I’m a bit of a sour beer snob and my wife gave my friend and I a blank check to discover some new sours. They had some local and otherwise sours we had not tried. Bear behind the counter turned us onto some good sours, thanks Bear!

I don’t want to blow this place up, but they have carefully chosen draft picks that you can enjoy in a local environment. I’m pretty sure ownership has changed and these guys are figuring it out. Super stoked to have a real Tahoe vibe within all these tourist washed establishments.

Bare bones. Wine selection was better than Safeway, but this is not a «wine store» per se. I’ll be driving up to the Pour House in Truckee next time.

Great like wine and craft beer shop in the heart of Tahoe City. Knowledge staff and great selection!

I’ve been here a couple times now, on the hunt for some particular variety of liquor. Upside is you aren’t likely to find a wider selection than here. God forbid you want to make something with a standard liqueur that isn’t triple sec in this town — you’ll be disappointed by the selection at Savemart and Safeway. The cramped interior of this store have a much improved selection at the cost of outrageous prices. Clench your jaw and pay a solid $ 10 premium over what a super chain like BevMo would cost… that’s the price of living on the lake right? Service is functional if not friendly. At least it gets the job done.

Fuck this place! First I walked in and got bombarded by some indian dude who worked there. He was obnoxiously hitting on me and bothering me so I had my friend(who is a guy) come in to just stand with me while I decided. Once he came in they finally left me the hell alone. I was in here looking for what I wanted and they were out of everything so I had to choose from crappy beers and wine, then as I’m standing there, the guy comes up and says«hey what do u want! You’ve been in here too long.» I was totally shocked, and I still am. I said«uhh I was deciding until now» and walked out. Maybe if they weren’t out of everything I wouldn’t have had to stand there to decide. This place was like the twilight zone, don’t go in here unless u want to feel a perverted employee breathing down your neck.

They have a very mediocre cigar selection, with the exception of Padrón Maduro and Padrón Natural, which is more than sufficient. Grab one of those, and light up at the Biltmore casino in Nevada: In Nevada, you are allowed to smoke in the gaming area of any casino. It’s next to the Fat Cat Café, across from Dave’s Snowboards in Tahoe City.

Looks are indeed deceiving at this unassuming convenience store. I walked in here because my bud said they carried Chimay. I had no idea they also stocked my favorite, and limited edition, Brother David’s Triple from Anderson Valley brewery along with a couple of other Belgian beers and specialty ales I drink at home. They also have great wine and scotch selections, and I’m told, cigars to fill the niche in North Tahoe for those that like that stuff. By looks alone I would have pegged this place as a Kwikie Mart where I could pick up some MGD Lite and a pack of cigarillos. I hope they step it up by better advertising their killer wares on the storefront.

Having failed to find a good cigar at the previous place I visited in Incline Village — I noticed that Lakeview’s sign specifically mentions cigars. I went in to look with low expectations. They have a large stand alone style cabinet humidor — but as with the other place — I am wondering how much attention is actually paid to the humidor in terms of keeping it properly humidified. I found one of my favorites — an Arturo Fuente 858 — in the Maduro wrapper. However, it was very pricey. With tax: $ 10.71. I get the same cigar in the DC area for between $ 4.00 — $ 6.00. Oh well. Cigar was good — but a tad towards being a bit on the dry side.
