Sardis is one of my favorite lunch spots with the coworkers. I have literally gone once every week for the past 4 weeks. It’s a casual spot where you can order like an assembly line choosing which meat and sides you like. I usually go for the quarter white chicken with two sides: white rice/black beans, and potatoes. Their sauces are fantastic and I always ask for one of each. Food plus fountain drink usually puts me at $ 11 for lunch. Huge fan of the food. Simple, clean, and delicious.

Was in the area visiting a friend and see the Sardis sign. I decided to stop in and check it out. This is a really nice new restaurant. I had the chicken with yuca and fried rice. The chicken was typical Sardis chicken; amazing, really flavorful and juicy. The yuca fries were cooked perfect just had to add a little salt. The fried rice was better than most Chinese restaurants. My friend got the lamb chops and those were really good. I think they cook their meats over charcoal because I noticed a pleasant smokey flavor. We were both pleased and left full. Pretty good value too!

Ehhh… This place has mediocre Peruvian chicken. Definitely had some better places, but you can’t really beat the price and the selection of flavorful sides. I got ½ a chicken, yucas, and green beans. The chicken was good. It had crispy skin and was moist inside. The yucas were not my favorite, but I feel like it’s hard not to like any yucas. The green beans were flavorless and kind of oily. Like how I know there is this place right by where I work. Now i can drive here to get food during a lunch break.

Just thinking about Sardi’s gets my mouth watering. I can’t even. If this is a close location for you just go inside and take big whiffs of the roasting chicken. Then order some chicken and sides and eat it. I’ve only ever had pollo a la brasa from Sardi’s and they’ve never let me down as far as taste and being perfectly cooked go. After I had Sardi’s I had some no-name pollo a la brasa from the Peruvian festival on the National Mall and that was fried(?) and bland and I haven’t tried any other pollos since then. It’s hard to try another pollo a la brasa when you know Sardi’s is very consistent and will hit the spot! As far as the different locations go, this one is fairly generous with the chicken and the sides, but it really depends on the staff. All my experiences here the staff has been friendly and nice with the amount they give. Even with the sauces but your experiences may vary.

Delivery was quick and the food was good. I had the lamb chops & my fiancée had the ultimate grill. My lamb wasn’t over cooked. Salad was fresh & good portions. My only complaint they didn’t include my salad dressing. Fiancée said the chicken was good but his shrimp & steak were over cooked. The spicy(green sauce) is the best. Will be ordering again.

This is one of my favorite places to go in Maryland for guaranteed good food. I love the staff because they are always smiling & friendly. They have choices before you to choose from if you just want chicken & some sides. They also have a full menu of different dishes. I always get the Ultimate mixed grill which is a 15 min wait because they make it to order. I’m talking ¼ chicken, carne asada steak, a skewer of shrimp, chorizo sausage & white rice PLUS2 sides. All of that is about $ 16 which to me is a steal. I can never finish it so I end up eating half then eating the rest later or the next day. They have green sauce which is spicy, yellow sauce which is flavorful a bit sweet, & the blanco or white sauce which is absolutely DELICIOUS. It tastes good with the fries, on the chicken, on the shrimp, mixed with the rice EVERYTHING. I suggest you try all the sauces & see which you like the best. I love the yellow & green mixed with the rice but the blanco is the BEST. So glad I finally tried this place, it’s delicious.

Tough to go wrong with one of the best Peruvian chicken places around. This comes very close to the original over in College Park. Obviously newer inside, the staff was friendly and quick, the chicken moist and juicy and well seasoned, and the fried rice was great. The plantains were a little overdone, but still delicious. And the sauces are great as always, but I’m not a fan of the new package styling– they squirt all over the place when you open them. Overall glad to see they are keeping up the good quality with their expansions.

Do not believe the advertised delivery time noted on Eat24. I have ordered from this Sardi’s for delivery a few times and EVERY time they take more than 1.5 hours to deliver. If you’re very hungry and looking for a delivery option, keep looking.

Sometimes we go to this location for convenience. The employees are very sloppy and not attentive. Today i found two long black hairs in my salad. Gross!

