If reviews were based on food alone, Chef Larry’s would be a 5 star restaurant. My family ordered the hummus starter, cheese pizza, the broccoli cheddar quinoa bowl, the lemon basil quinoa bowl, and my super picky MIL orders the stuffed cabbage. My kids RAVED about their pizza and the quinoa bowls were unique and tasty. My MIL liked her stuffed cabbage well enough to take the leftovers home BUT the shop ran out of broccoli and didn’t tell her till we had already been sitting for 20 min. Unfortunately that’s just about the only vegetable she eats. To add to that, the shop is so small they had difficulty sitting a group of 6 and the food was really slow coming out. In fact, they asked another couple to get up and move in order to accommodate us. I completely understand that the food is made fresh as we order but the starters should at least come out faster and be large enough to take the edge off for a group of 6 hungry people. I’d like to add that we asked the wait staff about the size of the starter before ordering.

After reading the great reviews, my Mom and I went to Chef Larry’s for dinner. The food was great — as was the service. I was surprised(but not disappointed) that it was small — what you might call a «hole in the wall» but so enjoyable, especially if you are on a budget. I’m a vegetarian so I’m always looking for restaurants that have choices my Mom and I will both enjoy. She had stuffed cabbage, I had a Greek salad. The portions were so large, we both brought home as much food as we ate. The rolls were fantastic! They must be baked on the premises. I was especially surprised that the coffee was delicious — I wasn’t sure it would be fresh so late in the day and it was really good. We will go back since I am now craving their Eggplant Parm sandwich and the homemade kettle chips. The waitresses were so friendly, they made the experience very enjoyable. And the music! I don’t know if it’s always the same, but I heard all my favorite songs from the 60s and the 70s. It was a very nice evening.

Amazing waitress, service, food, quality just everything. Their garlic rolls are very authentic and have a true garlic herb taste with fluffy rolls. Their calzones are enormous and have the freshest meats and veggies. Delicious subs and on top of that a very personable waitress which i look forward to everytime I stop by. Coming from a 15 year old, this place is amazing !

We decided we wanted to try a new place… a little tired of «same old, same old.» We were so glad we did. It was a little hard to spot because the sign is just an old banner hanging out front, but once you get past that… wow! The food is homemade, and it shows. Our entrees were very good, but the dessert was even better. And if you are looking for a good value, well then this is it. All of the prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. We were also impressed by the staff, which was, to a person, super friendly and fun. I have a feeling we may become regulars as we live so close. And that’s fine by us… Chef Larry’s does food right!

I ordered the reuben and it was pretty good. The sandwich is huge, loaded with meat, you definitely get your money’s worth. The fries were good and the cream of mushroom soup that came highly recommended was bland and tasted no better than canned soup. On the basis of the food alone I might have returned and just skipped the soup next time. My experience was ruined by the waitress who hovered. I want to eat my lunch in peace without making small talk and fielding questions beyond, «Can I get you anything else?» She was friendly but there can be such a thing as too friendly. She seemed desperate for business.

This cute little deli would have gotten 5 stars, but the smell from the griddle was a bit overwhelming for me. The food is so yummy, service was quick, and the staff was so friendly! I got a basic BLT and fries(being bad today). What yummy comfort food. What really impressd me was that they have such a selection! Everything from the basics, like my BLT, to quinoa bowls. Give them a try… this little gem was too empty at 2 pm!

Came here for lunch since its near my buddy’s office. The place feels like am old queens deli. Its in Tamarac so the right clientele for this vibe. The waitress was very nice and funny. We ordered a pastrami sandwich and corned beef sandwich both were very good. Tue place is down home honest food with a nice owner and wait staff. Best pastrami i have had in a long time. Would definitely come again.

Chef Larry made a delicious pizza for my friend and me. Loaded with pineapple and bacon-no calories(ha ha). Another 5 star meal at a very reasonable price. Can’t wait for a breakfast with Larry and Debi.

We ordered some dinner and dessert from here a couple days after our initial visit, and all we can say is yum yum yum! I knew their food was advertised as «home made» and«made to order» and«fresh», but I didn’t really realize to what extent until we ordered their dinner and I watched one of the cooks make my food from scratch in front of me. I ordered a classic pasta with grilled salmon. I got a gigantic piece of fresh salmon, cooked perfectly, and a garlic butter wine sauce that was made from scratch. It wasn’t overly buttery or oily, which I was afraid of, and the sauce to fish to noodle ratio was perfect. My boyfriend had the philly cheesesteak with their famous kettle chips. Also delicious and great left over as well. We also had an order of their cinnamon poppers, which were basically glazed cinnamon rolls. The cook actually made icing from scratch! They’re rolling out another updated menu soon. Excited to try more items out!

So yummy! My mother in law and I had the quinoa bowl and I CAN’T WAIT to come back for it again. Server was super sweet. Not as fast as a fast food restaurant but all orders are made to order so it’s fresh. Hope they last.

One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. It took 40 minutes from the time we arrived to get served a glass of water. The place was smokey and effected my wifes eyes. My potato knish was not baked through and through and some of my home fries were not soft and the onions were not well done as requested. My wife ordered salmon with sauce on the side. It was served with a dill sauce already on it and our waitress apologized telling us the chef was all harried and goofed. My wife hated it but was not about to wait another hour to get a replacement. My wife also ordered pasta with marinara sauce with no cheese; naturally it was served with cheese. Our waitress was a sweet gal who ran her ass off. She did not have a serving tray and delivered 1 item at a time. The owner and chef seems like a nice fellow however the whole system needs an overhaul. We did not get out of there for almost 2hrs. I do not think they are going to make it if this type of service continues.

This place is the best breakfast, lunch and dinner place I have been to in years. I will be a repeat customer for sure. Chef Larry is very nice and cares about his food and customers. I also hear his pizza is to die for and will be my next meal there. Thanks for the great food!

My second time at Chief Larry’s and I am just as happy as the last time. The prices are reasonable. How can you beat $ 8.00 for a a Nova lox platter, which included, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, capper, olives, onion, bagel, cream cheese and coffee. The lox was perfectly hand cut. The owner came over to find out how are meal was. All and all a hidden treasure in Tamarac. So glad I found this place. I will definitely be back to try the $ 10.00 dinner special.

We were heading for the restaurant next door and saw the little blackboard sign advertising $ 4 egg breakfast. We decided to give it a shot. We entered a small unimpressive store front restaurant. Upon looking at the menu the three of us ordered various omlettes. I special ordered, asking for Lox eggs and onions. The plating was beautiful. Omlettes golden, and layed out invitingly. All agreed that the food was delicious. Service was swift and pleasant, and all in all our dining experience was exceptional. We will Definitely frequent this place!
