Visiting family in Ashland and we were discussing where to eat, and my sister said we HAD to go to «the Polish restaurant». I had never tried Polish food, and I love trying new stuff, so I was game! The food is, simply put, amazing. Everything we tried had such unique flavors and tasted so yummy. The food was presented so beautifully, too. My favorite was the pork roast. It was so succulent and fell apart easily. The carrots and potatoes were perfect sides. We also ate the herring, bacon spread, pierogi, cabbage rolls, sourdough soup, kielbasa, and chocolate cake and crêpe. All great! I didn’t dislike anything we tried. The décor is really fun to look at, the staff were really friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! Wonderful experience for me and my family.

Our second time eating here and we will come back. We travel a lot around the world and find this food to be among the best we have tasted. I had breaded pork cutlet with barley. Cutlet was tender, nicely seasoned, and lightly breaded. The flavor were present in each and every bite. I am getting hungry again just writing this. My wife’s pork was equally delicious. We look forward to our next visit.

My wife and I thought we would give Julek’s a second chance after our first disappointment about 6 months ago. Well, this second visit was even more disappointing. My wife ordered a spinach salad that was totally unimaginative. Spinach with a few walnuts and feta cheese sprinkled on top. That’s what it said on the menu and that’s all it was, very poorly presented. I ordered the«Hunter’s Stew» which is written up as «seasoned stew with sauerkraut, dried mushrooms, Julek’s kielbasa, pork and beef. Served with homemade bread.» It was polish sausage(kielbasa) with sauerkraut. That’s it! If there was pork and beef, it was well hidden unless what they mean is that it is pork and beef kielbasa. A few mushrooms in the sauerkraut. Big buildup, bigger disappointment. And, it cost $ 21! Best thing about our meal was the bread. Unfortunately, I was the only one to gain from that as my wife is gluten free. We won’t go there again.

Have eaten here twice… will definitely return. Everything tried thus far is good. The waitress has been really great both times. And since we eat early have not run into the mob & wait scene that someone else mentioned.

What a treat! Something different for dinner. We had been for a hilly bike ride and wanted hearty food and sure got it! Cabbage roll is large with perfectly spiced pork, Julek’s own sausage is very tasty and not greasy. Selection of pierogi’s come with the sampler platters, so I think we got to try most of the fillings. Real polish beer — waitress was very helpful in describing the beers. We ordered 2 sampler platters(cabbage roll and Hunters) and shared. We had the strudel for dessert, polish version is different, and more fruit. Served with ice cream.

Occasionally one finds oneself in a restaurant where everything is amazing. Julek’s is one of those places… Everything is organic, made to order, and she has the touch — you know? Definitely coming here whenever we’re in the area, the best food in the Rogue Valley…

Beautiful place, delicious food, good service. The sourdough soup was particularly delicious. I’m so excited theres a Polish restaurant nearby. The entire menu looks amazing, and I can’t wait to try more. Also, they made some great coffee, for a restaurant. No pot that’s been on the burner for hours. I’m surprised that not too many people seem to know about this place.

Lunch today on our weekend get-a-way! Sourdough soup and bread were out of this world! Cabbage Roll was flavorful. Spinach pierogi was amazing! Sauerkraut pierogi also yum. Potato pierogi’s were tender and mild. Pierogi dishwas a bit steep at $ 16 for 6. Friendly service and charming atmosphere.

I’m from foodie town USA, San Francisco, and this is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Non GMO, locally grown produce, and authentic Polish cuisine, beer, and music.

I guess I will make a habit of checking this site and making sure my reviews are visible. 5 stars for Juleks and 1 star for Unilocal. This place is incredible.

I just came here for the first time with my roommate which was his second time. I’m so surprised by some of these reviews! First of all, I thought the décor was incredibly tasteful and classy, with attention to detail. Especially seeing that it’s in a small«strip mall» of sorts and in Talent! I have no doubt this is one of the nicest places around! The flowers on the table were fresh, lighting was nice, everything was very clean and classy. It was a little too quiet when we walked in as it wasn’t very busy, but, I think it would be great to turn up the cultural music that was being played. My roommate said they sometimes have live music, and I would love to see that! I had the Zywiec beer which was amazing! and it was only about $ 6 – 7 for 16 oz. I would pay that for sure anytime! Our server was incredibly sweet and knew the menu. Service was 110%. I ordered the vegetarian stuffed cabbage which was delicious, served with amazing mashed potatoes and properly steamed veggies! I think the price for their entrée’s is completely reasonable and it came with my choice of salad. My roommate ordered the Pierogis which were incredible! You can tell they are homemade and fresh! The dough they are wrapped with is awesome and served with carmelized onions on top. He has a variety of different Pierogis and they were all very good! I’m not the biggest fan of sauerkraut though. We ordered a crêpe with fresh berries and whipped cream to-go as it was getting late. Well, it almost didn’t make it home. It was incredible! I will definitely be back and I hope this place does great because it’s tasty, fresh food, very nice ambiance, classy décor, and a great selection of Polish beers.

