My husband and I have passed this restaurant many times, but had not eaten there; so we randomly stopped by for lunch. I had the Fisherman wrap with sweet potato fries. These were some of the best sweet potato fries that I think I have ever eaten; and I’ve been to many restaurants across the country. My wrap was superb as well. My husband had a positive review about the«Oh Canada» which had waffles as the bun! The menu was extremely creative and diverse in options. Definitely a great choice!

I needed a place to grab lunch before catching a flight back to Miami and Midtown Caboose hit the spot! It’s a spacious restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. I opted for a booth indoors because it’s summer in Florida(’nuff said). My server was super friendly and explained the menu to me since it was my first time. She let me know they are known for their unique burgers and I’m not going to lie, they sounded pretty darn good! Wanting to stick with something a little lighter before boarding a flight, I opted for the HMR sandwich with grilled BBQ chicken breast(spicy sauce, please) on a toasted Kaiser roll, topped with smoked bacon, grilled pineapple and smoked Gouda cheese with shredded lettuce, red onions, and tomato. I upgraded my side for sweet potato fries because #yolo. My sandwich was served pretty quickly. Not going to lie, it was pretty messy from the sauce and pineapple juices so I ended up eating the second half with a fork and knife. No matter though, it was tasty. The sweet potato fries were sprinkled with some sugar so definitely on the sweeter side. With friendly service and a variety of tasty eats, I’d definitely hit up Midtown Caboose the next time I’m back in Tallahassee! I got my eye on The Mac Daddy burger with mac-n-cheese, bacon, and a handful of fried pickles, and BBQ sauce. What?!

What awesome burgers. I had the daddy Mac with Mac and cheese and my sister swears by the one with peanut butter and jelly on it. The buffalo chicken dip was also really good and had large pieces of chicken in it. There are so many burgers in the menu, it was so hard to choose. But I was very happy with my choice. They have a great back patio and are dog friendly outside although it was too hot to take my sisters dog. The service was good and I look forward to trying another burger next time I am in town.

Excellent burgers! Over-the-top combinations of toppings. Fresh ingredients and friendly staff too! Highly recommended.

Their menu will have something to please everyone. The coleslaw was fresh and crunchy without being too mayonnaise-y and the french fries were hot and delicious. I had the Mac Daddy which is a burger topped with Mac’n Cheese and bacon. It was a very tasty burger but the Mac’n Cheese was a bit dry for my taste.(I’m a cheese-lover.) However, there is a great beer and wine selection. I would absolutely come back and bring friends and family.

The food was good once it came but the wait on a Thursday at 7pm was ridiculous. My beer glass sat empty for SEVERAL minutes to the point I had to wave down a different waitress and ask for a beer. Once the food was delivered it was good, however the fries were burnt to a crisp. The bbq sandwich was delicious but that’s about the only positive remark I can make. May give it another shot in the future but won’t add it to my «must visit» list.

Very good burgers and apps! We were looking for a burger when visiting our son and since we had been to Monks he recommended the Caboose. Everything was great, would come back. If you get a burger with the Ghost Pepper Cheese, be warned, it is HOT!

Useless but fun fact: This place is right down the street from my house. Seriously, I can walk to end of my driveway and see it. That being said, because of prices I don’t go very often. It is a nice place, though. The menu is expansive and quite inventive. Sandwiches and burgers make up the bulk of what they have to offer. Don’t be afraid to stray into parts unknown. The fellows here don’t mess around with taste. Trust me, it took me a minute to settle on eating a burger with maple mayo and glazed apples. Now I don’t want to eat my burgers anyway but. Never had gluten issues, but be sure to let your server know. They are pretty well versed in GF service.

Great and unique burgers, but not the healthiest stop. My son loved the Sundance and my daughter braved the s’more than words. Both raved about how great. My husband had the traditional burger and it was delicious. I had the turkey wrap and it was good. Meatball sub was also good. Sweet potato fries were excellent but tasted a little like fair food(which is great sometimes). Pork wontons were excellent. Our server had a sandwich named for him, Housler or something similar. He was terrific.