Easily the best delivery in Takoma Park. On a Friday at noon I placed an online order for a whole chicken and sides. I left the Eat24 window open and the timer running. 24 minutes later they had delivered. Amazingly fast. If you like rotisserie style chicken, this place is solid. They have a relatively large menu, but the safe bet is to stick with the chicken and sides. The beans & rice are good, as are the plantains.

Don’t ever come here before 1130. They will not have the chicken ready or acknowledge that you’re standing in front of them for five minutes.

Move over El pollo Rico… there is a new sheriff in town. Sardis has me memorized and I’ve been here 6 days straight. Don’t believe me??? Look at my checkins. What I really love about Sardi’s is that the establishment is well maintained and the staff are always very eager and helpful when I arrive. Their selection of food seems endless. They have much more menu options than any other Peruvian restaurants in the area. They have Grilled Shrimp Skewers, Grilled Pork Chops, Beef short ribs, and even grilled Chorizo sausage. When it comes down to drinks Horchata’s are my favorite. They’re are not many places in the area that have really great Horchata’s but Sardis seems to have a much better flavored Horchata than I’ve ever tasted before. I think the meal with the most bang for your buck is the Ultimate grilled mixed. It comes with ¼ piece of chicken, chorizo sausage, 1 skewer of grilled shrimp, steak, and two sides for only $ 16. This meal is definitely enough for two.

#Latepartyofone How did I not know about this restaurant sooner?! After hearing from several of my friends that they loved Sardis, I discovered that one of their restaurants was located in my backyard! I mean I can WALK there. YIPPEESKIPPEE! Let me tell you why I’m so excited. Because the Peruvian chicken(pollo a la brasa) is worth the hype. It was char grilled and flavorful. And the grilled shrimp? An absolute must!!! I liked the sweet fried plaintains, veggies, and fries as my sides. Although I’ve never dined in the restaurant, I wouldn’t be adverse to it. I think for the purposes of take out though, Sardis is a winner.

Best Peruvian food in the DC area, according to my Peruvian husband. Recommend the pollo saltado and ceviche. The pollo a la brasa is amazing too — good flavor, and not as greasy as Pollo Rico. Tip: If you get fried yuca or fries, also order the Huancaina sauce. Que rico! Service is a little slow at this strip mall location but totally worth putting up with.(Also have been to the Germantown location, which I find classier).

I absolutely love Sardi’s…so much to the point where I had to put myself on a hiatus. The chicken is amazing, very flavorful and juicy. In terms of sides I always pick two of the following three — fried rice, green beans, or plantains. You can’t go wrong with any other them. The house made juices are great. I’m partial to the watermellon and mango juices, and I recently tried the tres leches for dessert. All were wins. Oh and the green sauce is soooooo good! I’ve tried other peruvian chicken places, but Sardi’s is the best, hands down.

I’m hella late to this party. Why didn’t yall tell me that this place was soooooo good?! I lucked up on Sardi’s as there was a new location added to my neighborhood. I initially checked out the menu and looked at the steam table to get a sense of what they offered, but I didn’t take the bait. I won’t lie the food looked amazing. But I dont eat chicken so I didn’t dive in. A couple weeks later, on a hectic weekday after work, I stopped in to try the grilled salmon and veggies. To my pleasant surprise my meal was great! I immediately became addicted. The service is fast, the food is well-seasoned, and they are reasonably priced. The seafood options are pricey but that’s normal. On a positive note, the portions are large. I definitely recommend the grilled shrimp; you get 10 perfectly grilled large, tender shrimp, rice, and two sides for $ 14.99. Go ahead take the plunge and give it a try.

As I continue on my quest for authentic Peruvian chicken in my area I scour locations far and wide(10 mile radius) and continue to come away with the sense that what I am looking for is unattainable… The chicken is solid, the fries are fine,(bland per usual) and the plantains are solid at best. Nothing stands out food wise. Good portions and not expensive, overall not bad at all but it lacks the panache that I quest for. I will say that the sauces they use are top notch! Must be the garlic in them but they are excellent by themselves, far more flavorful then other places I have frequented. The search continues, but if I am hungry and less judgmental I will be back.