The ONLY reason I am giving this 2 stars is because the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is really nice. The reason I came here to write a review is not to make anybody feel bad, but to hopefully give some constructive feedback so they can succeed in the incredibly ruthless world of restaurants. Talent needs more good restaurants! First impression. The water tastes like chlorine. Terrible for me. I almost walked out but didnt want to embarrass my wife. If you are going to have a fine dining restaurant USE A WATERFILTER! and put a lemon wedge in there. It really goes a long way! And how in the world are they managing to get bad tasting water in Talent? We have some of the best water quality in the nation! Are you buying bagged ice? Figure it out! Moving on. The price of this food was shockingly high. For what I usually get for 6 bucks at a street fair in portland(a plate of peirogis) they were charging 24 bucks for! I thought«oh well you only live once» and«well they must be really good» and I ordered them. They were completely bland, un seasoned, and just generally soggy and bad. They did not have any sort of toping, or sauce, or sauerkraut… nothing. Just noodles with potato and a little bit of grilled onions on top. A few slivers of carrot and broccoli on the side. The veggies were the best part. This meal was hockingly bad… Dont worry, if you are thirsty you can get a 7 dollar beer! I dont want this review to come off like it is all about the price, and that I am a cheap person, because I am not. Its just that when something is priced high like this, it better knock my damn socks off. Kick it up a notch, make it special. The beet salad that they gave me as an appetizer was not good either. I love beet salad. This had beets and apples in it. It had no dimension, seasoning, balance, or finess. it was just plain sweet. Come on people, add a tiny bit of acidity and salt into it to make it pop. My wife got the chicken patties and potatoes. The patties were ok(better than mine) but kind of reminded me of school lunch(ground up chicken pressed into a form) and the mashed potatoes were pretty good. It was definitely better than mine(had salt on it) but still was not great. I really hope they can improve the food because it really is a nice place and I can tell the owners put a whole lot of love into it. I feel bad for anybody failing in this business because I know how difficult it is. It is only my assumption that they are failing, but when we were there there was only 1 other customer there and it never seems busy when we drive by. The truth is you have to be flexible and not stick to your guns. Take criticism and feedback and build off of that. Best of luck to them!

This is the best Polish food I have had in the US. Period. I was born and raised in Poland so I don’t say that lightly. The gulasz is amazing, especially the chicken /turkey variation which I’ve never seen before. I tasted it and instantly thought«Yes, this is exactly what this dish should taste like.» The pierogi are the best I’ve had outside of Poland. I recommend the potato and cheese, although the meat ones are also great. Even the places I’ve gone to in the Polish neighborhoods around NY /NJ can’t compare. Don’t forget to order some Zywiec(Polish beer)!

This was an amazing place to bring my Polish fiancé. I know that I will never be able to create authentic Polish dishes for him… Or pronounce them, but at least now he can eat some of the stuff his grandma would have made him. I wouldn’t bring kids here. They don’t have a kids menu. The atmosphere is definitely more adult. I wish someone had told us in advance. They have a small selection of vegetarian friendly dishes, and that makes me happy. :) Good job guys!

I went here with while visiting my parents, and I was surprised and happy with great food and really wonderful service. The staff was friendly and inviting when we first came in. The kitchen and waitresses went out of their way to ensure the somewhat special dietary needs(lactose intolerance) of one our party was met. The waitresses were incredibly friendly in general, and steered us towards good choices on the menu. The food was really great, and really well priced for the size of the portions and overall taste. We split a number of perogies, which were assorted. I can’t remember exactly which ones we tried, but suffice it to say, there was bacon, cheese and potatoes among them. If that’s not good enough for you, then we can’t be friends. I had a delicious hunter’s stew, which was perfectly seasoned and came with some really tasty sausage and very tender pork. They have a great selection of beer, although it’s not exactly clear what you’ll get from the polish beer selection, though the waitress will be most likely happy to provide a description. All in all, a wonderful meal.

Three of us went to this small café for lunch recently. The décor is nice and the staff are friendly but the food was very ordinary. Two of us had sandwiches, one vegetarian and one with polish sausage. Both were served on an open-faed hoagie roll. They tasted like pizzas. Strong pizza-like sauce and melted cheese predominated. Even the sausage rounds tasted like something from Pizza Hut. The third person was happy with her spinach salad. Maybe a good salad place.
