Steak ‘n Shake

I haven’t had a frisco melt in years. So when I found out that now I live right down the street from a steak and shake I was totally excited! I got my food. My fries were old and stale and my burger was mediocre! Won’t be back!

I really enjoy the shakes and the burgers. Fries are not so good. Service is very slow It took 15 minutes for me to get my order of one shake at about 8pm one night. There was only one person ahead of me in the drive thru and all they ordered was a shake too!!! Don’t know what takes them so long. But I’ll still go back. When I have time to wait for a delicious shake and or burger

Great place to get a quick burger and fries! I had the bacon burger with fries. I’d defiantly recommend that to anyone looking for a quick bite in the area.

I’ve only been there twice, but the food was delicious, The food came out fast, and the service was great. Definitely worth spending for five dollars for meal.

First off, steak and shake stay extremely busy, quality food takes time not 5 minutes McDonald’s is down the road, as far as the servers some are better than others but majority work there ass off so if there isn’t «a shake person «it’s slows them down a lot, majority of steak and shakes the servers do everything suck as rack there own dishes dress there own food check you out and wait on you hand and foot so get off there nuts

Worst service and dirtiest Steak n Shake we have ever been to. Would think it would represent the state capital better. The only thing that was right about our order were the milkshakes.

I like their food but this location has have to have the slowest moving employees known to man. It took 20 mins to sit me and 10 more minutes to take a drink order with a completely empty restaurant. At the same time, although they had no customers and the drive thru was not open, 75% of the tables were piled up with plates of food.
My milkshake took forever to come out because they didn’t have a «shake» person and the seevers kept putting off making it hoping another one would do the extra work.
These all seem like extreme management problems. Step up your game.

Stopped on our way through town. Dirty nasty bathrooms. Had to wipe our own seats off — when we had asked for the bench to be wiped we were handed napkins and encouraged to do it ourselves!
Waiter was rude and brusque. Milkshakes took 25 minutes to bring out and half the ordered food another 5 minutes after that. The other half took an additional 10 minutes. Fries were cold by then. Didn’t want to risk asking for ketchup as it may not have arrived before we had eaten everything.
Will not be back and neither will anyone else we travel with.

The order was wrong and the fries were old and cold. Our server did correct our order. It was good burger. I had the Wisconsin buttery burger. Chocolate malt was delicious.

I like the food, especially the vanilla milkshakes. Good fries and I like single cheeseburger with bacon – all for $ 4. However, service is the worst – slow, staff stands around together talking instead of working. Only the cooks seem to work. This is based on many visits, not just the occasional experience.

Great burger & shake. Server did a great job. They were packed, so it was a little slow. Enjoyed my meal and will return.

Shakes are really good but the food is mediocre. Extremely low food prices and it shows in the quality of the entrees (think fast food). Service was good and food was served fast. Extremely friendly staff.

Slam packed and under staffed. Long wait, and no silver wear or napkins were given to us at all. One staff member was mean to another and made her blush, it was awkward. My partners cup was dirty on the inside. One staff member was picking up the slack and he only had one available hand.

The place is clean, cheap and delivers good food. Service is usually pretty good. Blueberry pancakes at 6:00 am are a beautiful thing!

Steak-​N-​Shake is something of a revelation for me. Tallahassee is the first city I’ve lived in where one is located. They are open 24 hours and have incredibly reasonable prices given how delicious their burgers and fries are.
If you eat in, you are treated to a sort of «fast casual» sit-​down hybrid where you are waited on but it’s still essentially fast food. I usually go through the drive-​thru, and while it’s not as fast as McDonald’s, it is definitely worth the wait.
I don’t feel a great need to spend much time talking about the food. Pick a burger that sounds good to you, and it’s hard to go wrong.
My favorite thing about Steak N Shake is probably the fact that they normally have a selection of combos (without drinks, perfect for taking home!) for just $ 3.99. I do not know of a better burger deal than a triple steakburger and fry for that price.

Has it recently become a rite of passage to go into Steak N Shake at 4 a.m. and spew vomit all over the bathroom? Too much alcohol? Or was is something the kid ate? Either way, I can’t go back after witnessing that horrific Jackson Pollock-​esque performance.

Everytime I go to this location something is left out of the order, prepared incorrectly, or just SLOW! If it weren’t for the Frisco melt, I’d never eat at another Steak N Shake again!