I absolutely fell in love with this place! We were walking by and just decided to try it bc there was no line and it sounded pretty good. We looked over the menu and decided on the mixed ceviche, shrimp skewers, and steak with a fried egg on top. Everything was delicious! The portions were huge and there were so many sides! The ceviche came with white rice, corn, grilled corn kernels, and sweet potato! One came with cole slaw, fried plantains, and we somehow got a mountain more of rice. The best part was that they had Inca Kola. Everyone knows I’m a sucker for Inca Kola and you should be too! The place was also very clean and had ample sitting room. The bathroom was extremely clean as well! If I’m in the area, I’ll definitely be coming back!

I am being forced to leave 1 star. I usually try to find the good qualities in people, places and things. Today that was no easy feat. I’ve read great things about this small chain. «The Best Peruvian chicken». Not even close. I had my mind set on ordering a sampler platter before I arrived. The Ultimate Mixed Grill! Chorizo, Carne Asada, marinated grilled shrimp and ¼ of their Peruvian chicken. It comes with two sides but they neglect to tell you that plain white rice is automatic. The menu is huge and studded with a few Greek classics. Don’t do as I did and order sides from the massive menu board. Look down! There is a steamer table with additional sides. I quickly attempted to change my sides but I was told that they were already started. I questioned his response. Explained that you can continue preparing the grilled meats and switch the sides. After we both got back on the same page I searched for a table. DIRTYDINNINGROOM! I counted 9 employees standing behind d the counter and as many dirty tables. I picked the cleanest dirty table and wiped it off. The plate was completed and I brought it to my table. The first thing that I noticed was the grease puddled on the chorizo. The second thing was the fact that the link was split in half. All of the fat that was combined with the pork was left on a flat top in the back. The Carne Asada was seared but not evenly. The char was just on the edges and not in the center. A grill would have been more to my liking. A grill may have saved the chorizo too. The Carne Asada had a bit of a sour taste to it that I knew I would regret later. Skirt steak is lean but normally juciy. Fajita meat… Some cuts of meat have distinct lines in them. Flank steak, skirt steak, brisket and London broil are good examples. These long lines are fibers running through the meat, and they are difficult to chew through. These cuts of meat are usually sliced(before or after cooking) in a way that fibers are cut through. In this way, the meat becomes more tender and easy to eat. This was not the case here. The strip that are cut for Fajitas is the best way to slice this. These guys decided to cut the meat into long sheets. You are on your on. Four large shrimp were marinated a little too long. Citrus, spices and herbs. It was grilled but had an odd opaque color. My biggest disappointment was the chicken. You walk in this place and see the huge rotisserie ovens going but the counter person reached into a drawer and pulled out what appears to be last night leftovers. The leg quarter that I received was dry. Bone dry. I pulled back the skin and noticed that what little fat that was ever present had been rendered off. You could actually see the scorched flesh of the meat. Let me ask you this. If you are using a huge rotisserie oven to cook your chickens, how in the world does your chicken get scorched like this? I really think that they were reheated in a pan. A holding unit would not introduce such an extreme temperature. I am kicking myself for not listening to another Unilocaler. I asked for Cole slaw and plantains. I saw the steamer table and switched to green beans and a side of mixed peas, corn and carrots. Do you remember TV dinners? Not what you see now but those that were produced pre-microwave era. It took like 40 minutes in the oven. Everything cooked at the same time. Even Dessert! This is what the mixed vegetables were like. Void of flavor and chewy. Did I say chewy? The corn had a weird gummy texture and the peas were just starting to pucker. The saving grace were the carrots. The green beans were tossed with sliced white onions but it appeared as if fully cooked old and fully cooked new green beans were tossed together. This was just a major disappointment. The only good thing is that by me ordering the«Ultimate» Mixed Grill, I had the chance to try everything. No need for me to return. Lunch and a canned iced tea(tepid)? $ 19.
