Been here a couple of times. My friend goes often. For me it’s only so-so at best. Ground Beef for tacos is bland at best. Salsa only fair. Hard to say what turns me off on the salsa but maybe it’s out of a can. Their white queso dip is pretty tasty but a tad runny. Chips OK but nothing special. I haven’t had enough from the menu to know for sure. I gave it three stars because the service was attentive.

Met some friends for an extended lunch as we stayed to visit. My husband enjoyed the chili relleno and pork tamale. I enjoyed the chicken chimichanga served with beans. And my friend had a tostado. Plates were returned cleaned. Good size servings. Waiter was very friendly and provided great service.

The Ceviche was as good as any I have had before. Server was strong. My date’s quesadilla was packed with quality and cooked perfectly. Price was very fair and the two for one draft Corona didn’t hurt either. Bottomless free chips and salsa were very tasty! It was all a great and highly recommended lunch… looking forward too going back.

This place always seemed to be busy, so I thought I would give it a try. The worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. After my initial disappointment over the menu offerings, I decided to try the quesadilla, figuring you can’t make a bad quesadilla. WRONG! it looked nothing like the picture, had a slimy bean filling and some shredded chicken, no veggies, no cheese, just horrible. I recently moved here from the Washington DC area and have not found any decent Mexican food resturant !!!

I have to say I was extremely disappointed with Peppers. First off, the good: The chips and salsa. . And that’s about it The wait staff visited our table to take the orders, give us the food, then the check. Didn’t have much personality or really cared if we ever came back. Plus they set us next to the bar which had South Park on the tv. They had the sound on and it dominated the sound in the dining room. Which I have to say is a first at a restaurant for me. The rice was pretty bad. Almost like it had been out for a week, same goes with the weird tasting beans. Both my fiancé and I’s entrees were absolutely horrendous. They use that lettuce you get at the store with the carrots and cabbage in it for everything. Makes for a weird taco/quesadilla combination. Overall, let’s just say we both left the place a little nauseous. If I were you, go to El Jalisco. They are the best place in Tallahassee for foot Mexican food.

Love this place so much!!! It’s the best Mexican in this town. So happy to have found it. We’ve been twice this week!

I bought a coupon for this restaurant for my daughter, who LOVES Mexican. So, that is where we celebrated her birthday. For the small dinner party, this was a good choice. The service was good, with the young waiter most engaging and helpful. There was also a young lady who kept the tables supplied with chips and salsa. While the menu was not unique or ragingly authentic, it was full of comfort food choices, insuring that you can make your choice with minimal difficulty. I had a Chimichanga Trio, with one beef, one chicken and one chicken. While all three were good, the shrimp was the star, with its juicy, fresh filling. One of the guests had ordered a plate that had pictured a dish that contained broccoli, but her’s did not. Still, she was satisfied with its quality. I think my only suggestion to make this place closer to five stars is more fresh, greens on the menu. The carbohydrate content of most of the entrees was considerable, so it would have been nice to have something crisp and refreshing available. The beer on tap was crisp and served in mugs that keeps it cold. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. A couple at our table brought their infant son and since it isn’t necessarily unfriendly to children, there weren’t any others, so the noise level was perfect. The baby seemed happy to be there, calm the entire time. We will return.

Used to come here all the time and the food and service was always excellent. Last two times there were different workers. Not sure if management changed or just the workers but one female worker in particular both times was very rude. She saw me and my son walk into the restaurant and continued to talk to another waiter. After several minutes another couple walked in and only then did she decide to sit us. She also came out and took the order of the people after us and they had their food before our order had been taken. Second trip, same rude experience with the same lady and won’t ever go back. This used to be my favorite place. Not anymore.

Came here for lunch. Thumbs down for food. Enchiladas came with barley any cheese or sauce. Also tortilla was dry. My buddy said his ground beef taco was bland. Only reason I gave it 3 stars was good service and 2for1 drafts…

My husband and I LOVE this place. Everyone is very cordial and attentive to your needs and the food tastes great. I personally LOVE their deep fried ice cream. .yumm! And I won’t have to tell you the difference between pepper’s and other so-called«Mexican restaurants» because I know you’ll notice. Definitely recommended! !!!

I’ve been to Peppers plenty of times before but had noticed it wasn’t so great in most recent visits. This last time, instead of bringing home leftovers, I came home with a raging case of acute food poisoning that could only be calmed with anti-nausea medication designed for cancer patients, as well as a large bottle of pepto that I downed like tequila shots after winning the national championship. The beef, more possibly human meat, was beyond questionable, a plate of nachos contained more than enough human hair, and the shrimp was grayer than fifty shades himself. 1⁄10 would not recommend.

This is by far the worst service ever. The service was good, but the kitchen staff added sour cream to the burrito and it was not listed on the menu. After they had served the contamination food to my sister in law, who is highly allergic to dairy, the manager 1. was not will to talk to us and 2. Said they were at fault but oh well we will take $ 1.50 off the bill. This after my sister in law spent 15 minutes throwing up in the bathroom and parking lot. Do not go here if you have ANYALLERGIES. The menu is unreliable and the kitchen changes at their will, not the customers.

First time. Packed with a wait told us it was good food. Food didn’t disappoint! Service was good.

If every El Jalisco in town disappeared, you’d have places like Peppers to remind you that not all Mexican restaurants are created equal. While the food was alright and the service short, I liked the fact that we could eat without much noise or chatty servers. This isn’t a great place to go for a cheerful atmosphere, but it is good if you’re hungry and want some standard American Mexican food. The best thing is that the prices are about what the food is worth. Peppers seems like a lunch place that caters to work crowd, but doesn’t do much to attract families in the evenings or weekends.

I had the express lunch — $ 5.99 one taco, one enchilada, choice of refried beans or Mexican rice. It was fast and lots of food!

I’m giving 2 stars because I cannot give 2.5.The food is okay, the drinks are great and the prices are fair. Service, however, is really lacking. The server barely checked on us. He was a bit rude. He wasn’t the only one who behaved this way. From the hostess to the first server we had(they switched shortly after the drinks were ordered), everyone seems to be in a hurry. The salsa tastes store bought. The food came out in moments. Are they just heating up pre-cooked food and taking it out? The chips, meh. I get better service at a Taco Bell at 1am. All in all, I’d probably come for just drinks in the future.

The best thing about Pepper’s is their queso blanco and their outdoor seating. Besides that, you’re better off going to El Tapatio. Their food is good, but nothing fantastic. It’s very greasy at times. Because we used to live in close proximity to Pepper’s we would go there often. The service was hit or miss. Sitting outside is nice depending on the ridiculous Florida heat, but the surroundings are very ugly and unpleasant.

I decided to try Peppers today as it seems to be very popular with my coworkers. The food was decent, standard Mexican fare you can find at pretty much any restaurant of that variety. The prices were good, especially for the lunch specials and in comparison with the amount of food given. However, the atmosphere is definitely lacking — the booths are very close together and one of them rocked back and forth whenever the person on the other side moved. In addition, somehow we received our food before our beverages. And not to say our beverages were any way delayed but that we literally received our food faster than one would expect of a fast food place, like McDonalds. It’s kind of a bizarre experience to have barely started the post-ordering conversation before receiving huge plates of Mexican food. The rest of lunch was spent discussing how much of it was pre-made and warmed up. Obviously, I doubt the freshness of the food. Subsequently, our waiter followed up with us every two minutes and seemingly wanted us to hurry out of there. The place was less than half full and it wasn’t even 12:30 yet. Overall, the whole experience was pretty disappointing and I’d rather eat at another one of Tallahassee’s Mexican restaurants.
