I’m obsessed with their Buffalo Chicken sandwich. It epitomizes oooey-gooey deliciousness! My fiancé loves their pizza, calzones, and garlic knots. We both really appreciate the staff at Alfonso’s too. A bunch of guys who know what they’re doing and who seem to enjoy it. Really love this place, but had to dock one star due to their allegiance to the Giants. Go Pats!!!

First time to Alfonso’s, didn’t look like anything special from the outside, just has the word«pizzeria» above the place, but I was pleasantly surprised. Found this place because my Brooklyn Über driver said they were good. We had lasagna, cheese ravioli, and pizza. The sauce is pretty good, so consequently the lasagna and ravioli were pretty good, but I think it needs more garlic. Good flavor overall, just missing a little something. But the cheese was delicious. The pizza was also the bomb. Their thin New York style has great flavor, I had sausage, mushroom, and garlic, delicious. Plus they had great friendly service. Thanks Alfanso’s!

Simply the best New York style pizzeria around.(I was born and raised in NYC.) I usually get it delivered, but was in the neighborhood. Place looks great. Chicken parm sandwich is top notch. It also feels great to support a local business, instead of some cardboard pizza corporation.

This place is pretty good but it seems to be inconsistent. Sometimes its pretty good and other times it’s amazing. They are a little pricey and I hate gambling on food so we don’t order from there very often anymore.

As a former New Yorker, before I was forced to eat gluten free this was my go to for pizza in the area. They have redone the inside of the restaurant so it is current looking and added another oven to keep up with demand Delivery time can be long so make sure to call early!

This is one of the places that makes Lutz/Tampa GREAT. I’m writing this from LA because that’s how much I miss Alfonso’s. Hands down, this is THEBEST pizza in the greater Tampa area(and maybe even the world). I still remember how excited I was to have Alfonso’s for my 5th birthday party, and that was more than 20 years ago. But beware, this isn’t Little Cesar’s. Translation: they make it fresh and you might have to – gasp! – wait to enjoy it.

Cute atmosphere. Great kind and friendly service. Crust was perfect. Toppings generous. But no sauce… Where was the sauce?

Sadly, another place that I can’t agree with Unilocal’s rating. First, the guy taking my order at the counter was extremely slow at writing it down. Normally, you can rattle off what you want, and they’ll have shorthand abbreviations to write it down quickly. This dude wrote the whole name out… slowly. Good God. Our order wasn’t complicated either: 10 garlic parm wings, 1 small hawaiian pizza, 1 small pepperoni pizza, mozzarella sticks. Mozzarella sticks come out first. Nothing wrong with them. Good, cheesy, just like any other. Then the wings. I’ve def had better. They didn’t seem equally seasoned with the garlic parm, nor did it even seem like there was much garlic. I only tasted parm. More like regular wings with a little parm here and there, actually. I’m not a fan of hawaiian, so I only can speak of the pepperoni pizza. It’s good, but suuuuper greasy. Usually, I’m okay with grease. It’s what makes everything taste good, ha! But this was just too much. Sorry, Alfonso’s and Unilocal,I wasn’t impressed.

This place is a classic here in the carrolwood area. They remodel the place and it has a new vibe to it like a modern contemporary deco. The food here is always great and beer its always cold! The place is not to big but its comfy !

I really enjoyed dinner here the other night. I’d never heard of it until I had a meeting at the Crisis Center and decided to grab a bite before, I’m glad I did. Their pizza is more of a NY style. It’s cheesy and delicious. The crust could have been a little crispier, but that’s stretching to find fault. Their small pizza is equivalent to a typical large and their small salads are enough for two adults and maybe even a child when accompanied by pizza. I do have to say that the pics they put on their Facebook page do not do justice to the quality of food you get here.

What a great neighborhood pizza joint this is. It was a holiday and I was really craving pizza(not that that’s unusual) and all of my usual pizza places were closed(outrageous). Alfonso’s came to the rescue! I was actually quite confused when we walked in. I had looked up directions on how to get there on Google Maps, which also had a 360 degree view of the interior. It looked like an old-school 1970’s décor in street view yet I was walking into a cool, modern looking restaurant. The man behind the counter explained that they had recently remodeled(that’s an understatement). Don’t think I’m nuts if you go look it up on Google Maps because they now show the current interior. The old décor made sense because their website says that they’ve been open since 1978! You don’t stay open that long unless you’re serving good food. The pizza was solid. New York style is my favorite and we were happy with what we got. I like that you can not only get a small, but a «mini» pizza as well. That’s great for solo diners who want more than a slice. I’ve also enjoyed their mozzarella sticks and chicken parm. I thought that the ravioli just«just okay». I definitely see myself continuing to come back to Alfonso’s.

