Love the Boatworks! Everytime I go here I discover a new store or restaurant! Great shops, excellent restaurants, and ample parking. Seriously my favorite places to dine in Tahoe are here. They decorate the inside beautifully for the holidays, and really take care of the property. I will return during every visit to Tahoe!

Was here on a Saturday afternoon in November. Had lunch at Jake’s and then wandered the mall. Half of the shop spaces were vacant and of the ones that had shops in them, half of them were closed. We went in the three stores that had women’s clothing — one was actually more of a shoe store which left two. They were okay though everything here is fairly expensive. The premium you pay for buying things to so far away from a city, I presume, and much of it was conservative in style, not particularly hip. Overall, the mall felt a bit sad and depressed though as we were leaving, mall employees were decorating it for Christmas. Lights were going up and a tree was being installed. I imagine when the holidays roll around it will be a little cheerier.

A really fun place to come with your family or a group of friends. It’s really a great location off the lake and has something that would appeal to anyone. There’s Jake’s(always great), Hacienda Del Lago for great mexican food and drinks, candy store, home furnishing stores, books, and the fact that it has the look of an old cabin on the lake is really cool.

I really like the Boatworks, it has a small town feel but also some sophisticated establishments. Hacienda Del Lago has made a comeback after several year absence(it was Sol Y Lago, good but too high priced to survice), and its always packed in high season and helps draw a crowd. Same true for Jake’s on the Lake downstairs. Various art galleries, Tahoe City Chocolates, the toy store, a lot of walking around for family for 30 mins, not really a «mall» per se, but a two level 20 establishment complex that is warm & friendly even when cold outside.

Tahoe City is a fairly small town — it’s not really a City — and we should all be thankful for that(at least those of us that enjoy small town America). The Boatworks Mall is an indoor, enclosed mall right on the shore of Lake Tahoe. But it’s not a massive mall like the ones you’d find in a major city. The place has a lot of character and rustic-ness going for it. There is a restaurant, a coffee/chocolate shop, a book store, a wine shop, clothing and shoe store, a home décor, furniture store, a game store — and more. While I was here, I perused the book store and Hemmings & Jarrett where I purchased and shipped home a Christmas decoration. The mall has an elevator and stairs — so folks in wheelchairs can get up and down.
