Love this place! We go all the time and recently we’ve found a way for my husband and I to enjoy a 4 course dinner there for a total of $ 51(including tax). We go during happy hour 4:30−6 and sit in the bar. As long as you order before 6pm you’re fine. We order 2 salads, 2 orders of cheese, by the time you’ve had both salad and cheese you’re almost full. Then together you share the«pick 3» protein entrees which we always do filet mignon, garlic chicken, and shrimp. Then share 1 order of dessert(by this time you’re full so this is extra treat). You got a 4 course meal for $ 25 a person.

For our first trip to melting pot we had a great experience. We had the alpine cheese, sampled 3 of the salad options between 4 of us(all delicious), and had the all you can eat entrée with the mojo broth. The broth was flavorful without being overpowering, and went great with the meat and ravioli choices. The teriyaki beef was especially delicious! Dessert was the flaming turtle, surprisingly good with the strawberries and bananas. Only wish would be a second burner at the 4top tables so you could try more variety.

Hands down the WORST Melting Pot I’ve ever been to. I started going to the Melting Po tin Tallahassee, FL in the 70’s. GREAT place. I’ve been to one in Atlanta– also fabulous. This one was unforgivably bad. Mehh food, and 30 minutes between EACH bit of food. Our waitress would just disappear. We would wait, & wait… and wait some more. Don’t waste your time.

Been here several times. Usually during happy hour 9p-close for $ 5 happy hour. It’s such a good deal. Milk, dark, and white chocolate, special drinks and cheese fondue are all $ 5ea. There are also $ 6 salads that are tasty. We usually eat in the bar area it has a warm and intimate setting. If you subscribe to their email you get coupons and discounts, which is much less than paying full price. Waiters are always nice and informative.

Had never been here before until my work Christmas party. The staff was SUPER nice and took me upstairs to the room our party was located in. I was blown away by how good everything was too. Our waiter was super friendly and I know that we all had a lot of fun. I can’t wait to come back here again for more of the s’mores chocolate fondue.

Amazing service is a nice environment. I felt the experience was better than the food but the experience was very cool. This is a pricey night out. No one will get out under 50 unless they share meals. Good portions.

Alright, I’ll be completely honest but I was skeptical about giving this venue a try because of a previous experience at the Bellevue location. We planned a meeting for five friends for a birthday at the Tacoma location. I really liked how they didn’t seat until the majority of the party had arrived. The ordering process was a little chaotic because let’s be honest, I had forgotten and everyone else was nice to it! So, when the meat and the boiling mixtures came, we just said fuck it and threw everything into the bowl and avoided the count down of everything. The SMORES and the banana foster options are the best!!! So, looking back on last night, it was an experience, and one we won’t forget. Don’t go to this restaurant with the plan to have a quick meal. The courses take forever and the Cajun plate was so delicious!!!

Terrible food. Like seriously, terrible. Boiled chicken? Hello no! It was so bland I couldn’t believe it cost $ 250. The steak was no different… It comes with sauces but that doesn’t make a difference. I swear anyone who thinks their food is in anyway good has their tongues cut off. When we first came in I noticed it was very dark, not fancy at all and it had a stale curry smell to the place. The booth was SMALL for 6 people. Very crowded and a bad experience. Overall 0 stars on the atmosphere. The waitress wasn’t nice and she complained to the manager about us because it was our first time and we all had to ask her questions because we didn’t understand at first how it worked. The manager came by and pitched us the same speech. 0 stars for customer service. PS they charge $ 10!!! For a freaking rose. It was on our bill because when they solicited us about any«special occasions» they mentioned giving us a rose for my mothers birthday but didn’t tell us it would cost money. And again… The entrees were disgusting. Yes we ordered the full 4 courses and if you MUST pay to eat here only order dessert. End of review.

