Fat fuck owner and sons. I can’t eat unhealthy all fried food. I went there 1st time and had broiled platter n fried fish then go back n act like they’re too good to do it again. Very unhappy customer. Place smells of mildew and chairs aren’t steady if I could rate less than 1 star I would them emoji of shit

I’ve only eaten here twice, but we order takeout way more often than that — which is impressive, considering we live more than just a few miles away. The food is worth it! We love the pizza(among the best in the county), but everything we’ve tried from there(including the crab dip, mozzarella sticks, loaded cheese fries, and various sandwiches) has been delicious.

Crab dip ok. Cream of crab was more like chicken and dumpling consistency; less creamy, more gloppy. Both had good amount of crab. Pizza pretty good. Service was horribly slow on a night where they were steady, but not slammed. Overall, worth a second chance, but hoping for quicker turn around.

Came here on July 4th weekend after a recommendation. Place was only about 75% full. There was 4 of us and we only ordered sandwiches. After about 30 minutes of waiting we asked the waitress the status of our food and he said she would check, but seemed pissed at the request. She never got back to us so we asked again around 45 minutes and she said she can’t do anything about it. After a hour of waiting and not being updated on our food we asked again and the waitress didn’t like the request. We told her we can’t wait any longer so we were going to leave and she said find do what you have to do. Not even a sorry or we are missing a person so we are slow. No acknowledgment at all. Never will I come back to this place. I can’t imagine how long it would take for basic food on a busy night.

My favorite place to order from when we don’t want to cook on the weekends. Small dining area that is usually busy, service and food are still great. Stuffed ham pizza and the sandwich are the best. We have yet to order something we didn’t like. Convenient store attached to the restaurant. Deli sandwiches and meats are another favorite. A must visit in Tall Timbers!

A simple back in time bar and restaurant with good food. The crab soup was amazing. Folks that think its far away would enjoy the beautiful drive to get here. I will be coming back

I took some stuffed ham home for Thanksgiving. My mom liked it quite a bit. I had mine in a sandwich with Mustard. I’m not from the area, so I’m not sure how people normally eat these. It was pretty good. I’ll be sure to get some more some other time, and check out the rest of the menu.

Being from St. Mary’s County there are plenty of places to get oysters in the area but Cheif’s is worth the trek down to Tall Timbers. They have some of the best oysters around and definitely some of the best stuffed ham in St. Mary’s. If you order the stuffed ham sandwich which is a favorite of mine, make sure to order with extra stuffing. The drinks are cold, the prices are reasonable, and they always have the TVs tuned to the games. They also do a $ 5 all you can eat taco bar on Sundays which is a deal. Definitely a must go to if and when you are in St. Mary’s.

The atmosphere is crowded, eclectic and very casual. It’s easy to feel comfortable here. The food is incredible. Thursday is Italian night. They have handmade lasagna like you would find in a fine Italian restaurant. Spaghetti comes with either huge, light meatballs or spicy sausage. The salad was a little ordinary, it would be good if iceberg lettuce is your thing. You’ll forget about the bread and salad when your entrée arrives. That’s just Thursday night. I’m really looking forward to Seafood Friday and Prime Rib Mondays.

Looks are deceiving, this place is a gem. Tuesday nights are Italian night and not only is the food yummy but the portions are generous. My favorite is the lasagna. On other nights my husband and I order carry out– usually we get the steak and cheese. Which is the best I have ever had! They have specials every evening and some nights they have music out on the deck. The inside is definitely a bar turned restaurant but don’t let that turn you away. The staff is friendly and inviting.

Chief’s is by-far my fave restaurant in the area. The service can sometimes be hit or miss, but the food is almost always excellent and you can’t really beat it for the price. My husband always gets the crab cakes and loves them(they’re a bit too-seasoned for me). His father always gets the steak because for $ 13, why not? I get different things every time, usually whatever is on special. Their ribs are excellent and very meaty. The scallops are great. No complaints on the fried shrimp or fish&chips platters. My all-time fave dish was the soft shelled crab. Amazing. The only dish I wasn’t crazy about was the stuffed ham sandwich. The stuffing was over-seasoned yet the sandwich itself was a bit blah. Could have used some lettuce or coleslaw or something to spruce it up. Making a reservation never hurts because it is pretty small.

Chiefs is one of my favorite eateries in the county and I’ve never been disappointed with anything I’ve ordered there. One of my recent favorites is their grilled fresh rockfish! Talk about fantastic flavor. Be careful when ordering the stuffed flounder, however, because it’s a huge portion and almost enough to feed two regular folks. Their salads are good and fresh too and their desserts are mighty fine if you can find room to eat dessert. The only thing I wish is that they had a little more variety in draught beers.

Even for a dive bar, and that’s being gracious, this place needs to learn about customer service. Called early to determine hours. Was told 10:30 was as late as they would be open. Called for to go at 9:30, placed on hold for ten minutes with no response. Called back and the lazy bartender placed the phone on hold so no calls could get through until they” closed” at 10 and tried at 9:50 to place an order in person and was told they were shut down. A friend recommended this place to us so we took a Sunday drive to check it out. When you first pull in it’s a little confusing about where to enter but once we figure that out its very cute and cozy inside. There is a bar but it’s very family oriented. We ordered the fish and chips a scallop dinner and a steak and cheese sub. Everything was very good. I was shocked at how great the steak and cheese sub was. The service was great and the manager even came over to ask us how everything was. We would definitely go back.

Yes… it was FIVESTARS. Oysters Rockefeller & Crab Cakes is what we came in for… nothing short of excellent. Enjoyed the food & service here. Full bar, beer on tap, & wine by the bottle makes this place worth a repeat. This place was recommended to me by others who been here many times.

Clearly, one of the better restaurants in St. Mary’s County. While rustic, the local seafood offerings are fairly outstanding, and the attached grocery/butcher shop offers city-quality meats & a local delicacy called«stuffed ham.» Definitely worth a try!
