G&G has great Jamaican food, the best Jamaican restaurant in the Tallahassee area. While visiting a friend in the area, I was referred to this restaurant for an authentic Caribbean experience and I was not disappointed. With so many wonder items on the menu, it really took an effort to decide on what I wanted. I settled on the curry chicken plate with cabbage and rice & beans. The food was just right, the chicken had a really good flavor and I fell in love with steamed cabbage. The service was great, my food was presented in a timely manner and also served with a smile. The prices are reasonable, you actually get more for your bucks. I had the opportunity to meet the owner Mr Gallimore, he is a nice spiritual person. I was very impressed to see how passionate he is about his restaurant and what they do there at G&G. If you are ever in the Tallahassee area and looking for some really great Jamaican food, then you should definitely try this place, I’m sure this will not be my last visit. You Guys Rock !!!

Food is great… not fancy but safe. Their jerk and curry chicken is awesome. The oxtail is good to but a bit sweet. The peas and rice are homemade. The meat pies are frozen. They run out of oxtail early. I have been eating at this place for years and the food is authentic and fall off the bone good.

They misspelled«Restaurant» on the back-lit sign that’s on the front of their building. I think that right there speaks for itself.

Went to G&G on Pensacola and I wasn’t impressed in the slightest. The food tasted like it’s been sitting in the silver dishes for a while and even a bit dirty. I love jerk chicken but this was more hot than jerk-y…and the side dishes were bland(heated up frozen veggie mix and yellow rice). Jamaican food in Tallahassee is officially a no-go for me.

I love my current home(Denver, CO) but if there’s one thing this city is sorely lacking, it’s Jamaican food. I love the stuff, whether it’s Pattie and Cocoa Bread or Oxtails and Rice, I need my fix of the good stuff. Tallahassee is blessed with a few good Jamaican spots, but I’d have to say G&G is the best. G&G is located right by the Shelter and Artistic Barber shop on Macomb and Tennessee St. There may be a few homeless folks wandering around, but don’t let that scare you off. Park across the street and make your way across Macomb, trust me, G&G is worth the hassle. The food can be a bit pricey, but the portions can be enough for two meals. Everything’s hot and fresh, and delicious. The one star deduction is for the sometimes spotty service. You don’t get the impression that customer’s are welcomed. It seems a bit like your bothering them when you come in and order. I try not to take it personally, I think they mean well, and that there behavior is probably a cultural difference in body language and a slight accent barrier that can be frustrating for both customer and server. Still I love this place and I wish we had something like it out here in Denver.