This is one of my new favorites in Tallahassee for ‘after a night out at the bars’ eating! Well, I think I’d go here anytime, regardless of the shape I’m in! I had an awesome chicken breast sandwich with spicy peanut sauce, sprouts, onions and more! The others at the table tried a vegi-meatball sandwich, the chili, and… hmmm…it escapes me right now but everyone loved their food because we all talked about it over breakfast this morning! The only small suggestion we did have was that the crab wontons were kind of mushy inside… they need more substance with crab. Other than that, the main meal was outstanding!

Burgers and wraps here are delicious! They have some really bold, creative options that assure that you’ll have a different experience each time(unless you stick with a favorite, which would be easy to do). They also have a decent beer selection. Service is always friendly and attentive, and the location is great. You can walk to other bars/shops nearby, Lake Ella, or just sit on the patio and enjoy the afternoon sun/sunset. My only gripe is with the french fries. With such an epic burger, the french fries are a bit of a let-down. However, they have many other sides to choose from(mac n cheese, fried pickles, tots), and I’ll definitely be checking those out from now on.

Just like monks in Tallahassee! Same owners. Delicious burger and turkey apple wrap. A little pricy, but it’s a nice outing for a Tallahassee staple.

While we liked our meal, we’ve had better meals here in the past. While I’d like to give it a 3.5 star review, the patio and past dining experience led me to give it have benefit of the doubt. I think the fundamental problem was that it seemed like the food, while undoubtedly cooked fresh, was being prepared in anticipation of an order. What do I mean? We ordered Crab Rangoon as an appetizer and it was brought to the table in about 2 minutes. I can’t see how that’s possible. And, it was cold in the center. When we complained, the waiter quickly went to correct it, and the second attempt also came out within a few minutes. This was quite hot, making it seem like they had already dropped some in anticipation. The Mac Daddy burger was cooked perfectly, but the Mac and cheese topping was tasty, but quite cool(and thus not very creamy). The Chick Flick was very good. I’m hoping that speed is not trumping quality. Given our past excellent experiences, ave a fantastic patio, we will absolutely be back.

Best burger in town! And I’m not even a burger fan. I’ve been here a few times and tried the runaway train and sushi chef. Both were absolutely absurdly good. I’m dead serious. Nom nom nom! Price is a bit high. A burger with a side is around $ 15. But the portion is very generous so I usually eat half of my burger and save the other half for another meal. What I like most about this place is that their burgers are unique and so different than the average burger you know of. For instance the sushi chef burger has ahi tuna, sprouts, and asparagus in it. BOOM! In sum, midtown caboose is my fav burger in town. Try it out, you’ll know what I’m talking about!

This is Monk’s/Well’s Brothers 2.0. And I hope they take it as a compliment. I was hoping that someone would convert the old shuttered cougar den known as Paradise Bar & Grill into something decent and viable, given the excellent location. Midtown Caboose did just that. This is my go-to place for comfort food when I don’t give a crap about caloric intake. The burgers here are absolutely delectable, as they are at its parent restaurant on Tharpe Street. Every time I come, I try a different burger, but so far my favorite is the Mac and Cheese burger, which is as exquisite as the name implies. My favorite side is their onion rings, which you should be sure to order with their spicy train sauce(I think it’s called). They usually have great beer selections, and whenever I come here, I opt to eat out on the patio, which is elevated over the street below and is quite pleasant. The service here has always been exceptional. This is and will remain one of my go-to places in town when I’m in the mood to watch a game whilst devouring a burger. Oh, and the patio is pet-friendly!

Great burgers and local beers on tap! Today I had the Liberty, a philly with onions, mixed peppers and cheese atop a perfect burger. Their meat quality is fantastic. Local Proof Brewery beers AND Oyster City beer calls out beerophiles from near and far. Great service today at the über cool outdoor bar!