I’ve been here to this location a few times for birthday, anniversary and other various special occasion. We’ve always had great food but I think that comes from knowing what to order. The Mojo and Coq Au Vin broth are a must. You can’t go wrong with either. As for the cheese fondue, I’ve always stuck with the Alpine Swiss. This last time, we brought our 6 and 10 year old boys with us so we decided to try the cheddar cheese this time. My kids liked it but I’d rather not order that again. Tasted like eating Velveta to me. I’ll stick to the Alpine Swiss. We’ve tried a few different chocolate desserts. All are good but I have to admit my favorite is still the white chocolate with amaretto. The service is a hit or miss depending on the server you get. So far I’ve only had 1 mediocre server. We will definitely be back.

This is a perfect place for a date! I loved everything about it. It was my first time ever going to the melting pot and this location was perfect. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the Love Martinis were to die for!

The Melting Pot is situation in the midst of old Tacoma, the old factory buildings and industrial setting give the whole area an old timey romantic feel. My husband, well behaved 7 year old and I ventured to this particular location for my birthday. We made the reservation on Open Table, and received a confirmation call two days ahead of our reserved time. Along with the call came a sales pitch. «Are you celebrating anything with this visit?» «Yes, my birthday!» «Well, would you like chocolate covered strawberries and balloons at the table when you arrive?» Having looked at previous reviews, and the menu I knew this would run me no less than $ 30. I politely declined. Not wanting to pay for my own birthday surprise. When we arrived, the valet attendant was kind and took our car in a timely fashion. Well worth the $ 6 to park with no hassles.(Spoiler alert; we gave him $ 10 at the end of our evening.) Upon walking in, you notice this restaurant used to care about appearing fancy but that the standards have slipped. We let the hostess know we had arrived, and she assured us we would be sat quickly. Within a few minutes, we were tucked into a semi-private booth with an electric burner and metal pot sat squat in the middle. It was also host to two teeny spotlights from ten feet above, and poor rub marks on the wall where the old table was before the«new» was attached. Our waiter. I don’t even really know where to start. Putting aside the fact that when I asked him what he liked best on the menu, he stated«If you want lobster, get these two entrees.» Not only did he not answer my question, but he «recommended» the two most expensive dishes on the menu. I get the hustle, the more I spend the better his tip. Our cheese course was fine, with the Alpine dip. My daughter loved dipping the veggies, apples and bread. I thought she wouldn’t care for the strong flavor but she was super excited about it. We ordered the Classic entrée, and Pacific Rim. Both were moderately tasty, and since my husband is a chef, we knew the correct amount of time to cook our proteins without obliterating them. My husband ordered the California salad, which he enjoyed thoroughly and believe me he isn’t a salad eater! My daughter and I shared the house salad, and we both wanted to lick the plate clean of their house dressing. My favorite portion of the night was the sauces that came along with our entrees! So many sauces! If your entrée doesn’t come with the plum sauce, or the Gorgonzola sauce, ask for it! During our main course, our waiter didn’t check on us once. My iced tea glass was ice-free, and I wished he’d come by so I could have asked for more ice. We also would have liked more veggies for our boiling broth pot. We just never saw our waiter. We went simple with the dessert course, opting for milk chocolate fondue. Of course we loved dipping the marshmallows, and brownies. We also asked for extra apples to go with our chocolate.(At this point, I didn’t want more tea with my dessert, so I didn’t bother asking for more.) At check paying time, we inquired about a military discount and were told it was only available Monday’s. However upon receiving our check, the waiter had asked his manager and he had decided to afford us the 10% which we were appreciative of. To be perfectly honest, since my husband and I are food lovers, we could have bought a fondue pot for $ 30 and saved ourselves the trouble but the experience was different and our daughter really loved it. If I could do it again, I would ask for a waiter who was more enthusiastic about the experience and who would have shown more care about my needs. It felt as though we were hassling him, just by sitting in his section. We probably won’t return, unless someone offers to foot the bill.

We decided to sit at the bar to have it more casual… Anna our waitress was awesome!!! Super friendly and attentive… BUT the food was horrible :( It was my 1st time at Melting Pot and I was pretty excited since there is a lot of hype about the place, but I wasn’t impressed at all. The cheese fondue came out with corn chips that were stale, the small portions of veggies were welted and the apples tasted like the fridge they were kept in. Nothing was fresh. When main course came the shrimp was good but I could get the same at a grocery store for $ 8!!! I was disappointed to say the least We enjoyed the idea though and from now on will get our fresh meats & veggies and just do the concept at home. Sorry MP, the quality just isn’t there.

