I really love Holden, he’s the best server. And the bagel melts are on point. Go here!

I have been to Bada bean several times over the years. They area great little dinner with nice breakfast options. We happened to be out and about during breakfast time and we beat the rush on a cold Saturday morning. We ordered some chai tea and a latte. R thought he would treat himself but regretted that when he realized the«get your own coffee» options which there are a plethora of. This was his first time so he didn’t know the system, which is you serve yourself coffee from there many options. My Chai was lovely. We settled on the crab cake Benedict and french toast to split. The crab cake Benedict had me concerned from the looks of it. The way the cake was crusted on the outside but it was ALL crab and just lovely inside. Full of flavor and crab and just melted in your mouth. The outside was crispy and that turned out to be ok. The hollendaise was pretty good as was the spinach. The home fries had a really great seasoning on them. Now to the French Toast. Ugh, they were really not good. They were barely eggy, barely if any cinnamon, dry and cold. A waste of carbs. French toast is something we don’t often make at home because we don’t keep loaves of bread around and I was really looking forward to it. There was nothing redeeming about it. Service was ok, the guy was new and told us so but he was sweet. Honestly they are up and down. They have some great no carb dishes that deliver and the crab cake does deliver too but they mess up basic things like french toast, toasting a criossant, frying eggs. I think they are better than many of the other similar places in town though and hence the solid three star rating.

Went here for brunch on a Tuesday after trying to come on a previous Saturday(the wait was ~2hr so we decided to bail and try another day). The off day and time was perfect as our group of 6 easily found seating inside(there is also some seating outside as well). I can see why the wait is so long at peak times! Our waiter came over right away and quickly gave us our waters and coffee mugs. We were able to get up right away and choose from 5 different hot coffees at the self serve coffee bar. Our food order was promptly taken shortly after. I went with the garden skillet and was super pleased with my choice when it came out. The home fries were well seasoned and delicious, the veggies fresh, the sunny side up eggs cooked perfectly and the avocado was the cherry on top. I was also able to taste a bit of my friend’s cinnamon roll pancake and it was delectable. The service was great, and our waiter was very attentive and helpful. Added bonus, if you order a coffee you can take a coffee to go on your way out. Bada bean is a bada-$$ brunch spot in my book.

Awesome breakfast the food is definitely cooked slowly and homemade the wait is worth it and you get your money’s worth never seen so much assortment of coffee lol

This place is excellent! Love that it stays open until 3. Service was great and the red velvet pancakes were excellent. Good substitutions for vegetarians as well!

The Bada Bean is fantastic. I had the eggs Benedict made with biscuits instead of an English muffin, a vanilla chai latte, and a short stack of cinnamon roll pancakes and everything was perfect. The food tastes great, the service is quick and everyone we spoke with treated us like family. I highly recommend this place!

Great food and service. A bit of a wait which could be because many places were closed at this time of the year and on a Sunday. I don’t normally like sweets in the morning but a taste of the Cinnamon Roll Pancake is a must. Had the veggie benedict(don’t remember the exact name) it was delicious. Self serve coffee bar is nice because you can tailor to your taste but the quality of the coffee is a bit off.

A must stop when in Tallahassee. The breakfasts are worth a wait, on a Sunday it can be 30 – 45 minutes. Have the cinnamon roll pancakes — pure heaven.

I just moved to Tallahassee and found this place on Unilocal; read the reviews and looked at the menu and knew I had to visit. Let me preface by saying I could eat breakfast all day, every day! First off, the staff was amazing. It was a holiday and they were extremely busy(there was a 25 minute wait) but all of them were great to one another, helping out with tables wherever needed, checking up on you without ever being pesty. Just wonderful! The menu. OMG the menu. Things you’ve always wanted to put together to try but weren’t sure how’d they turn out — cinnamon roll pancakes! onions and peppers covered with pot roast, eggs and hollandaise sauce! a toasted tomato wrap with sausage, bacon, home fries and scrambled eggs! I need to go back a LOT to try everything! If you love big, hearty, delicious food served by a great staff then this place is for you. If you don’t, then eat at home.

The Garden Skillet is heaven in my mouth. The servers even gave me extra avocado once.(I love you.) They serve Lucky Goat coffee which adds to the wonderful breakfast experience here. The food, the service, and the restaurant feels like a meal at home(if my mom knew how to cook, but you get the point).

Bottom Line: Sometimes, already updated reviews STILL need their own updates. Here’s my update to my update to my review: If you’re in Tallahassee for ONLY one day, then I cannot — in good conscience, give you definitive breakfast, lunch and dinner destinations. But I can tell you that — for Breakfast — The Bada Bean is one of our TWO favorites, and that — between the two, if awesome WiFi is what you seek, then The Bada Bean is the clear victor. Believe it or not, I’ve never been to The Bada Bean for lunch. Oh, sure, I’ve had lunch fare for breakfast(most notably, a FANTASTIC corned beef and cabbage), but if it’s served during breakfast hours, then it’s breakfast — regardless of the dish. I feel sorry for the folks of our fair city that live, as they might say, «too far» for this to be convenient. Furthermore, I’m glad that Bada Bean hasn’t yet(I’m sure the day is coming) established a 2nd restaurant north of the Interstate. All I have to say is this: When that day comes, and I’d be surprised if plans weren’t already in the works, just know this — our Bada Bean(this one) will always be way better than the other Bada Bean. I’m not concocting a curse — I’m just keepin’ it real. Oh — one more thing. I mentioned(above) that The Bada Bean is one of TWO favorites for breakfast. The other favorite is really four restaurants under the same ownership. If that ownership only had ONE restaurant(i.e., a «fair fight») — then The Bada Bean would win hands down. But, really… — must we always create rankings? ;)