The Wells Brothers other creation drives home their tenacity for exhibiting righteous food. The burger bar delivered a mouth-watering meal, which left all of us Unilocalers bursting at the seams. A friend and I split two household burgers, the Mother of Dragons and the Sushi Chef. The former, was prepared with a real kick of heat, but mellow enough to not overpower the meat. The egg on top was the absolute kicker, bringing a liquidy mess to my hands and mouth, yet providing a melt in your mouth burger richness. The latter was topped with Ahi Tuna. Yes, Ahi Tuna on top of an already colossal burger. It was rich in flavor, however the bite wasn’t as clean as I would’ve liked. The contrasting textures didn’t meld together perfectly, but since the flavor was there it gets a pass. Our server was rather overwhelmed with our large table, but she did make an effort to keep all of us comfortable. Additionally you can find savory suds of tap, especially great, local offerings. Forewarning: this a five napkin meal. You’ll be wearing this meal for days. Admittedly, there’s nothing like discovering burger specks in your beard the day after a meat-filled palooza. Midtown Caboose, home of the Ron Swanson approved burger.

I made it there for a fabulous unofficial Unilocal event hosted by presidential candidate and Unilocal Ambassodor for Tallahassee Matt C. I gotta say the food runner Sam does a really great job. I have enjoyed the food here in the past. But last night whiskey was my only meal. Glad to see the old paradise grill has turned into a new Tallahassee staple. Will return!

Second visit last night with a large party. Split the the«Sushi Chef» with a friend who ordered«The Mother of Dragons». Both were really excellent. Will say, the fried egg on the«The Mother of Dragons» burger really made it. It was so messy causing me to grasp for piles of napkins to rid my face and hands of the runny yolk, but it was totally worth it. While I scored low in cute points for the mess I was making, the flavor was loud and bold. ;) Perfect. The«Sushi Chef» was fantastic as well. A very unique pairing that I really enjoyed. I probably ate them in the wrong order, as I should have saved the spicy for last to savor the more delicate flavors of the«Sushi Chef», but I will just have to go back and do it again! Service was lacking. I know we had a big party, but I seemed unable to order more than one beer. Every time the server would come to the table to address someone or drop off a food item, she darted off and missed my hand waving. Maybe she was running away from the mess I made of napkins and my face with that egg yolk! Check cashing was the same way — she seemed very rushed and would only take one or two at a time, then kept pressing that we needed to leave the merchant slip if we were using credit cards.(I paid cash). She was very pleasant, just some fine tuning needs to happen — if large parties(about 15) are too much for one person, adding another server as support is suggested. Unlike my first visit, where I ate a salad, I am really looking to come back again for the burgers and other menu items. Prices are on the high side, but as noted in my prior review, the portion sizes are generous.

The Caboose has some interesting offerings and they often go out on a limb. I appreciate that but they suffer in customer service. We are often waiting unreasonably long for our burgers. The beer is never cold. The seats on the inside of the restaurant are *very* uncomfortable. I am a curvy girl but I am not plus sized. I am not sure how anyone but skinny hipsters fit in those chairs. The chick flick was underwhelming. The fried green tomato wasn’t crispy or distinguishable. It is supposed to be one of their best and most popular. I am not sure why. The s’more than words, was surprisingly really great. Although I wish that the graham cracker was not crumbled so fine. the burger is in need of texture and bigger chunks of graham for more crunch would make this perfect. It is made to be split, so go with someone adventurous and do half this burger half another. it is incredibly rich. The nighthawk is a great sandwich and the bacon is superfluous. That is right, I said it, it doesn’t need bacon. The egg is a smart idea and the jalapeño slaw makes it. This was a sandwich I would get again. They have a wide variety of side options. It is nice to be able to deviate from just the basic fries. They have very yummy onion rings that even hold up when taken to go. The BF always gets the liberty bell– it is one of his favorite burgers and he is a burger guy. Overall, they are good for what they are. I think there are plenty of places in town that do it just as well or better without the parking hassles and customer service issues.
