Chateau Meichtry Family Vineyard and Winery

The first winery to visit when in N.Ga. Mts. Great wine, music and friends. First class owners.

We stayed close by and decided to go for some wine tasting during our visit. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We went with the tasting that included the chocolate cup filled with wine at the end. All of the wines we tasted were very good but the chocolate cup was simply the best. We bought 12 bottles to take back to the lodge with us and had a fantastic little party with all of the wine. They gave us a small tour of the facilities which was appreciated.

Crowded afternoon but loads of fun. Live music good wine, and sweet husband by my side… as good as it gets!

Stumbled across this winery when we were out apple picking in Elijay. Decided to stop in for a tasting. The wine was fantastic. Turns out this place is brand new. Super impressed with the amazing views by the tasting room. Justin is super knowledgeable and helpful in making wine recommendations. Apparently this place will have an upcoming wedding venue too! Can’t wait to see what they do with the space. I highly recommend Château Meichtry!

Can not say enough wonderful things about this vineyard. Family owned and while we didn’t have the pleasure of meeting the owners we met the brother and sister in law from TN. They were such Warm and Welcoming individuals. My husband and I had the tasting with the last tasting in a chocolate cup Yummy!!! We had all their wines and loved them all. Took home a red and a white can’t wait for our nxt trip there.

Excellent! Great music on Saturday. No cover charge. Love the Golden Orchard Muscadine wine. Putting it on my list for guests.

Absolutely fantastic. Came in the dead of winter, not a problem. Great wine, great people. And great scenery. What else could you ask for? Food maybe? they had that too. Local made cheese, sausage and breads.
This quaint place is a must-​go-​to for locals and out of towners alike.

Gorgeous! And what a delightful surprise! The drive in is GA mountain countryside at its finest. When you drive up, a grand French style home will greet you. Currently, their tasting room is small but cozy and rustic with elegant vineyard charm. Reclaimed wood, roofing, and walls add to the atmosphere. Their a young vineyard in location, but have partnered other local vineyards for the wines they serve, but their own grapes will be ready in 2015 for their first grape harvest and crushing.
Between my husband and I, I prefer white wine while he prefers the reds. We both had options that intrigued and delighted our palettes. The menu is lakes out in an apprise order, so follow the menu as is for best tasting. They do not provide food, unfortunately. Though they do have oyster crackers and chocolates to accompany your tasting. I do so hope they provide more to help with the full experience sooner rather than later. Tastings are reasonably priced (6 for $ 6) and bottles range from $ 18-​$ 30 per bottle with a 5% off when you purchase half a case (6) or 10% off when you purchase a case of 12.
The servers are friendly and currently mostly family friends who are as knowledgeable as they can be for lending a helping hand as this vineyard gets started.
This place is a mere 7 weeks old as I write this review, but has big plans and great potential. Go visit, you’ll be happy you did. And keep watch, big stuff is coming from this growing vineyard.
