Have seen the sign for years, finally decided that we had to give it a try. The pork was good, not much smoke flavor, and I even had some bark on mine. Not bad, but could be better. Sides were nothing special, we had stew, slaw, baked beans and bread. We didn’t leave hungry or upset, just were hoping for something a bit better. If I was around here and it was time to eat, I’d stop and eat, but I won’t make a drive just for it.

On the way to Mercier Orchards, another favorite of mine, we passed the sign for Biguns BBQ and had settled on going there for lunch. After a few stops and a wine tasting, we were ready for lunch so on our journey we went. Talking and enjoying the scene we past the restaurant and just wasn’t sure if we were up to turning around and driving back 35 miles. We then thought, what the hay, why not! The food and hospitality was worth every mile we drove. We enjoyed ribs, smoked sausage, chicken, turkey, and pulled pork, every body was delicious! The sides, OMG: mac & cheese, beans, greens, and coleslaw, all yummy. Our next trip to Blue Ridge, even if only for take out, we will be sure to make a stop to Biguns BBQ!

Stopped here on way to N. Georgia mountains. The good: excellent pulled pork and ribs. Right off the road with lots of parking. Plenty of menu selections, decent prices. Staff very friendly and helpful. The bad: looking at ingredients on sauces, no way they are homemade. They charge $.49 for a cup of water. None of us liked any of the sides. We had green beans(overcooked) Mac n cheese(greasy and separated) cornbread(flat and dry), coleslaw(chopped into tiny bits and tasteless) and baked beans. Overall, if I lived here I’d get the meat to go and make other stuff myself.

Wow! This was good Q. We were traveling from the Dalton area to Dawsonville for a cheer competition… looking for a place to eat along 136 so, we searched Unilocal for nearby places and found Bigun’s. We were very pleased with the food. Got some smoked sausage and brisket and a variety of sides. DELICIOUS! How delicious was it? Good enough for us to stop by again for dinner on the way home. Thanks Bigun’s for the good meal.

Wow. Just wow. Why did I eat here everyday? I ask myself this alot. I was visiting from up north and family brought me here. Seriously this place ruined BBQ for me for any other place. The food and service is just amazing. I got the Pulled Pork Dinner. Completely the most tasteful meal ever. I can’t get BBQ any other place. Because it will not match up to Biguns. Don’t let the gas station fool you. This is the place to go! Come here more then once. Because you will crave it day and night. I can’t wait to come back!!!

Pulled in here on my way to ellijay. I’m a CBJ from Canada and I’m always on the lookout for your not so run of the mill BBQ joints. The name struck me as humorous so I needed to give it a shot! Got a littlun platter with 2 meats(ribs and pork) and 2 sides(slaw and okra) with toast for $ 10.99(a bargain where I come from!). The sides were awesome! Crispy and hot okra, the slaw was nice. Ribs were meaty with a pleasant smoke flavour. Pork was cooked perfectly but I had to knock the rating down a bit as it was dry. Nothing their sauces couldn’t fix though. Loved their mustard sauce and their tangy sauce! All I all, a great find on my little trip up and I walked out with a cute shirt to add to my collection!

Well they have successfully out priced the locals. They recently changed their menu and prices! The average cost per person is $ 17-$ 20. Ribs are no longer available as plates or on the sampler, 2 bones will now cost you 2.99 as a add on to the sampler which starts at 12.99 for 2 meats and two miniscule sides. The same dinner with drink I paid $ 17 for less then a week ago now cost me $ 22! NOTHANKYOU. I am local I had a bad experience with Biguns over two years ago. Raw chicken wings, they were actually dripping blood out of them. The owner proceeded to argue stating«it was the way they smoke them»… all I asked is if they could cook them a little longer. A trip to the local health inspector the following day with said chicken wings hopefully fixed the situation! I have just recently starting going back. Mind you we as a family go atleast once up to 3 times a week. Average cost for a us a family of 4 is $ 70. I will not be going back! Nor will my friends or family! The owners do not care for their customers and are very unfriendly. They are nevrr at fault and can do no wrong. The inly two saving graces were the meat, which has begun going down hill rapidly. Cold, over cooked and small portions have become the norm! The only other saving grace is the sweet girls/woman whom deliver your food. Charging more to expand your dining area is not a good idea. We will not be back!

We went for the que but the fried apple pies were to die for. The baby back ribs were super meaty and perfectly cooked. This has already become a restaurant on our rotation. We’ve brought neighbors and family with rave reviews.