I have been going to Alfonso’s since I was in middle school(11 years ago) and this place is still my #1 pizza spot! The pizza is literally ALWAYS on point from the cheese to the sauce, ending with a perfectly crisp crust. I always get a few slices of pepperoni pizza with a chefs salad and creamy Italian dressing or garlic knots. That doesn’t mean I haven’t tried the other items on the menu because when I was pregnant I ran through the whole thing and let me tell you I loved it allllll! That same little alien in my belly that made me eat everything in site here is now two and gets very excited when we walk through the doors. Except now he gets his own pizza that they cut in half and don’t cook as hot for him(: they have also recently remodeled the place including the addition of a fountain drink machine! Which saves me money because I can drink a good amount with my meals.

So happy that they are open after the renovation! They did a great job and the food seems better too. I had a simple lunch with two fabulous slices of pizza that were thicker than before and had more cheese than before! The place has really gone from a four star pizza joint to a five star pizza experience in my book. I have come here several times over the years, since 1990 or so. I will make it more of a habit now that they have a very updated look and even better service and quality. Bravo Alfonso’s bravo!

Every time we are in the area my daughter begs to stop here. I love that this is a local independent pizzeria. It’s pizza, it’s good. I love the selection of bottle drinks available not just the basic 5 sodas.

Been there twice now: pizza good, calzones so-so. Had cheese and white spinach slices that were both very good. Crunchy crust, sauce seasoned just right, and fresh cheese on both. I found the calzone to be very doughy and basically undercooked. It was still decent but nothing to Unilocal home about. Very friendly staff, nothing special inside but a nice place for lunch.

Wow, wow, wow… if only I had known this little gem of a pizza place was right up the road from my apartment. Ive wasted so much time ordering from domino’s across the street, but now I know better. Best NY style pizza ive had since… well, the pizza I had in New york! I ordered a very simple cheese pizza and garlic knots, but the flavor blew me away. The crust/dough on the pizza is definitely quality and not styrofoam crap(ie: pizza hut crust) the pizza wasnt too greasy and I love how they are very generous with the cheese. I dont think they deliver outside of the area, so you have to live pretty close to do that. But honestly, next time I want to just go there. They do pizza by the slice which would be cheaper and more convenient for my boyfriend and I. It ended up being 23 $ with the delivery but thats the total(including tip) so a little pricey for cheese pizza and knots. I cant wait to go dine in. Alfonso’s is officially my favorite pizza in Tampa bay(so far). :)

It may seem like a hole in the wall, but they make good pizza. The reasons why I like Alfonso’s Pizza… 1. The owners are friendly. 2. They sell authentic NY pizza. 3. They sell by the slice. 4. It’s close to where I live.

It’s authentic and the owners/workers were informative about the evolution of the Tampa Bay area, funny on how they describe their experiences with some customers of all walks of life, and attentive. I visited this place on a ‘chance’ and glad I did. PS: I watched the older gentleman make my pizza, I enjoyed it. Note this is a very, very casual place.

Ahhh, Alfonso’s. I came across this little gem randomly one day in the late 90’s while gallivanting around Tampa’s outskirts as a medical courier. I don’t believe they advertise their pies as «New York-Style,» but they are hand-tossed and cooked similar to that of a NY pizza. No matter how ya slice it, pun intended, Alfonso makes a good pizza! The sauce is thin, they go heavy on the cheese, and the crust/dough is some of the best around. The overall consistency of the dough is what keeps me going back. It’s a little thicker than a NY style pizza, so the slices are more substantive and it takes less slices to get full. I don’t think Alfonso uses any topnotch, high-grade ingredients, so it’s nothing fancy at all, but what he has works, and it has been since 1978 when he opened! Trust me, it’s no accident that he’s been in business this long. Another Unilocaler mentioned that this is the only place in town to get a Sicilian pie, but that is incorrect. Bruno’s on Sheldon offers Sicilian. I can’t make a comparison between the two because I’ve never had either of them. If you enjoy independent pizzerias, I highly recommend Alfonso’s. The staff is friendly, the décor is late 70’s(wood paneling lol), and the pies are fan-freaking-tastic. Oh and… CASHONLY!
