers and mushrooms. When I got home the pizza had very little toppings on it, especially the sausage. I had a total of 15 small pieces of sausage on the entire pizza. I called the store and talked to some young lady, did not get her name, and she was rude to me on the phone. From this experience, I am going to take my business elsewhere.

We love Sammy’s pizza, the best in town! Especially the beer crust! They are quick, cheap and delicious! No reason to go to a big chain when we have Sammy’s!

My mother and father come here often, I’ve had leftovers, but today I got to enjoy Sammy’s Pizza fresh out of the oven. We had the Italiano on the beer crust. YUM.

We get pizza here often and have loved it every time. Our factories are the Maui Waui, nutty and spicy, garlic chicken, and pepperoni. We also love the cinnasticks. The service is great, staff is friendly, and there are often good coupons and deals. It’s too bad the school across the street is blocking them from selling beer and wine, as we would go there for dinner instead of always carrying out. I would definitely recommend Sammy’s!

Pizza was undercooked and doughy. Servers are nowhere to be found. Looks like they are setting up a bar. This pie may be better after a couple cold ones and service may pick up with a bartender. Could just be a bad night.

First time visit to Sammy’s. It is now our new pizza place in Tacoma. Family-friendly, comfortable surroundings, good service along with great pizza. From the delicious cheesy bread to the wings the food was great. We ordered the Maui Waui it was fantastic. Looking forward to trying the other specialty pizzas too. Definitely coming back again.

This was our first visit to Sammy’s. The staff was friendly and I liked the layout of the place. It was empty when we got there but we decided to give it a try anyway. Everyone enjoyed the cheese bread, but when the pizza arrived I could tell it needed to be cooked a bit longer. I actually liked the taste of the crust but my wife and I agreed it could have used a few more minutes in the oven. The crust was too light and the cheese hadn’t fully melted yet. We will probably give it another shot but hope the undercooked pizza was just a fluke.

I want to be polite, but also represent my level of disappointment of this place. I wanted this place to be delicious, because it is just down the street. They included coupons in the mail just before the new year and the deals were good. It was the push I needed to order from them. Tried online … Nope. Their system is terrible. Called … Very polite. We had a pickup order. Got the pizza home, popped open the box and sat down to eat. I felt robbed. Even getting a large pepperoni for $.99 I didn’t feel like the cost was worth the product. The cheese is low quality, plastic-like. The toppings were on par with what you might find served at a bowling alley or skating rink. This spurred my remembering seeing a US Foods truck in their lot. US Foods is the distributor often used by cafeterias and schools providing cheap, boxed products for cooking on a large scale. Not what I expect from a local pizza place with so much competition in the area(6th Ave). I would recommend if you want pizza in this area to go to Dave’s and buy a carry out frozen pizza from them.

I wrote a great review after ordering for the first time, and I’m going to take it all back. Well, I’ll say that the food is good. BUT their online ordering is a pain to use, was broken and time-consuming, and i’ve just had a pretty lousy experience with their management. I ordered, I paid, my food was delivered(for a $ 4 fee, then my tip on top of that.) TOTALLYWRONGORDER. I called immediately. Manager said she’d be happy to make another pizza and deliver it «no charge»(well, duh) — I’d be looking at another 30 – 45 min of hungry, whining kids. OR she could add a credit to my account for next time. I ask my family what they wanna do — the consensus is that we allcpick off what we don’t like(mushrooms, jalepenos, olives… seriously, this was like the anti-pizza for my family). But they are eyeing the pizza and I’m not getting in the way. I tell the manager that we’ll go for the credit next time. She says — seriously… «Okay, I’ve added a five-dollar credit for next time.» UMMMMM — WHAT? I just paid your $ 4 fee to DELIVERTHEWRONGPIZZA, and in crappy manager world you think that extra buck makes us super happy to be picking apart our dinner? No, thank YOU. You enjoy that $ 5 credit that we will never, ever be using. I’ll be sure to spread the word about your customer service, though.
