24 hour drive through is the best thing ever! The lobby service is pretty good as well and I have never had any issues at this location with drinks

This parking lot is ridiculous after waiting 20 minutes in line in the drive thru. I am now forced to wait for the drive thru to pull forward to even get out of the parking lot since there’s only one way in and one way out. Took over 10 min. I realized they had a desire to utilize the space but I do not believe they did this properly. I came here because you used a they’re the only place open which is why they got 2 stars. but as usual there expresso taste like stale brewed coffee. I don’t know if they’ve brew massive amounts in the morning and don’t do it fresh but their coffee always taste stale

Awesome service, the coffee is good and the environment is awesome :) lots of seating inside and out which is nice on sunny days

The service is good — people are very nice. It’s very difficult to find parking — you will probably have to walk a little ways away

Great ‘bucks to come to for the drama of employees bickering & the bearded hipster dude that is constantly making animal noises & bird calls at his fellow employees as a method of communication. I could watch this all day!

Starbucks always treats me right and I get some complicated drink orders, but this location stands out. drive thru is always fast and correct. they have a great diversified staff. The lobby and restrooms are always clean and they just have a welcoming atmosphere. even the outdoor seating is nice.

Protip. It may say 24 hrs, but that’s only for the drive thru. Guess I’m not getting homework done tonight. Barista didn’t even give me a heads up, I had my headphones on and suddenly I hear her bellow at the top of her lungs «YALL GOT THREE MINUTES TO GET OUT!!» No warning, no eye contact (my headphones are the bulky, obvious type), nothing. Guess my only option is the super packed and very loud Bert’s for late night studying. At least until Diversions opens up. They have way better coffee anyways.
PS: I don’t know why Unilocal says they’re open till midnight… The latest they’re open is actually 11 and most nights they close at 10

Very friendly staff, they make you feel like you want to come back!

Horrible parking situation. We already have to spend time in line for coffee. We should not have to spend time in a line waiting to find a parking spot. I only come thru this area occasionally and in the last three times, two presented an unsafe condition when cars were backed up out into the street.

This has got to be the most inconvenient, poorly designed drive thru. You’ve got people throwing hands up in cars everyday arguing about who’s next in line because there’s 2 different ways to turn into drive thru. Add the fact that the turn in is 1 light from freeway entrance. Imagine the line being back up out to street every morning when all you want to do is get to work. This Sunday morning I stopped in to get a smoothie and asked to add an extra banana. First time ever do I get smoothie in grande cup with my special order. I asked if she got my extra banana and she assured yes and that the smoothie is one size so next time I need to ask for a bigger cup. What? So you charge me extra for a banana but throw out ¼ of my smoothie to fit into a grande cup? So her follow up is next time you come in just make sure you ask for a bigger cup. Where’s the logic in that? I said extra banana in my smoothie not a squirt of syrup!

No bueno. Arrived early in the am for coffee and food, however, we were told the ovens weren’t on and a breakfast sandwich just wasn’t an option. Super disappointed. Dating someone who worked for Starbucks, I know the oven is turned on before you flip the open sign. Bummer Starbucks. You are slacking.

Last time I come here. They got my drink wrong again and it’s always when I’m in a rush they make my drink wrong or can’t find a promo and instead of using customer service to offer a solution they say there’s nothing they can do. Weird because Starbucks are typically so customer friendly…

CLOSES at 10:30!!! Drive through is till 3AM. Coffee is good and baristas are nice. Good seating and plenty of power outlets.

Always busy, main table has fairly inaccessible outlet space, lots of flies in the summer!
I frequent this Starbucks often, and mostly for its convenient location. If you’re going to study, make sure that your computer is fully charged! Unless you are able to get a table on the periphery it can be extremely difficult to get to an outlet. Granted, there are some outlet points on the floor, but they are hard to open and often times require a special tool.
The drinks are a bit spotty here depending on how busy the drive thru is at the moment. There are better locations out there, but like I said, this one is just in a great location!

Not the best Starbucks location. It’s convenient to where we live so that’s the only reason I would go here. Parking is always terrible at peak times. The parking lot and the drive-​thru are really poorly designed. Also the seating options are sparse. There’s a long cafeteria style table with bar stools that takes up most of the viable sitting space. I’ve never had any complaints about the service. Sometimes I’ve had to wait a while for my coffee because it’s so busy. I hope they open another location to alleviate the congestion and better serve South Tacoma.

Ok so after a long day of being out in the rain I was SO ready for a cup of my favorite… Salted Caramel, white Chocolate Mocha. YUM !! I was quickly informed that they were out of salt. what? I mean how does Starbucks run out of salt??? Exactly who is in charge of ordering? It’s only a light sprinkle on top of the drink but it really adds something to it. Just wasn’t the same. I could almost get over the no salt (even though I was pouting about it), but my coffee and the husband’s hot chocolate were both luke warm at best. so let’s re-​cap … unable to make the drink as it should be and luke warm. yeah PASS won’t be back to this location.

Remember the part in the Empire Strikes Back where Luke is channeling the force to get to the Death Star but a bunch of ruthless Tie fighters are messing with his mojo?
Enter the CF at this Starbucks location.
Parking sucks.
And the service wasn’t that spectacular here either. Somebody swiped my drink off the counter. I told the barista guy I was still waiting since other people after me were clearly getting their drinks. No sorry for waiting, no free drink coupon thing, no nothing. All I wanted was my iced tea and to get out of there. Ugh.
Just go find a different Starbucks down the road.
The force is not strong with this one.

This is by far the best Starbucks in Tacoma … nay … the world (I see you Boston, Paris, and London! Ick!).
The service is fast, friendly (but not obnoxious), and the drinks are incredibly consistent. I cannot say the same about any other Starbucks.
Be aware of two things:
1 — know how to navigate the lot. If you enter on 72^nd, this is the PARKING entrance. Don’t butt into the drive-​thru. We will cut you. The drive-​thru is the wrap-​around entrance off Hosmer.
2 — this location is used to train all other partners in the region, and is the busiest. But have no fear, this is true for a reason. It’s that good.
Mmm. Corporate coffee at its finest.

As a former Starbucks Assistant Manager, I am constantly impressed with this location. Their Drive-​Thru is always busy, but the wait times are never long. My drink is consistently made correctly and only once in my many visits over the last 4 years have I ever had an experience that was less than perfect (that was about 2 years ago, so no bigs.) Whatever you guys are doing, keep doing it!
If only you could just do something about that terrible parking lot layout…

My friends and I love this Starbucks! Always a fun atmosphere and very friendly baristas. Also a plus is the drive through is ²⁴⁄₇! Inside and outside seating. Iv been coming here for years now! Recommend this place to chill.
