I signed up for a service contact six months ago and on Monday 2⁄1 a service person went to the rental property and apparently did the service check. I then received a call using scare tactics where the service person said that the area had power fluctuations that could damage the AC unit. I am sure the City would love to hear about power fluctuations that are so severe it would cause equipment damage. Other than a lighting hit this is pure BS. Then I was told that the damage could be anything from a capacitor which could quickly be repaired to major damage that could take«months» to get the repair part. But for only a «few» dollars protection could be installed to prevent the damage.
