I’ve lived in Tallahassee since 2004, and I only know of two new age stores in town: Crystal Connection and this store. Due to allergies, I opted to not frequent the former and keep my business to the latter. That being said, the first time I visited — when the store was located over the AMC in the Tallahassee Mall — I was greeted with a friendly environment, knowledgeable associates, and found exactly what I was looking for with a little assistance. However, since they’ve relocated to the old Gap store location, I have not made a single purchase. This is not for lack of trying on my part. I’ve visited several times, as Tallahassee Mall is much closer to me than the Parkway, and nearly every time I’m in the mall I visit this store. Every single time, unless one were to look directly at the registers, the whole place feels abandoned. The only place you find an employee — including the store owner — is sitting on their ass right at the register, which isn’t good business by any definition of the word. I was actually in the store last night, looking for a new tiger’s eye or amethyst. The entire time that I was there, the two employees in the store didn’t venture any further than five feet from the registers at all times, and even when they did they dragged ass and were very reluctant to leave their little den. I finally got fed up and left with the intention of not returning anytime in the near future. If you want a good new age store where people pay attention to you and bust their butts to help you, try Crystal Connection. It’s currently on the Parkway just behind Olive Garden, but they’re soon to be moving locations to the same block as Decent Pizza… which means it’ll be closer to me than this store and that I won’t have to waste my time on a place that doesn’t want my business.

Stone Age used to be very good when it was in its old location in the Tallahassee Mall. It is still in that mall, but it has moved into the old Gap location. It’s very large now, and the owners seems to take that as a reason to ignore parts of the store. I frequent this mall, and in all honesty, I have never seen anyone buying anything in this store. With good reason, too, because even when I want to, I can’t get anyone to help. They will not answer questions, they will not open display cases, they will not open jewelry cases. In fact, they generally will not come out from behind their register counter for anything. They also close an hour before the rest of the Tallahassee Mall does, so by 8 o’clock on the weekdays, their door is shut. For a good new age store in Tallahassee, I would recommend Crystal Connection. You might get blasted by the smell of incense when you walk in the door, but at least people are willing to assist customers.

What an awesome new age store. It is located in Tallahassee Mall, this is the only store worth going there for. You walk in and it is so large. It must be close to 8,000 sq. feet. The owner and his wife have been at this location for a very long time. They are the nicest couple. Eager to answer any questions, very knowledgable, and true artist with jewelry making. It can be overwhelming, as their is so much to look at, and really cool unusual things. I came here because last year I bought a «oco hydro agate» from him and needed to find another for my mom. He did have one but it was to small from what I wanted. No worries, there are so many things to choose from. Glass display cabinets filled with gorgeous jewelry, that he makes himself. Tumbled stones, rough crystals, fossils, incense, candles, statues, tapestry, pictures, oh so many great items. From rose quartz, amehtyst, tigers eye, citrine, clear quartz, jasper, hematite, onyx, feng shui items. Such great items. Very hard to find rare stones and clusters for the collectors. Some display cases look like part of a museum. I purchased so many great tumbled stones at very reasonable prices, gold stone rings, and a beautiful clear quartz cluster. Prices are reasonable for basic items. Of course the very rare items are high priced due to the rareness. I will always visit when I am in town. Excellent Customer Service and such very nice people to deal with. They always seem to get new items. Be prepared you can spend alot of money. This is my favorite new age store.
