Evergreens At Mahan I

Nightmare, Overpriced and I’m glad to be gone. Management switched midway thru my stay and made my stay from pleasant to a horrible experience. During my stay I had to deal with Roaches and bugs that infested my appliances (Caroline is not joking), there were consistently random ear piercing fire alarms, constant nagging from management regarding designated hours your trash may be out for valet trash pick… that you MUST pay for. Management is pleasant but they will bleed you for every penny they can charge you for.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

Stayed here for a year with a then GF before moving to LA in 2011. There was in fact a bug problem here which at times was totally disgusting but otherwise it’s a decent place to live. The exterior is polished looking and impressive. Clean grounds and I will say amazing staff members from front desk to handymen. Red center is an amenity and has nice décor and pool tables.

I wish I would have read more reviews before I signed a lease at the Evergreens at Mahan. While the management is kind, they are not running a quality operation. You are paying a «luxury» price, yet you receive much less than many comparable apartment complexes. The buildings are INFESTED with bugs. Roaches, ants, silverfish, roly-​polys, etc. Pest control «comes once a week» but it does nothing. When you tour, they show you something beautiful and promise you one thing, yet what you receive is poorly kept, dirty, musty, and middle grade. The Evergreens try to put a band-​aid on all of the issues and they are not actually fixing them. When a tenant moves out, they run a vacuum and hand the keys to you. The lobby is lovely, but dont let it fool you! It is not a representation of the actual apartment units. And it feels like a bait and switch operation in that they show you a nice unit, of course not the one you’ll be renting, and the actual unit is less than desirable. When you complain they say they’re working on it and eventually don’t even return your calls. I would recommend you run, not walk, away from this apartment complex.

We lived here between 2010 — 2011 when we moved from out of state. This was my first experience renting an apartment sight unseen since we were moving from New York, and the property management was so helpful – even making sure we were able to get into our apartment sometime around midnight when my partner finally rolled into Tallahassee after the marathon drive from NY.
Our leasing agent, Theresa, was phenomenal. She worked with us when we were out of state, and when we renewed our lease at the end of our first term. Maintenance was super friendly and quick to respond.
We did have a lady bug infestation at one point, and as benign as that sounds, scores of dead lady bugs around the windows got a little tiresome. The location is definitely in the suburbs so there was very little within walking distance, but that did yield a fair amount of peace and quiet. I think we would definitely move back to the Evergreens if we found ourselves in Tallahassee again.
