A bit pricey $ 1.50 for a classic flavor small and $ 3 for a flavor concoction and a bit bigger. Stopped in and the shop smelled amazing! Like a snicker doodle! So we ordered a Snicker Doodle and a Chocolate Peanut Butter. They were warm but raw in middle:(So the flavor was not as great as if they were cooked all the way. And yes I know people eat raw cookie dough… but not me:/ If cooked and a bit cheaper I would try again.

So everyone likes a good late night sweet snack and thankfully since Tallahassee is a college town, there are plenty of choices for one. I usually go to Z baked or Publix for cookies but I decided to try Insomnia and see how they are. I’ve ordered from them through delivery and just like everyone else, they take a long time for your cookies, they are also kind of pricey for delivery. Whenever I go in to carry out however my experience has usually been somewhat positive. The cookies are a bit pricey themselves and it doesn’t help the difference between deluxe and regular cookies are so large. The cookies themselves are delicious and very filling but that does not compensate for the long delivery wait times and the price of the cookies. If I could igve Insomnia a 2.5 I would but a 3 seemed more suitable.

I’m not a huge fan of desserts and I love this place! They’re cookies are baked to perfect: crispy on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside. The bonus is that they’re open late and they deliver! If you’re looking for dessert to appease those late night cravings at an affordable price, this is the place to go.

What a concept! Warm cookies delivered to college students around campus. Hubby and daughter enjoyed a warm chocolate chip and macadamia nut cookie. Delicious.

The cookies are absolutely delicious! With that being said, this is only my second trip there in the past few months so my five star rating is based off the variety of the cookies, the taste, and the good customer service that I’ve had on my two trips there. My son loves them! There are two different sizes for different varieties of cookies. They also have brownies, ice cream and milk. I know that they deliver but I can’t speak on the delivery as I usually just drop in for a cookie or two if I’m in the area. They are open until 3 a.m. in the morning, so if you’re in the area I would definitely drop in to try a cookie or two. By the way, they serve all the cookies warm!

Tl;Dr: good desserts, DON’T get delivery! I created an account for the sole premise of telling you that! SERIOUSLY. Walk. Or even bake your own cookies. It’ll be more worth it. I cannot stress this enough. Let’s be clear, the«FOOD» at insomnia is NOT a problem. It’s delicious actually, and I would give it 5⁄5 stars. However, DONOT order delivery. It is 0.5÷5 stars. To put it into perspective, I eat out, or get delivery maybe 3 times a week. I travel a lot, and lived in New York City for awhile(and they have a LOT of restaurants). THIS place, tonight, inspired me to get an account with Unilocal and write a review. For the sole purpose of telling you that if you want to get cookies, or brownies, or ice cream, late at night, you need to go to the actual establishment. Or somewhere else. Or just save yourself the calories and skip It. The delivery is THATBAD. I’ve ordered from insomnia’s across the U.S., and they aren’t this bad. The order estimate you get is entirely arbitrary and doesn’t at all represent a reasonable wait time. You could(and I have) spent several hours, waiting for dessert. Not something you need to live. All of this, and a $ 1.50 delivery charge. That’s not a tip of course, that’s just another built in fee(ostensibly for gas). So you really pay $ 1.50+(whatever you tip); I tip well, for this«convenience». But this isn’t convenient. I could walk there, and back, several times before they’d deliver. And I don’t live close. And when(at other insomnias) I get takeout, it takes 20 minutes MAX from when I’ve ordered, to when I have food in my hand. 20 mins vs 2 hours, several bucks cheaper. Yeah, I have to go out. Yeah. I don’t even have a car. Still, more worth it. Not too logical is it? Finally, insomnia is expensive. There is another cookie/late-night bakery in this town(z-baked). I don’t like them as much because their cookies aren’t as good(I know this both as a consumer and as someone who knows what goes into them – no I don’t work for them). But, they are reliable, and they are significantly cheaper. Delivery is free, and it’s(usually) fast. I decided to give this place 3 stars rather than 1, my original rating, for a couple reasons:(1) Their cookies, and other treats, are really good,(2) they have good customer service. I emailed my concerns tonight regarding delivery, and was given back the overall non-food charges, and a coupon for free cookies. One time in the past at another insomnia, they were out of one type of cookie so they gave me 12 extra of another kind. They’ve also done full refunds + coupons in the past when they had to cancel an order because something went wrong on their end. Point is, they mess up… A LOT, but they also typically own up to it, and both the restaurant and corporate really seem to own up to it. Will I order again? Yeah. Good stuff, late at night, and I think I may have a cookie«problem»(cookie IV, anyone? –kidding). But I’m hesitant to ever order delivery again, and if it wasn’t for their good customer service… probably wouldn’t. Take that as you will. From someone who loves desserts(and afterwards cardio) way too much. — CS

I made my order at 11:00PM. It’s 1:40AM and the cookies aren’t here. I called an hour ago and they apologized and said the cookies were on their way but they weren’t. They apologized and said they emailed me a coupon for free cookies but they never did. Now I just got a call from the delivery guy who by the way barely knew how to speak, and he was at my billing address, not the delivery address. NEVERAGAIN!

I just ordered a Cooke a la Mode, which turned out to be one little scoop of ice cream that cost me $ 6. The prices are ridiculous, and what’s worse is that it took them over an hour to deliver, when I live just 5 minutes away. The cookies themselves are a 2⁄5 in regards to taste, which is similar to what I’d give zbaked cookies as well. The only great thing about Insomnia cookies is that they have a lot of deals. The first week they opened they were giving out coupons for one free cookie, and they’re doing a promotion until September 10th where they give 3 free cookies with delivery.

(I don’t think this is a 4 stars, I honestly think they are 3.5, but they are a new business!) I don’t know who added the working hours for these poor people, but they most certainly DONOT close at 3PM. They are open until 3:00AM. I was excited to see alternatives tot he cookie delivery game in town. When I came in the workers were all uniformed and were professional, which is different from ZBaked where everything is much more«informal» The cookies are kept warm, and while smaller than ZBaked’s and .50 more expensive, I have to say they are pretty darn good! Also, unlike ZBaked’s, these cookies stay together and kept pretty warm because they come in a cute and sturdy box. The white chocolate macadamia is SO delicious. I think their version of these cookies are very different from others in town. They also offer milk, ice cream, and other stuff at ridiculous prices. Their competition sells crappy plain low grade vanilla ice cream cups but its only 2 bucks, so its not too bad, keeping in mind these stores are targeting college students. To contrast, Insomnia offers interesting flavors(like superman or cookies and cream) BUT I would not pay almost $ 8 for a pint of very regular ice cream. The smallest you can get is a scoop, and that is almost $ 4 for very regular and underwhelming ice cream in a college town. But they do not deliver less than a pint or a quarter of ice cream so you have to get a pint. Also, paying $ 3+ for a very small bottle of milk is a little excessive, and bottled water is $ 2.25, chocolate milk $ 3.00 when other businesses of the same ilk have these exact items for half that. Their flavors aren’t very creative(chocolate chunk, snickerdoodle, M&m, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin…) but it doesn’t mean they aren’t tasty. Unfortunately, Insomnia does not offer packages on the same range other cookie businesses do.(i, e X cookies and a chocolate milk… etc) and they charge $ 1.50 for delivery while others offer free delivery. BUT if they can actually deliver in a timely manner(unlike Zbaked) or deliver the right kind of cookies(unlike Zbaked), plus that nice customer service they have(unlike Zbaked)… I think they might quickly become the favorite cookie place in town.
