Stopped by for my combo #1 fix… the classic whataburger… always get a kick out of whatasizing… those were the days. Fries were delightful and burger great as usual. Brought my boy with me and he ordered the #7. He was wondering why they included bread with his meal… We were there just past noon and it was comfortably full. Older people, students, kids, construction workers… nice mix. Other customers playfully razzed my boy because of his Michigan shirt All good…

During weekday lunches — Lively helpful energetic staff. Good service. If you are not familiar with this chain, they offer good fast food type hamburgers brought to your table. They are now offering several ‘low cal’ options and upgrades to wheat buns.

It has been awhile since my last visit to the Whataburger south of campus. But in my day, this was my drunk food of choice. So many times, I’ve gone through the drive thru and ordered copious amounts of fried food and country gravy dipping sauce. Alas, I may have regretted it when I rose in the morning, but they were fantastic enough in the moment that the memories of such ecplise that of the morning after entirely. The chicken strips were my usual go-to meal(complete with Texas Toast. Guthrie who?!), but when one craves beef, there is no substitute for the original Whataburger. Of course I would be remiss if I forgot to mention the fantastic breakfasts they offer: taquitos, breakfast on a bun, and the honey biscuit chicken sandwich. Fast service and ample entertainment from the locals top off the experience at Whataburger. Bottom Line: This is the best drunk food in Tally and this location is its best kept secret.