My girlfriend and I were driving around one brunch type hour the other day and this place was caught in the corner of my eye. I knew what it was, of course. Who doesn’t? All you hear is that it’s a Tallahassee must visit and favorite. I waited far too long to try the joint out. The waiters and ambience are so chillax, almost like everyone’s your bro. Besides the luxury of walking in and getting to sit wherever you dang want, the place is comfortable. The food is very flavorful. My girlfriend went sweet and cute with the cinnamon role French toast, I kept it real with the Alan’s wrap. They were both so good I couldn’t choose a considerable favorite. The Cinn. Role French toast practically tasted like a thick slice of bread slathered in icing, glazed in cinnamonny sweet syrup and grilled till crunchy, warm, and soft and served quickly… Wait, that’s actually what you get! Crazy! The Alan’s wrap. Simple. Large. Bold. Get it on a spinach wrap. This wraps eggs were perfectly cooked, that’s hard to come by, they were perfectly seasoned, that’s even harder to come by, honestly. The sausage turns it from a breakfast wrap to a Country styled breakfast grandma cooked up. The hash they make up are larger and filling than you’d typically see. The bacon is crispy and giganto, the cheese fills every bite. I recommend it if you can’t decide form the plenty of options they have. Simplicity is best.

I hadn’t been to Bada Bean in years, and it was long overdue. If I remember correctly, it used to be more of a coffee shop, but I may be wrong. Today I had a full breakfast that consisted of its plate called«The Bodyguard.» This dish brings two eggs, a side, and a generous portion of their homemade corned beef hash. Utterly delicious. For dessert I had their cinnamon roll pancake, which is as delectable as the name implies. And here’s one thing that I absolutely love about this place: you can actually order a single freakin’ pancake à la carte! It’s a HUGE pet peeve of mine when you go to a breakfast restaurant and you are forced to order a stack of two, three or four pancakes when all you want is one damned pancake! So this is a plus for this place. The coffee was good and plentiful, and I like their coffee bar style, where you just get a mug and help yourself to as many cup-o-joes as you want. The ambiance was pleasant, and surprisingly full for a Friday morning, which is testament to the quality and price of this place. I’ll certainly be back for more.

Upon my UnilocalFlorida Instagram takeover I wanted to showcase some righteous breakfast eats here in Tallahassee. With Bada Bean’s continual game-changing breakfast specials, I knew I’d have an outlet to highlight a very unique dish to Florida Unilocalers. First off, I can’t believe I’ve never written a review for Bada Bean! This place unanimously is a Tallahassee favorite. It’s loved by all, so much so, you’ll often find yourself waiting to find a seat. I’ve had everything from breakfast skillets to the Elvis cakes, but on this day I took a leap of faith with one of the specials — the Chicken Cacciatore Omelette. The what?! As perplexed as I was, this Italian dude was left satisfied by the spicy, meaty and juicy concoction. Their home fries are plump and flavorful. Nearly addicting bites. Normally I don’t comment on toast, but the wheat toast tastes better than most here. Melted butter with a great crisp makes for an excellent encore. Friendly service, quick cooking times and massive portions make for an outstanding breakfast experience. Wendy — keep up the delicious eats. And by all means, stay innovative. Bada Bean for the win.

Bada Bean is one of the local Tallahassee Breakfast staples. Their breakfast food is always very fresh and they make interesting concoctions that you don’t normally find at other breakfast spots. On the weekend, parking can sometimes be hard to find, but if you wait for a second something normally opens up. Also, you normally have about a 15 – 25 minute wait, but the great thing about Bada Bean is they have a self service coffee counter where you can grab a cup of Joe while you wait for your table. They have breakfast specials as well that I always like to try. Some include Baked Blueberry French Toast, Red Velvet Pancakes with cream cheese frosting and a Honey Butter Chicken Sandwich that my friend described as other-worldly. Service can be kind of slow at times and they do have a transition of getting more staff once FSU students they employ graduate or move on, but this is spot to circle on your calendar when you are in Tallahassee for the local flair and delicious food.

Little strip mall joint, doesn’t look like much but the food is good :). Very nice breakfast, the biscuits steal the show! Nice coffee selection, served hot and fresh. Also really enjoyed the eggs, fresh and prepared well.

We eat here every weekend, sometimes two days in a row. It’s delicious food and worth the usual 10 – 15 minute wait. We’ve eaten our way through the menu, Alan’s Wrap and Pedro’s Fiesta is always a go for my boyfriend. Quiche is always changing and the meat one is always good. Cheese grits with a couple shakes of salt are killer. Cinnamon roll pancakes are super rich, chocolate chip pancakes are a perfect sweet breakfast that doesn’t leave you sick feeling. Corned beef hash is killer and the bacon is thick and perfectly cooked. Coffee is Lucky Goat and SOGOOD.

Great place for breakfast! Luckily we got there right before the line started, at 8:30 on Saturday. I ordered one of the specials, red velvet pancakes. My husband got the biscuits and gravy. While we waited we had plenty of their self serve coffee, local from Lucky Goat. It was so good! Getting our food took a while though! But the wait was worth it. My pancakes tasted amazing, with the perfect amount of creamy frosting. The biscuits and gravy were delicious as well, the gravy was perfectly seasoned. We will be back!