This restaurant is a cute place to go for a date or something romantic. The overall feel of the place is romantic, with dim lights and candles. The menu consists of various types of fondues, from savory to sweet. We ordered one with meat and veggies and then 2 different chocolate fondues. I didn’t care much for the savory fondue but the chocolate was out of this world! It came with a bunch of delectable morsels– fruits, cake, brownies, marshmallows, and all you gotta do is put it on your fork and dip your little heart alway. We had turtle fondue– chocolate, caramel and walnuts– and then classic milk chocolate. It was so darn good! Also– our waitress was awesome! I wish I could remember her name :/ The chocoholic in me will come back just for the chocolate fondue! :)

We have eaten at several Melting Pots across the country, and we typically love them. Not this one. The portions are much smaller than any other Melting Pot. We didn’t complain until we got our desert and there wasn’t enough chocolate for everything they brought. When we questioned them, they said that they are measuring per corporate policy… Corporate policy? We’ve eaten at Melting Pots probably 25 times. We know what’s normal. Bread, vegetables, and salad were all lighter than normal here. Disappointing for sure. I don’t recommend this location. Maybe the franchise owners here are trying to boost profits…

First time at melting pot and first time doing Tacoma restaurant week. I am pretty disappointed right now. The restaurant week was 3 course for $ 28 which I thought was an amazing deal especially for a first timer. You get a salad, entrée and a dessert. What they forgot to list on their menu was that you had to pay extra for the cooking broth. So… if I didn’t order the broth, I would just be getting RAWFOOD? Sure, our waitress was nice and kinda explained everything, but then again, I was a little tipsy by the time our salad came. Muscat Mule? Absolutely delicious! We both got the melting pot house salad with peppercorn ranch. My husband got their signature selection which came with chicken, citrus-infused pork tenderloin, salmon and chicken potsticker. My husband absolutely LOVED their teriyaki sauce and used it on everything he ate. I had their land & sea and loved their one cheese dip. I think it had cream cheese and some herbs. We also both had the Mojo cooking broth. She squeezed the tiniest slice of lime and half-heartedly squeezed in some fresh orange juice. The broth was actually really good and I wanted to drink it! For dessert we got the Yin & Yang. Really good but the white chocolate was really thin. Interesting experience, food was pretty good. I’m just annoyed I paid way more than I was expecting and felt misleaded by their menu.

I’m giving it four stars, three for the food an one additional just for the fun factor. We went for Valentines day and since I waited too long to make a dinner reservation, went for lunch which I think turned out to be a better deal. Not crowded like dinner so we didn’t feel rushed. it was a fixed price fixed menu with just a couple of choices. Each meal came with a choice of a cheese fondue, a salad, an entrée to be fondued and of course chocolate. You had to agree on the cheese and the chocolate but the rest was individual. With the cheese, we had pear brie, came bread cubes, apple cubes and veggie cubes. Then we each had a salad, I was full by that time. The entrée choices were either vegetarian or meat lovers which had seafood as well, lobster and shrimp, steak and chicken. Then came the chocolate fondue. Absolutely delicious and ate way too much. They do have a Thursday night ladies night which is in the bar and includes a cheese fondue, salad and a chocolate fondue and they have other happy hour deals. It’s not cheap by any means but for a special occasion, it’s pretty fun.

I think the food was very good. I enjoyed it with a large crowd because we had three hearing surfaces and it gave us a bigger option for selection. I did not enjoy it as much with a smaller crowd because I couldn’t sample everything. It takes a very long time to eat there, so make sure you have plenty of time. I also think it’s a little over priced. However, I was really full and didn’t get to the chocolate course.

I actually hate the thought of cooking my main course in front of me in a boiling pot… it’s just not right for someone with a real appetite. Lol. But this place for happy hour is hands downnnnnn a great deal. I tend to buy drinks that aren’t on special so my bill is a little pricier than others, but that’s okay because they are well made. I will say though, the bartenders tend to take while to mix drinks. I think we waited anywhere from 10 – 15 minutes for a drink.
